For a company that has had no shortage of bad ideas and match types throughout its history, it's hard to argue that WWE didn't knock it out of the park with the Royal Rumble. Debuting in 1988, the Royal Rumble has gone on to become arguably WWE's most popular match type and is easily one of the most exciting stipulations in wrestling history. Whether it be the high-stakes nature of the match, the interesting combinations the match creates, or the one-off returns of legends of the past, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like the Royal Rumble.
