Worst in the World: The Intercontinental Championship Elimination Chamber-Elimination Chamber 2015

(Note: Hey everyone. Since I ended up posting a week late after my wisdom teeth removal, I decided to post the next edition now instead of after two weeks to get back on my normal schedule. Hope you enjoy!)      Special thanks to camilo jaramillo for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below. Man, the Elimination Chamber is a cool match. Remember how we almost lost it for good? Like the Royal Rumble, the Elimination Chamber is easily one of WWE's most successful gimmick matches. While it's not as popular as Hell in a Cell, Money in the Bank, or TLC, the Chamber has firmly etched itself into WWE's lore since debuting in 2002, so much so that in 2010, it got its own self-titled pay-per-view dedicated to it, replacing the long-standing No Way Out as the final pay-per-view before WrestleMania. However, after only five events, WWE shelved the Elimination Chamber event in 2015 for the non-gimmicked Fastla...

Worst in the World: The Golden Truth vs Breezango-Money in the Bank 2016

(Special thanks to Otter Empire for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) Comedy wrestling is one of the more divisive topics in wrestling right now. I for one think that comedy matches have their place in professional wrestling. I can sit down and enjoy an Orange Cassidy match, I've already preached my love for things like the Broken Hardys in TNA and the Firefly Fun House match, and I can't lie, The Wee-LC match between Hornswoggle & El Torito was significantly more fun than it had any business being. However, the most important thing about comedy wrestling is...the comedy. Because just like in film and TV, comedy isn't something that can venture into "so bad it's good" territory like horror or drama. If comedy is bad...it's just bad. And there's been no shortage of bad comedy matches. I've covered quite a few of them in this series, and there will absolutely be...

Worst in the World: The Tag Team Gauntlet-Extreme Rules 2010

The tag team division in WWE is...not good, and hasn't been for a long time. From frequent title changes to little to no build for title matches, it's clear that WWE doesn't take the tag team scene as seriously as other wrestling companies & brands. This is especially jarring when one of those brands, NXT, is literally part of the same company, and their tag division doesn't have the same problems that the main roster does. And this isn't just a problem now, WWE has really struggled to build a strong and interesting division for a long time now, and one of the worst examples was the Tag Team Gauntlet match from Extreme Rules 2010. This match pitted the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions ShoMiz, The Big Show and The Miz, against three teams. Those three teams were The Hart Dynasty's Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith (Davey Boy Smith Jr.), John Morrison & R-Truth, and Mark Henry & MVP. That's four tag teams in one match. One of them is an actual tag team...

Worst in the World: The Reverse Battle Royal-Impact! (10/26/2006)

Four years. That's how long ago I started the Worst in the World. In that time, I've covered 111 matches...but this is the one I've wanted to cover for the longest time. Back when I made the original list for this series, I came up with 115 matches based on ratings from Dave Meltzer and winners of the Worst Match of the Year Award from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. What I didn't take into account was that quite a few of those matches were house show matches that I would never be able to find...but then there's this match. Unlike those random house show matches, this match was aired on television. It took place in 2006, so there should've been some video of it somewhere. Theoretically, I should've been able to watch this match with ease...but no. It was nowhere on YouTube, nowhere on Dailymotion...this match didn't exist anywhere on the Internet it seems. I probably could've found it if I had found some shady website that would've unloaded...
