Worst in the World: The House of Horrors Match-Payback 2017

(NOTE: Before this post starts, I wanted to give a heads up. Throughout this review, there are GIFs that contain bright, flashing lights on repeat. If you suffer from p hotosensitive epilepsy, it might be best to skip this post) Over a year ago, I covered Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt's WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 33 , the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's "winner" of the Worst Match of the Year award. While the match was nothing above subpar, especially for a world title match at WrestleMania, and featured... whatever that was, I mentioned in my post that I didn't think that it was actually the worst match of the year. The only problem for 1997 was that it wasn't the mid-80s anymore, and both were far past their primes, which is extra alarming considering neither of them were known for their expert in-ring abilities, even in their primes. This match is the third in a lackluster trilogy the two had for nearly a year, with Piper winning the first non-title match (which made no sense because Piper was the one who had the contract written up in storyline) at Starrcade 1996 and Ho...
