My Thoughts on RAW (6/19/17): Eat Your Heart Out, Lavar Ball

  • We kick off the show with Roman Reigns announcing his plans for SummerSlam. He says he can't be beaten one-on-one...unless you're Braun Strowman...or Seth Rollins...or Finn Balor. He actually lists off those three names, saying that they couldn't beat him one-on-one. He could've picked literally anyone and he chose three people who have clean pinfall victories over him in singles matches. Stupid idiot. He mentions that he retired the Undertaker at WrestleMania and says that Taker respects him because he beat him before saying that he wants to challenge the Universal Champion at SummerSlam because this is his yard and he makes the rules. He takes a shot at Samoa Joe during this, calling him "that guy they call Joe."  This brings out Joe, who mentions that Reigns has never beaten him, which Reigns responds to by saying he's "just Joe." This prompts Joe to headbutt Reigns and throw him around ringside. Joe tries for the Coquina Clutch, but Reigns fights out and hits a Superman Punch.
  • The Hardy Boyz vs Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson-Matt and Anderson start, with Jeff quickly tagging in as the Hardys take control. Anderson is able to force Matt into his corner and tags in Gallows, but Matt dodges an elbow drop and tags in Jeff. The Hardyz hit Poetry in Motion before Jeff hits a splash for a near fall. Gallows forces Jeff into his corner and tags in Anderson. The two go back and forth before Jeff gets to the top rope, only for Anderson to shove him down before the commercial break. We come back to Gallows hitting a big boot on Jeff Hardy. Gallows & Anderson control the match until Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind on both men. Matt gets the hot tag and runs wild on Gallows & Anderson. Anderson blocks a bulldog, but Matt is able to hit the Side Effect. Gallows breaks up the pin before tossing Jeff Hardy out of the ring. Matt clotheslines Gallows out, allowing Anderson to get a roll up for a near fall. Gallows gets a cheap shot in on Hardy before Anderson clotheslines him. Gallows & Anderson hit the Boot of Doom, but Matt kicks out. Gallows hits a superkick, which kicks Matt right into a tag from Jeff. Matt hits the Twist of Fate before Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb for the three and the win. Fine match, nothing special.
  • In a Shattered Dreams Production, Goldust says Hollywood is the biggest stage, but dreams get shattered on the side they don't want you to see. He says he's been there and fixed himself. He says that next week, he's inviting R-Truth to the debut of his newest motion picture; "The Shattered Truth."
  • Elias Samson is out. He begins to play a song but stops so he can tune his guitar. He is interrupted by Finn Balor. The two go face to face in the ring before Samson slowly backs out of the ring.
  • Finn Balor vs Bo Dallas-Bo takes the fight right to Balor before the bell rings. After the bell rings, Bo continues to beat down Balor, even taking the fight to the outside and throwing Balor into the barricade. Back in the ring, Bo continues to control the match until Balor hits a Pele Kick. Balor strikes away at Bo before stomping him on the ground. Balor clotheslines Bo out of the ring before hitting a running kick from the apron. Balor tosses Bo around ringside before bringing him back in the ring for a Sling Blade. Balor dropkicks Bo into the corner before hitting the Coup de Grace for the three and the win. After the match, Corey Graves suddenly leaves commentary.
  • Backstage, Kurt Angle is on the phone when he is approached by Corey Graves. He is quickly interrupted by Enzo Amore & Big Cass. Angle questions why Enzo would tweet that he would knock Conor McGregor out before Cass changes the subject to who keeps attacking them. Enzo says it's the Revival and Cass says it's Big Show before Angle says we'll find out who is attacking them by the end of the night.
  • Outcomes Seth Rollins. He talks about being on the cover of WWE 2K18, saying that it's not just his cover, it's our cover. He is interrupted by Bray Wyatt, who says Rollins keeps contradicting himself by talking about how he has changed but keeps talking about his material possessions. He calls Rollins a corporate shill and that Rollins is conforming to what the fans want him to be. He says Rollins is not the honest man he pretends to be, which Rollins responds to by calling Wyatt egotistical and an alleged god. He says gods only exist in people's minds and he is nothing to him. Wyatt warns him that anyone who takes his name in vain will be punished and says he's going to make a sacrifice. The lights go out before Wyatt's music hits. Wyatt comes down to ringside, only for Rollins to dive onto him off the top rope.
  • Charly Caruso interviews Finn Balor. He says things didn't go his way at Extreme Rules, but he's looking forward and plans on getting back the Universal Championship. He is attacked by Elias Samson from behind, who tells him to never upstage him again. D-Von Dudley ends up running over to shoo Samson off.
  • Akira Tozawa vs TJP-Before the match starts, Titus O'Neil comes down to the ring and says this match needs the proper hype, courtesy of the Titus Brand. He gives each man their own introduction, with Tozawa getting a much more enthusiastic intro. The two go back and forth to start before Tozawa gets a near fall off a roll up followed by an arm drag. TJP counters with a twisting headscissor takedown for a near fall before Tozawa hits a hurricanrana. TJP goes for a sunset flip, but Tozawa rolls through and kicks him, but TJP blocks the follow-up senton with his knees. Suddenly, Neville comes out, who says he is here to get a look at Tozawa. He takes a chair and rolls it over to the top of the stage before the commercial break. We come back to TJP bodyslamming Tozawa and hitting a slingshot senton bomb for a near fall. TJP controls the match until Tozawa lands on his feet off a back suplex and hits a bicycle kick. Tozawa goes to the top rope for a senton bomb, but TJP rolls out of the ring. Tozawa quickly hops down and hits a suicide dive before bringing TJP back in the ring. TJP manages to send Tozawa into the corner before hitting a chicken wing gutbuster for a near fall. TJP goes for the Detonation Kick, but Tozawa rolls out and hits a jumping roundhouse kick. Tozawa follows up with a snap side suplex before hitting the senton bomb for the three and the win. This was pretty good, I enjoyed this. After the match, Titus announces that he & Apollo Crews will be facing Sheamus & Cesaro and that Tozawa is close to signing with the Titus Brand. Neville takes a mic and tells Titus to watch what he says and warns Tozawa to stay away from him or else he will be annihilated. Titus says that Neville isn't a king, he's a scared little boy and the Neville Level will be annihilated by the Powa of Tozawa.
  • In a Truth Be Told Production, R-Truth accepts Goldust's invitation and says the Hand of Truth will smack him across the face.
  • In the locker room, Curtis Axel tries to cheer up Bo Dallas before The Miz shows up. He says they're so low on the card because of themselves and the action stars they were on the set of Marine 5 would be insulted by the comic relief they are on RAW. He offers them a spot in his Entourage, saying he can make them stars. He tells them to think about it before walking off.
  • Charly Caruso interviews Samoa Joe. He reminds everyone that he beat Roman Reigns the last time they faced off and says Reigns will leave tonight a broken man. He says he'll win the Universal Championship at Great Ball of Fire and tells Reigns to out respect on his name anytime he says it.
  • Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe-The two lock up before each man tries to knock the other one down. Joe pie faces Reigns, so Reigns gives him three right hands. Reigns follows up with a shoulder block, prompting Joe to roll out of the ring. Back in the ring, Joe strikes Reigns into the corner before the two trade blows. Joe hits a corner enziguri before going for the Coquina Clutch, but Reigns avoids it and rolls out of the ring. Back in the ring, the two brawl before Joe floors Reigns with a knee strike and a headbutt. Joe continues to strike away at Reigns until Reigns hits a Samoan Drop, prompting Joe to roll out of the ring. Reigns goes for the Drive-By Dropkick, but Joe avoids it and rams Reigns into the ring post. Joe hits a senton on the outside before the commercial break. We come back to Joe chopping Reigns in the back before kicking him and dropping an elbow for a near fall. Joe controls the match until Reigns dodges a senton. Reigns comes back and hits a big boot for a near fall before clotheslining Joe in the corner. Reigns follows up with a jumping clothesline and calls for the Superman Punch, but Joe rolls out of the ring to avoid. Reigns follows him out and hits the Drive-By Dropkick before rolling him back. Reigns goes for the Superman Punch again, but Joe catches him and hits an inverted atomic drop followed by a big boot and a senton for a near fall. Joe goes for the Uranage, but Reigns counters it with an arm drag and hits the Superman Punch for a near fall. Reigns goes for the Spear, but Joe blocks it with a knee and hits a Uranage, but Reigns kicks out. Joe tries for the Coquina Clutch again, but Reigns blocks it and hits a spear, but Joe is able to get his foot on the bottom rope for the rope break. Joe rolls out of the ring and barely beats the 10 count as Reigns calls for another spear. Suddenly, the big screen shows the backstage area where an ambulance is backing up...
He's back! Braun Strowman is back! This distraction is enough to allow Joe to lock in the Coquina Clutch for the submission win. This was a really good match. After the match, Strowman comes down to the ring and reminds everyone that HE'S NOT FINISHED WITH ROMAN REIGNS! He chokeslams Reigns before challenging him to an Ambulance match at Great Balls of Fire.
  • It's time for MizTV. Miz comes down to the ring with a big gift in the ring and two guys in  bear costumes holding up signs saying "I'm Sorry" and "Please Forgive Me." He brings out Maryse and points out that the bears are a Miz Bear and a Maryse Bear and that they're the It Couple of the bear community. I don't think Miz knows what that actually means. Maryse rejects a kiss from Miz, who apologizes for destroying the grandfather clock and knocking her off the apron. He tells her to open the gift in the ring, and it's the grandfather clock she gave him that he fixed. He says Maryse is his heart, his soul, his life, and everything to him. He apologizes again and says he'll never put her in harm's way again. Maryse accepts his apology and goes to kiss Miz, only for Dean Ambrose to come out. Miz tries to put Maryse between them, inadvertently spilling champagne on her. Miz goes after Ambrose but Ambrose sidesteps him and sends him into the clock, breaking it again. Man, that grandfather clock has taken more bumps than Goldberg did. Maryse shoves Miz away and leaves the ring again. Ambrose clotheslines Miz out of the ring, only for the bears to attack Ambrose. They take off their heads, revealing themselves as Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas. Miz, Axel, and Dallas beat down Ambrose before Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale.
  • Sheamus & Cesaro vs Apollo Crews & Titus O'Neil-Crews & Cesaro start off with Cesaro flooring Crews with a shoulder block. Crews responds with a dropkick before Sheamus tags in for a rolling senton for a near fall. Sheamus beats down Crews before Cesaro tags in and the two stomp away at Crews in the corner. Sheamus & Cesaro control the match until Crews hits an enziguri on Cesaro. Titus tags in and tosses Cesaro around the ring before splashing him in the corner. Sheamus makes a blind tag, but Titus dodges a diving clothesline and tags in Crews before hitting a powerslam. Crews follows up with a moonsault, but Cesaro breaks up the fall. Crews rolls up Sheamus for a near fall, only to get an uppercut from Cesaro before he & Sheamus hit an assisted-White Noise for the three and the win.
  • Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax-Alexa Bliss comes out before the match starts and takes a seat at commentary. The match starts during the commercial break and we come back to Jax throwing Sasha across the ring. Sasha goes to the top rope and hits a diving double knee strike as Emma comes over to the commentary table. Bliss shoves Emma, who chases her down to the ring. Bliss uses Jax as a shield, only for Jax to put her back in front of her. Emma tries to kick Bliss, but Bliss dodges and Jax gets kicked. The women brawl before Mickie James, Dana Brooke, and Bayley all run down. The babyfaces end up with a 4-on-1 advantage on Nia and kick her out of the ring.
  • Kurt Angle comes down to the ring to reveal who's been attacking Enzo Amore & Big Cass...this was the main event...why? Angle brings out Enzo & Cass, the Revival, and the Big Show. Angle first questions Show, asking him if he did it. Show says he wouldn't need to attack Enzo & Cass behind because they're both soft. He then says that if Angle really thought he would attack them after all the two of them have been through, then maybe he doesn't need to be on RAW anymore. Cass stands by his claim that Show attacked them, saying that the medical staff said he had a lump the size of a baseball on the back of his head after the attack, something only Big Show could do. However, Angle turns the attention to the Revival, pointing out that the attacks started when the Revival came. Dawson states their innocence, and Angle confirms that they are innocent. Angle says he'll get to the bottom of this, only for Corey Graves to start talking. He points out that no one on the medical team says they ever treated Cass, which Cass replies by saying it was the EMTs and not the WWE's medical team. Graves then shows security camera footage from last week, showing Cass completely staging the attack last week. Graves then says that Cass was never attacked and says Cass is the one who attacked Enzo. Enzo says there must be more than the video shows, but Cass admits it. Cass says Enzo does nothing but run his mouth and he's wanted to slap him several times. He says everyone backstage hates him and he felt bad for him, so he put up with him for years. He says it felt good to attack him, which actually causes Enzo Amore to cry on command. That's not easy, props to him for that. He says he wanted to watch Enzo suffer for all the crap he put up with for years. He says he stopped attacking Enzo to see if he would catch on, but what happened proofed he's dumber than he thought. He says Enzo has held him down and he's the reason he's never held a title in WWE. He solidifies it, saying the two of them are done before booting him in the face. Cass throws his T-shirt down and walks off as the show ends.

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse

Worst in the World: What is the Worst Wrestling Match of All Time?

Note: This series is based off a YouTube series " The Search for the Worst " by I Hate Everything, where he reviews every movie on IMDB's Bottom 100. It's a great, funny series and I'd recommend checking it out. Have you ever just thought to yourself "What is the worst match of all time?"? I don't mean something like a boring John Cena-Randy Orton match, I mean a match where the wrestlers have zero chemistry, little wrestling ability, or literally no idea what they are actually doing. I've thought about this for a while, and I've decided to finally figure it out. So I'm going to watch any match that is: a) A winner of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for the Worst Worked Match of the Year. or:  b) Listed on the 100 worst rated wrestling matches of all time on the Internet Wrestling Database .   (Note: Some matches appear on awards that aren't on the list.) There are 115 (EDIT: Now 99)  matches on here. I pu

Worst in the World: Trash at the Beach

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Just over a month ago, I briefly covered the massive success the WWF was having in 1999. Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock are at the top of the card. Triple H is on the rise to the main event. Mankind is playing the ultimate likable & respected babyface. Names like the Undertaker, Kane, and the Big Show are all major players. The undercard is stacked with big names like D-Generation X, D'Lo Brown, and Ken Shamrock, rising stars like The Hardy Boyz and Edge & Christian, and new signings like Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, and the Dudley Boyz. The WWF was so red hot in 1999 that even an all-time bad WrestleMania in WrestleMania XV couldn't slow them down. But there was one other factor that made 1999 such a good year for the WWF; the fact that their main competitor, WCW, was beginning to crack. At the same time the WWF was reaching the highest heights they'd ever reache
