Welcome to another edition of the 5 Star Series, the series that covers the greatest wrestling matches of all time to see what truly is the best match ever. This week, we'll be making our first venture into the world of joshi puroresu in this series, as I'll be looking at Jaguar Yokota defending the WWWA World Championship at All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling's Summer Night Festival In Budokan. Worst in the World: That Match From the Cody Rhodes Story

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. I'll be honest, the only reason I gave this entry that title is because I'm 99.9% sure Google would not be cool with me titling something "The Fuck on Me Match." On paper, this match doesn't seem like one that would really stand out. A six-man tag match pitting Daniel Bryan, the original Sin Cara, and Ezekiel Jackson against Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr., and Wade Barrett on a random episode of SmackDown (The June 17, 2011 episode, t doesn't even sound too bad in general, let alone an all-time bad match. Sure, there's a pretty obvious botched finish, but that's about it. The match itself probably would've stayed a random multi-man midcard match, had it not been for one of the participants, Cody Rhodes, recounting his experience of "the worst match of his career." Cody first told this story during a YouTube livestream in 2017 alongside his t

The 5 Star Series #5: Ilja Dragunov vs. WALTER-wXw 16 Carat Gold 2017 (Night 3)

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the 5 Star Series. Welcome to another edition of the 5 Star Series, the series that covers the greatest wrestling matches of all time to see what truly is the best match ever. This week, we'll be delving into a company I've never discussed on the blog, as I'll be covering a match between Ilja Dragunov and WALTER. Most people are probably familiar with the two's pair of matches in WWE's developmental systems, first in NXT UK in 2020 and then in NXT in 2021. However, their series of elite matches actually started back in 2017, when they faced off in German promotion Westside Xtreme Wrestling in the finals of the 2017 16 Carat Gold tournament. Worst in the World: "Barack Obama" vs "Hillary Clinton"-Monday Night Raw (4/21/2008)

Well, it's Super Tuesday in the United States, the one day of every presidential election cycle where the most states hold their Democratic & Republican presidential primaries to pick which candidates will be the parties' nominees. With that in mind, what better time to talk about this...match...I guess. Back in 2007, WWE made the odd decision to book a match between "Donald Trump" and "Rosie O'Donnell" , i.e., two independent wrestlers impersonating the two feuding public figures. The match has gone down as one of the absolute worst segments WWE has ever put on television, and is generally considered a massive waste of time devoid of entertainment... ... ... ... Remember when they did it again... Over a year after the Trump-Rosie match, WWE trotted out a few more impersonators to have another "match", this time to coincide with the 2008 Presidential Primaries. Then-senators Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York (who was

Worst in the World: The "New York Rules" Episode of WCW Thunder

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Yeah...all of it. There are more than a few contenders for the worst episode of television WCW ever produced. There's the March 3rd, 1999 episode of Nitro, which the company decided to start off with, and I'm not exaggerating, zero matches for the ENTIRE FIRST HOUR of the show. Or there's the November 8th episode of Nitro that same year, which focused on a vacant World Heavyweight Championship tournament, and had only one of its 13 matches go longer than six minutes. And of course, there's the April 26th, 2000 episode of Thunder, a show infamous for David Arquette winning the world title. That episode has not just the lowest Cagematch.net rating of any episode of television WCW ever put on, but the lowest of any show WCW ever held. But WCW wasn't done there, because just one week later on the very next episode of Thunder, they put another legit contender for their wor
