- We kick off the show with the new NXT Champion Samoa Joe. Joe says him winning the championship was inevitable, he runs NXT now, and if anybody doesn't like that, he will take them down. Suddenly, a theme we've never heard before plays...IT'S ERIC YOUNG! OH MAN, THIS IS THE BEST EPISODE OF IMPACT WRESTLING EVER! Young says he collects championships, and since things changed for Joe, they're going to change for him. The two have a stare down before Joe leaves the ring because Young "doesn't belong in the same ring as him" and threatens to beat his ass.
- Nia Jax vs Tessa Blanchard-Nia squashed her. That is all
- Tye Dillinger vs Austin Aries-First off, Dillinger's new entrance: amazing. Second, they need to start selling the t-shirt Dillinger wears to the ring. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Surprisingly, the crowd is heavily behind Dillinger for this match at the start. Not that Dillinger is bad (I'm a huge mark for him), I just assumed Aries would get more cheers because he's a big name. The match is back and forth for the majority of the match until Dillinger hits a backbreaker. Dillinger works over Aries. The two trade blows and chops again before Aries is throw over the top rope onto the ring apron. Aries claps across Dillinger's head(?) and hits a slingshot senton bomb. Dillinger rolls out, only to be met with an Aries slingshot corkscrew body press. Aries hits a middle rope neckbreaker and goes for a dropkick in the corner, but Dillinger gets a boot up to block it, following it up with an fireman's carry into a neck-breaker on his knee for a two count. Dillinger calls for his one knee Codebreaker move...thing, but Aries catches him with a discuss clothesline and follows it up with a corner dropkick and a 450 splash for the win. Good match, I really enjoyed it.
- The Hype Bros vs The Revival-Poor Zack Ryder. One minute he's on top of the world, winning the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, and the next he's back in NXT teaming with ultimate goober Mojo Rawley. Ryder & Wilder start off, with Wilder taking advantage due to a distraction from Dawson. The Revival beats down Ryder until he pushes out of a bulldog by Wilder and makes the tag to Rawley. Rawley runs wild until Dawson makes a blind tag, allowing The Revival to hit the Shatter Machine for the win. Fine match, nothing special.
- Backstage, Alex Riley gets interviewed about his upcoming match with Shinsuke Nakamura. Dude, first the Drifter, then Riley. If Nakamura keeps destroying my least favorite wrestlers he's gonna be my favorite wrestler of all time. Bring Shane Douglas in for one match just so he can lose to Nakamura, that'll cement it. Riley says that he doesn't even know what Strong Style means, and that Nakamura is a tenth as strong as him and has "zero atheltic coordination." This is coming from the man who eliminated himself from the 2011 Royal Rumble, by the way. He then says he's a "raging lunatic" and that it's time to rage next week. Yeah, we all know Riley's a raging lunatic, have you seen him on Twitter lately? He's busy trying to feud with a podcast host.
- No Way Jose vs-No seriously, have you seen this? Alex Riley has been spending like the last week bitching about "The Solomonster" Jason Solomon from the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast. How sad is that?
This apparently stems from comments Solomonster said back in January that he looked like Triple H in 1999 "without the talent Triple H had." Why is this just now getting to him? That's from three months ago. Solomonster even says Riley cut a good promo on the show he was reviewing. He complimented him! And he's still pissy about it. Whatever, I can't wait for Alex Riley vs Solomonster at WrestleMania 33. Once in a Lifetime!
Now back to the show
- No Way Jose vs Noah Potjes-The match kicks off with like a solid minute of dancing. Seriously, just dancing. The crowd is loving it, chanting "JOSE!" to the tune of Ole by the Bouncing Souls (just like Sami Zayn). After a straight punch from Potjes, Jose actually stops goofing around and goes to work, taking down Potjes with double chops and a one handed bulldog. Jose hits a straight punch, followed by a pullback full nelson slam for the win. Squash match, nothing much.
- Backstage, my new favorite backstage interviewer Cathy Kelly interviews Austin Aries while he holds a banana.
She congratulates him on his success in NXT so far, while he congratulates her on looking good. He says after the initial buzz of him signing with NXT, he seems to be flying under the radar. He says he's going to put in a little more initiative to get the fans excited again, and then leaves to eat his banana.
- Eric Young vs Samoa Joe-And now ladies and gentlemen, it's time for your TNA Impact Wrestling MAIN EVENT! Yeah, surprised they decided to have this match already, I imagined they would have saved it for another time. The two exchange wristlocks to start the match before switching to exchanging strikes. Young is able to take control with a swinging neck breaker, but Joe tosses him from the ring shortly after and follows it up with a suicide dive before the commercial break. We come back with Joe in firm control, taking out Young with a body avalanche followed by an enziguri for a two count. Joe dominates for the majority of the match. Joe continually cuts off any attempts at a comeback by Young, muscling him around the ring the entire match. Young is able to flip over the turnbuckle onto the ring apron (very impressive, I've never seen him do that before) and slides under Joe. Young runs wild, suplexing Joe and hitting a top rope elbow drop for a two count. Young calls for the piledriver (in WWE? Yeah right.) but Joe fights out and hits the corner STO. Joe hits the Muscle Buster and locks in the Coquina Clutch. Good match, but not as good as I expected.
