Payback 2016 Predictions

After a pretty disapointing WrestleMania, it's Payback time!...even though only one of the matches on the card is a WrestleMania rematch...and it's on the pre-show. Anyway, with 8 matches on the card and four guys on the poster who don't have a match on the card, here are my predictions for Payback 2016 Pre Show 1. Kalisto (c) vs Ryback-United States Championship Winner: Ryback In the only rematch on the card, Kalisto defends the United States Championship against the Big Guy Ryback. Kalisto retained the title at WrestleMania, and these two have done literally done nothing since. I'm going with Ryback for the win just because the last time they fought on Smackdown (on Smackdown...) Ryback got the win. Main Card 1. Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin Winner: Baron Corbin Since Baron Corbin made his debut on the RAW after WrestleMania, he has been beating the piss out of Dolph Ziggler...a lot. So it's only natural that the two face off at Payback. Corbin

My Thoughts on NXT (4/20/16): The One Where Deonna Loses

Well this is super late. But let's not dwell on it, here are my thoughts on last week's NXT. By the way, we are still at WrestleMania Axxess Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vs American Alpha- The crowd is already going insane for this match before it even starts, chanting "This is Awesome" right at the start of the match. Gable and Enzo start and Gable takes control by taking Enzo to the ground. Gable shows off how fast he is, easily working Enzo over with quick reversals, transitions, and roll ups. American Alpha take turns working over Enzo with holds and wrestling takedowns until Enzo grabs the ropes off an Irish whip and makes the tag to Big Cass, who steps in the ring before the commercial break. We come back with Cass scoop slamming Enzo onto Jason Jordan for a two count. American Alpha quickly regain control, however, after a big arm drag by Gable. After a nasty looking head-to-head collision between Enzo and Gable, Enzo tags in Cass, who works over Gable.

My Thoughts on RAW (4/25/16): Movie Quotes & Talk Show Feuds

We kick off with Shane McMahon. I'm sorry, did I just hallucinate the entire time WrestleMania 32 happened. Shane must have won at WrestleMania because he's been in charge for the last month. I could've sworn Shane lost at WrestleMania to the Undertaker. I guess not. Shane says he still here because of the fans, and Payback is the first pay-per-view of a new era. Outcomes Stephanie McMahon to a lot of boos. Stephanie says Shane is pandering to the fans and compliments the fans because she might be a heel, but she needs to be liked by the fans too. Shane says she took the air out of the room, and Stephanie says Shane should recognize her importance. She says this is Shane's last night running RAW, and says that Vince will decide who runs RAW at Payback. Stephanie says Vince is too smart to listen to the fans, but Shane says he wouldn't be on RAW if he didn't listen. Shane tells her to leave, but she says she isn't leaving the ring. Since he's still i

7 OVW Tag Team Champions That Might Seem Odd Now

Long before NXT was the developmental branch for WWE, it was Ohio Valley Wrestling. Founded in 1997 by Nightmare Danny Davis, OVW sereved as WWE's farm territory from 2000 until 2008 when it was replaced by Florida Championship Wrestling. During it's partnership with WWE, it created some of WWE's future biggest stars such as John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton. It also featured future WWE tag teams such as MNM, Cryme Tyme, and Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, who all held the OVW Southern Tag Team Championships. However, now that it's 2016, some of these teams sound weird in hindsight. Here are 7 OVW Tag Team Champions that might seem odd now. Eugene & Rob Conway I almost didn't include these two due to the fact that they were a tag team for years, but with the gimmicks they are best known for now, it was just too strange to not include. Eugene was the mentally challenged nephew of Eric Bischoff, while Conway was a typical narcissistic heel who lo

Worst in the World: Los Villanos vs Los Psycho Circus-Triplemania XXIII

Ladies and gentlemen...the worst match of 2015. Yes, this match had the dishonor of being named the Worst Match of the Year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and was completely panned by Dave Meltzer. The match was so bad, in fact, that Meltzer gave it MINUS. FIVE. STARS. The first match he's given that too since 1999. By his standards, this match is worse than That Jackie Gayda match, worse than Sting vs Jeff Hardy at Victory Road, and worse than Survivor Jenna's match. That's how bad this was for him. Coming from Mexico's AAA promotion, and from Triplemania XXIII, which got voted the Worst Major Wrestling Show of 2015, this is Los Villanos vs Los Psycho Circus. Right off the bat, and I mean as soon the match starts, there are already technical issues. You can barely hear commentator Matt Striker, which leaves you with Hugo Savinovich. I don't know if this was just an off night, but he was awful. He can't seem to get any lines off without stuttering a

Could Conor McGregor Be WWE-Bound?

UPDATE: Never mind, he's not retiring On Wednesday, Conor McGregor shocked the world when he apparently announced his retirement from mixed martial arts via Twitter. At 27 years old, McGregor sported a 19-3 record, at one point going on a 15 straight win streak, and only lost one time in UFC. In his career, he won the UFC Featherweight Championship from Jose Aldo in a 13 second fight, and won two other titles in the UK's Cage Warriors Fighting Championship .Since his tweet, the rumor mill has been running as people speculate what McGregor does next with his career. One of the more persistent rumors that's been passed around is that McGregor could possibly venture into professional wrestling, with WWE's Becky Lynch tweeting him to "#ComeJoinMeBro", and EVOLVE booker Gabe Sapolsky offering him a spot at EVOLVE, citing the success of former fighter Matt Riddle. McGregor has also recently followed Lynch, Triple H, and Stephanie & Shane McMahon on Twitte

My Thoughts on RAW (4/18/16): The Swiss Booty-Man

(Just a quick note, sorry I didn't post a review for last week's RAW. Lost track of time and didn't start RAW until halfway through) RAW is in London tonight, so get ready for some totally legit cheers for Roman Reigns that totally weren't piped in We kick off with the Ambrose Asylum, hosted by Dean Ambrose, same sh*tty hand drawn sign and all. Ambrose cracks a few jokes as the crowd chants "Dean-O". He name drops James Cordin and points out his parents are in the crowd. He brings out Shane McMahon, who is running RAW for the third straight week, proving further that WrestleMania 32 meant nothing. They talk about Shane's cage jump at Mania, and Ambrose asks Shane what his goals are for RAW. Shane says the fans deserve better, and he's going to give wrestlers who don't get opportunities the chances they deserve. Outcomes Kevin Owens, who says Shane is just doing the same crap Vince did for years, and that Shane has a personal vendetta agains

Worst in the World: Dustin Runnels & King Kong vs Awesome Kong & The Equalizer-Battlebowl

So...Battlebowl. If you didn't know, Battlebowl was a WCW pay-per-view they held once where wrestlers were randomly placed in tag matches, and the winners of the tag matches got put in a Battle Royal. The concept had been done twice before at Starrcade 1991 and 1992, and was only held once more after at Slamboree 1996, before TNA picked up the idea, calling it Joker's Wild. I actually think this was a really cool idea, seeing random wrestlers put together, regardless of if they were face or heel, and having them team together. This made a few cool tag teams we never thought we'd get too see, like Cactus Jack & Vader or Steve Austin & Ric Flair. Unfortunately, it also gave us Dustin Rhodes & King Kong facing off against The Equalizer & Kong's Colossal Kongs partner Awesome Kong (who is so obscure he doesn't have a Wikipedia page). First off, let's just talk about the people in this match. First, we've got white meat Dustin Rhodes in his b

Worst in the World: Hollywood Hogan vs Roddy Piper-SuperBrawl 1997

Hey look, WCW trying to recapture the magic of one of WWE's greatest rivalries.. . again . Yes, Hogan-Savage wasn't WCW's first attempt to make a legendary WWE feud one of their own. One year earlier, they tried to do the same thing with Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper...12 years after they feuded in WWE. The two ended up main eventing Starrcade 1996, where Piper beat Hogan for the first time by knockout to NOT win Hogan's WCW World Heavyweight Championship because "reasons", so it was only fitting the two faced off one more time in the main event of SuperBrawl 1997 with Hogan's belt on the line. Let's see why this match won Worst Match of the Year in 1997. Immediately as the bell sounds, Hogan tries to walk out of the match before he even gets in the ring. How can the match start if both men aren't in the ring? Whatever, this is WCW for you. Hogan teases getting in the ring then tries to walk out again, but Piper catches him in the entrance way. P
