SummerSlam 2016 Predictions

Pre-Show

Match #1: Cesaro vs Sheamus-Best of 7 Series Match #1
Winner: Sheamus

Yeah, more Cesaro & Sheamus matches! Man, there have not been enough of these yet. Especially in the las month! Yeah, even though these two tend to have good matches together (their match at Night of Champions 2014 was great), the fact that we've seen these two go head-to-head twice in the last month has pretty much drained any interest I have in this match. Since Cesaro won both those matches, I have a feeling Sheamus will pick up the win tomorrow. Especially since Cesaro can just get his win back at some point.

Match #2: Sami Zayn & Neville vs The Dudley Boyz
Winners: Sami Zayn & Neville

Fun fact: It will be one whole year this Wednesday since the Dudley Boyz came back to WWE. One of the most legendary tag teams in history...and they're on the pre-show. Jesus. They square off against the team of Sami Zayn & Neville and they are most definitely losing. Based on the last two weeks it seems like the Dudleyz are going to split up, and a loss at SummerSlam could be the final blow.

Match #3: American Alpha, The Hype Bros, and The Usos vs Breezango, The Ascension, and The Vaudevillians
Winners: Breezango, The Ascension, and The Vaudevillians

Seriously...they're doing this again. They just did it on SmackDown, come on. Whatever. Since the babyfaces won on SmackDown, I'm going with the heels getting their win back.

Main Card

Match #1: Carmella, Becky Lynch, and Naomi vs Natalya, Alexa Bliss, and Eva Marie
Winners: Carmella, Becky Lynch, and Naomi

Well, after weeks of Eva Marie avoiding wrestling via traffic, injuries, and wardrobe malfunctions, now she has a real reason not to wrestle. Yesterday, Eva Marie got suspended for her first violation of the Wellness Policy. This leaves a spot open in her match at SummerSlam, as she was supposed to team with Natalya & Alexa Bliss to face Carmella, Becky Lynch, and Naomi. Whether they replace Eva or just change it to a tag match, I'm going with the babyfaces to win.

Match #2: The Miz (c) vs Apollo Crews-Intercontinental Championship
Winner: The Miz

I'm just going to be honest...I'm not too interested in this match. I mean, like both guys, but nothing about this interests me. As much as I like Crews and want him to be big in WWE, I'm going with Miz to retain.

Match #3: Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs Jeri-KO
Winners: Jeri-KO

Jeri-KO is great. They're two of the of straight up most entertaining guys in WWE right now and they are just as entertaining together. I even like them more than I like Enzo & Cass right now. That's saying something. I'm seriously hoping this isn't just a one-off team and Jericho & Owens stay together for a while. Part of me wants to pick Enzo & Cass just because they've been together longer and seem more like a real tag team, but I'm going with Jeri-KO for the win.

Match #4: The New Day (c) vs Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson-Tag Team Championships
Winners: Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson

Balls. That's what this feud has been about. It really is a shame that two tag teams who are so talented have been regulated to a feud almost solely based around testicle attacks. Anyways, I'm going with Gallows & Anderson for the win in this match. I think the New Day have peaked as Tag Team Champions and have done all they can. Gallows & Anderson need a big win after playing the role of AJ Styles' henchmen for months and beating the W-W-E-TAG-TEAM-CHAMPIONS would be huge.

Match #5: Sasha Banks (c) vs Charlotte-Women's Championship
Winner: Sasha Banks

After tearing it up on the first RAW of the brand split, Women's Champion Sasha Banks faces off with Charlotte again for the belt at SummerSlam. I expect this to be very good and hopefully they get a lot of time to work. Part of me thinks that Charlotte will do some sneaky heel stuff to pick up the win and get her title back, but I think it would be borderline criminal to take the belt off of Sasha so soon into her title reign. I'm going with The Boss for the win

Match #6: Rusev (c) vs Roman Reigns-United States Championship
Winner: Rusev

This match makes my brain hurt. Not only did Reigns not deserve a title shot when he was given it, but they gave this match away for free on TV six days before SummerSlam. Zero sense. Since Reigns won on Monday against Rusev, I expect Rusev to get his win back tomorrow. Via interference, of course.

Match #7: John Cena vs AJ Styles
Winner: AJ Styles

OK...I know that this is a bold choice. I know that history favors the exact opposite of what I'm picking. I know the idea of what I'm predicting seems like something only fantasy bookers think up. And to be honest, how bad I want it to happen might be clouding my judgment. But I'm picking AJ Styles to beat John Cena at SummerSlam. AJ Styles needs to beat John Cena. Here's why. If WWE wants to really cement that this is a "new era", then the newer guy needs to beat the guy who's been on top for over ten years. Cena's supposedly going part time soon, so the least he could do is put over AJ Styles. We can only hope.

Match #8: Dean Ambrose (c) vs Dolph Ziggler-WWE World Championship
Winner: Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose defends the WWE World Championship against arguably the least credible challenger since R-Truth at Capital Punishment, Dolph Ziggler. It pains me to write that because I think Ziggler is great and his promos have been very good lately, but all the years of Ziggler being misused and jobbed out have pretty much drained any hope I had to see Ziggler as World Champion. Then he won the #1 Contenders match and I was initially excited, but then I remembered this was the same guy who was in a go nowhere feud with Baron Corbin a few months ago. While I wouldn't put it past WWE to swerve us and have Ziggler get a big upset win, I just can't see Ziggler winning this. I'm picking Ambrose for the win.

Match #9: Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins-Universal Championship
Winner: Finn Balor

Finn Balor & Seth Rollins face off to crown the first ever Universal Champion at SummerSlam. This is going to be the first time the two have ever faced off not only in WWE but anywhere. I expect this be an absolute banger of a match that is must see. As for who wins, I'm going with

Match #10: Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton

Winner: Brock Lesnar

I've wanted to see this match for a long time, and it's finally happening tomorrow at SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton. Then again, I wanted this match to happen before Lesnar did nothing but suplexes all match and not sell anything. So yeah, I'm not as excited for this match as much as I would've been a few years ago. As for who wins, I'm going with Lesnar. Now that the Streak is gone, the star-making accomplishment in wrestling now is "Beat Brock Lesnar Clean", and Randy Orton is not the guy who needs that achievement. I'm going with Brock for the win.

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse

Worst in the World: What is the Worst Wrestling Match of All Time?

Note: This series is based off a YouTube series " The Search for the Worst " by I Hate Everything, where he reviews every movie on IMDB's Bottom 100. It's a great, funny series and I'd recommend checking it out. Have you ever just thought to yourself "What is the worst match of all time?"? I don't mean something like a boring John Cena-Randy Orton match, I mean a match where the wrestlers have zero chemistry, little wrestling ability, or literally no idea what they are actually doing. I've thought about this for a while, and I've decided to finally figure it out. So I'm going to watch any match that is: a) A winner of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for the Worst Worked Match of the Year. or:  b) Listed on the 100 worst rated wrestling matches of all time on the Internet Wrestling Database .   (Note: Some matches appear on awards that aren't on the list.) There are 115 (EDIT: Now 99)  matches on here. I pu

Combining high-flying, death-defying wrestling with heavily stylized, cinematic segments that more closely resembled an AMC show than what you'd see on Monday Night Raw, Lucha Underground was a hit. Along with just being a unique, enjoyable wrestling experience, the show also provided a launching pad for several of the wrestlers, whether they be American wrestlers getting their biggest exposure to date in Ricochet (Prince Puma) and Jeff Cobb (Matanza Cueto), ex-WWE superstar John Morrison finding new life as Johnny Mundo, or luchadors like Pentagon Jr. and Fenix branching out into the United States. The latter is the case for Sexy Star. Debuting in 2006, Sexy Star would spend the first eight years of her career wrestl
