My Thoughts on RAW (8/7/17): The (Not-So) Amazing French Canadian

Kicking off RAW is MizTV. Miz says RAW will not begin until Jason Jordan comes down to the ring. He says he's tired of being cheap-shotted on his own show and calls out Jordan again to finish what he started. Instead, Kurt Angle comes out. He says Jordan won't be on MizTV tonight because he has a match against Curtis Axel tonight. However, he says he has a guest that will exceed MizTV standards for him...Brock Lesnar. Lesnar & Paul Heyman come down to the ring and Heyman tries to talk, but Miz pulls the whole "when my hand goes up, your mouth goes shut" routine. Miz says that Lesnar is pretty much guaranteed to lose at SummerSlam and says good riddance to him. Miz asks Heyman if he has something to say, so Heyman picks up the mic and asks Miz if he & Maryse ever role-play, because that's what he's all about. Please don't put that image in my head, Paul. He says that Miz, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel are like Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun St

My Thoughts on NXT (8/2/17): Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

Johnny Gargano vs Raul Mendoza- Initially, Gargano comes out with his old #DIY song & entrance video, only for it to change into a new song & video. The two lock up to start and trade holds. Gargano takes control of the match with a variety of holds before knocking Mendoza down with a shoulder block. Mendoza kips up and the two go back and forth, trading roll ups before Gargano catches Mendoza with a schoolboy enziguri. Gargano goes to the wristlock, which Mendoza breaks and hits a forearm strike. The two run the ropes before Mendoza hits a running enziguri for a near fall. The two trade blows before Gargano connects with the slingshot spear from the apron. Gargano runs through Mendoza, connecting with forearms and a huge clothesline, only for Mendoza to come back with an enziguri. Mendoza goes to the top rope and tries for the 450 splash, but Gargano avoids it and locks in an over the shoulder crossface called the Gargano Escape for the submission win. Pretty solid match.

RAW vs Nitro #50 (9/30/96)

Welcome to another edition of RAW vs Nitro ! Click here to read the last one if you missed it. Now, I know it's been a while since I've come back to RAW vs Nitro, and I'm sorry for that. I recently got a new job and I'm still trying to adjust to my new schedule. I'm going to try to do a new RAW vs Nitro every week, but anyone who reads this blog frequently knows that the idea of me keeping a deadline is about as realistic as the Ultimate Warrior doing a clean job to Santa Claus, so take that with a grain of salt. So with that out of the way, let's get into it, this is RAW vs Nitro #50. RAW Steve Austin vs Jake Roberts- The two lock up and fight into the corner before the referee breaks them up. They repeat that spot before Austin punches Roberts. Austin goes to the headlock, but Roberts fights out and punches Austin to the ground. Austin rolls out of the ring before getting back in the ring, where the two go back and forth. Roberts catches Austin with

My Thoughts on SmackDown (8/1/17): The Cleveland Screw Job

AJ Styles (c) vs Kevin Owens-United States Championship- Owens starts off in control with a headlock. The two trade holds and go back and forth before Owens dodges a dropkick and clotheslines Styles out of the ring. Owens follows him out and clotheslines Styles before the commercial break. We come back to Owens booting Styles in the face for a near fall. Styles comes back with a dropkick before kicking Owens in the back and dropping a knee for a near fall. Styles suplexes Owens for a one count before beating Owens down in the corner. Styles tries for the Phenomenal Forearm, but Owens rolls out of the ring to avoid it. Styles is able to connect with a diving forearm to the outside, only for Owens to come back, flapjack him into the barricade, and nail him with a cannonball before another commercial break. We come back to Styles landing on his feet off a back suplex. Styles strikes Owens down and hits a sliding forearm before hitting the Ushigoroshi for a near fall. Styles goes for

My Thoughts on RAW (7/31/17): A Matter of Respect

Kurt Angle comes out to kick off the show. He says he has an incredible show planned tonight, announcing that Big Show & Big Cass will face off, MizTV will have Jason Jordan as a guest, and Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe will face off in a triple threat match. Angle leaves the ring, only for Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman to come out. Heyman says that Angle wants to get the Universal Championship off of Lesnar and that's the only reason he put Lesnar in a fatal 4-way match. He says the whole match is a set-up to get Lesnar to pay the "ultimate price." Heyman says that if Lesnar loses the Universal Championship, then Lesnar & himself will leave the WWE. However, Heyman says that Lesnar will not lose his title to Strowman, Reigns, or Joe and at the end of the night, the announcement will be that the winner, and still the champion is Brock Lesnar. The Hardy Boyz vs Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson- The Revival are on commentary for this match. Matt

My Thoughts on NXT (7/26/17): A Fire You Can't Dance Around

Ember Moon vs Lei'D Tapa- Tapa takes the fight right to Moon, clotheslining her down before tossing her across the ring. Tapa follows up by stomping away at Moon before headbutting her. Moon comes back with a tornado DDT set-up into a suplex before hitting a single leg dropkick. Moon strikes away at Tapa before going to the top rope and hitting the Eclipse for the three and the win. After the match, Moon takes the mic and says she wants Asuka at Takeover: Brooklyn. She says Asuka wants competition and she's willing to give it to her. She says she's not afraid to face Asuka and says she's ready to defeat Asuka. The Authors of Pain with Paul Ellering vs David Ramos & Timothy Bumpers- EXCEPT NOPE! As the AOP make their entrance, Nikki Cross pops up and stands on the ring apron. Meanwhile, Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain take out Ramos & Bumpers and toss them out of the ring. The AOP get in the ring and stare down Wolfe & Dain before both teams brawl be

My Thoughts on SmackDown (7/25/17): Welcome Back MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

We kick off the show with new United States Champion Kevin Owens. He says being the United States Champion feels right and says that Battleground was proof that good things happen to good people. He says he'll defend the title with the honor & pride it deserves and says he is reinstating the Kevin Owens United States Championship Open Challenge, starting...next week. He says he would never defend his title in Richmond, Virginia before AJ Styles comes out. He says he wants his rematch for the title, but Owens reiterates he will not defend the title tonight. And then...BREAK THE WALLS DOWN!!! CHRIS JERICHO IS BACK! He says he's back and he wants the United States Championship back. Styles interjects and says he is next in line for the United States Championship, not Jericho, so Jericho puts him on the List of Jericho. Owens leaves the ring and walks up the ramp, only for Shane McMahon to come out and announce that tonight, Owens will defend the United States Championship a

My Thoughts on RAW (7/24/17): Top Nerds

Kurt Angle comes out to kick off the show. He announces that Jason Jordan will have his first match on RAW tonight before turning his attention to the Universal Championship situation. He says Braun Strowman ruined the #1 contenders match between Roman Reigns & Samoa Joe last week and before he announces who Brock Lesnar will face at SummerSlam, Strowman comes out. He says he better be the one to face Lesnar or else and says unlike Reigns & Joe, he actually won at Great Balls of Fire and says that he doesn't fear Brock Lesnar, Brock Lesnar fears him. Samoa Joe's out next and says that Strowman is lucky they haven't crossed paths since he came to RAW and says he's the one who doesn't fear Brock Lesnar, and he definitely doesn't fear Braun Strowman. He says all Strowman did was save Reigns from taking another loss to him and says Angle needs to give Lesnar to him. Roman Reigns comes out and says Joe & Strowman haven't done anything in WWE befo
