WrestleMania is right around the corner, Maggle! In only 10 days, WrestleMania 32 will emanate from Cowboys Stadium, Dean Ambrose & Brock Lesnar will probably have a brutal street fight, Shane McMahon will probably main event, and Roman Reigns will probably get booed out of the building for the second year in a row. And while seeing the inevitable Reigns victory will suck (and with no briefcase to save us this year) this might be rough. But even most people don't like Roman Reigns, his match with Triple H will more than likely be good. Unlike this one. At WrestleMania VIII, Tag Team Champions Money Inc. (Ted Dibiase & IRS) defended their belts against The Natural Disasters Earthquake & The Shockmaster Typhoon. That's pretty ironic, because this match is a disaster (*self-high fives for excellent pun*).
Money Inc. starts tagging each other in to toy with Earthquake, ending with Dibiase in with the Quake. Earthquake over powers Dibiase to start, and runs wild on Money Inc., with Typhoon joining in and sending the heels to the outside. Despite not tagging in, IRS enters the ring and tries to lock in a wristlock on Earthquake, but he reverses it into one of his own. Typhoon tags in and beats up IRS for a bit until IRS dodges a corner splash and tags in Dibiase, who immediately gets sh*t on by Typhoon and gets worked over by the former Tugboat. Typhoon charges at Dibiase, who is stuck in the ropes, but Dibiase dodges and sends Typhoon to the outside, after Typhoon failed to get over on his first attempt.
Money Inc. takes control, hitting a double clothesline that Typhoon stumbles into, and a double back elbow. Typhoon is able to force IRS into the Natural Disasters corner and makes a visual tag to Earthquake, but the ref didn't see it and sends Quake back, allowing Money Inc. to regain control. After a horribly contrived double clothesline spot, Typhoon makes the hot tag to Earthquake as the crowd goes mild. The Disasters run wild on Money Inc., with Typhoon hitting a big splash and Earthquake calls for the Earthquake Splash on IRS, but Money Inc's manager Jimmy Hart pulls him out of the ring and Money Inc take a count-out loss. This is one of the worst cliches of Hogan-era wrestling. Why are people having matches end in DQ AT WRESTLEMANIA! This is supposed to be the biggest show of the year, almost like the season finale, and we get an inconclusive finish. B*llshit.
The Verdict
The match was fine, nothing too horrendous. Typhoon isn't very coordinated, he stumbles, and he loses his balance a lot, but that's pretty much the worst thing. I'd put it higher if it had a conclusive finish, but it didn't, so it's losing a few spots.
