Welcome to another edition of the 5 Star Series, the series that covers the greatest wrestling matches of all time to see what truly is the best match ever. There are over 200 matches from New Japan Pro-Wrestling on my list of potential matches for this series, and for our first venture into the company, I'll be looking at the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 11, as Kazuchika Okada defends the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Kenny Omega. This match is not only the company's highest-rated match on Cagematch.net, but is tied for the highest-rated match on the entire site (with more votes.) The Match Facts The Match: Kazuchika Okada (c) vs Kenny Omega The Event: Wrestle Kingdom 11 The Stipulation: Singles match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship Meltzer Rating: 6 stars Cagematch.net Rating: 9.80/10 (#1 on Cagematch's Top 100 Matches) Where to Watch: NJPW World ( The match is av

Worst in the World: Kevin Nash vs Sid Vicious-Starrcade 1999

It's pretty simple; the referee gets knocked out by one of the wrestlers (either intentionally or unintentionally), the babyface hits a finisher and makes the cover, he gets the visual three count, but not the victory because the referee is still down and can't see the pin. It's an easy way to extend the match while giving the match some more heat, and plenty of great matches have done this to great effect. WCW and Vince Russo, however, decided to put their own spin on that trope, leading to one of the absolute dumbest endings to a match you'll ever see. That ending came at Starrcade 1999 in the "Powerbomb match" between Kevin Nash and Sid Vicious. The match is simple, the first man to hit the Powerbomb wins and is the true "Master of the Powerbomb." The 5 Star Series #3: Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole-NXT TakeOver XXV

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the 5 Star Series. Welcome to another edition of the 5 Star Series, the series that covers the greatest wrestling matches of all time to see what truly is the best match ever. We started this series with Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: New York a month ago, and now, we'll look at the rematch, with Gargano defending the NXT Championship against Cole in the main event of NXT TakeOver: XXV. The Match Facts The Match: Johnny Gargano (c) vs Adam Cole The Event: NXT TakeOver: XXV The Stipulation: Singles match for the NXT Championship Meltzer Rating: 5 1/4 stars Cagematch.net Rating: 9.11/10 Where to Watch: Various Services Depending on Region (Peacock, WWE Network, Binge, etc.) How We Got Here Gargano came out on top of their Two out of Three Falls match at TakeOver: New York, but Cole, who won the first fall, had a legitimate claim to a rematch, setting up their second encounter two months later.

Worst in the World: Rick Steiner vs Sting-The Great American Bash 1999

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. As I've mentioned before in this series, 1999 doesn't get nearly as much attention when talking about the downfall of WCW as 2000 does, it's still a brutal year for the company. In the aftermath of the Fingerpoke of Doom, WCW had found themselves trailing the WWF in the Monday Night Wars, stuck in a hole that was only getting deeper as the weeks went by. A big part of that was the big decline in quality for the company, something that is perfectly exemplified by their pay-per-view outputs in the summer of '99. I've covered Bash at the Beach from this year, and this week, I'll be taking a look at a match from another of those shows, in this case, The Great American Bash.  Pretty much the whole show is brutal, but for now, I'll be looking at the most infamous match from this card; Sting vs Rick Steiner in a Falls Count Anywhere match. As far as I can tell they&#
