16 Current Roster Wrestlers That Should Be Added For WWE 2K17

WhatCulture.com
WWE 2K16 is only three and a half months old now, so it's about time to start talking about WWE 2K17. While 2K16 was a good game and huge step forward from the overall disappointment of 2K15, there are still improvements needed (specifically towards Career mode). One of the things 2K16 has boasted is the largest roster in WWE video game history. While that is true, there were still some omissions who were left out for less important stars (guys like...Savio Vega) or for some (to be frank) bullsh*t reasons (*cough cough* The Four Horsewomen *cough*). And along with the new members of the real life roster, 2K17's roster is gearing up to top 2K16's. Here, I'm going to give my 16 suggestions for the next game's roster. Without further ado, here are 16 current WWE wrestlers who should be added to WWE 2K17

16. Carmella

WWE on YouTube
Since Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady made it into 2K16, it's only fitting that 2K add Carmella  to complete the trio for 2K17. The Princess of Staten Island has also been getting more time to wrestle as of late, even getting a NXT Women's Championship match on Wednesday's NXT episode. Basically what I'm saying is that if 2K doesn't include Carmella in the next game, than they are S-A-W-F-T

15. Rhyno

skysports.com
Rhyno made a shocking return to WWE down in NXT almost one year ago, and unlike Brian Kendrick or Too Cool, actually stayed around and wrestled more than one match. His highest profile matches since his return were when he teamed with Baron Corbin in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, losing to Finn Balor & Samoa Joe in the finals. Along with that, he made brief return to the main roster during the Dudleyz-Wyatts feud. Seeing how Rhyno and WWE are clearly back on good terms, I think The Man Beast would be a great addition to the roster for 2K17

14. Dana Brooke

villains.wikia.com
The self proclaimed "Total Diva" (why would you want to be a Total Diva, that show is awful) has made a big impact since debuting in NXT in April. Her team with Emma has been great recently, and she's become on of the more entertaining characters in NXT. The only downside of her being in 2K17 would be that there wouldn't be a virtual Devin Taylor for her to pat on the head. But whatever, she would be a great addition to the game's Divas roster.

13. Alexa Bliss

alexablisshq.tumblr.com
Another case of a team being included without their manager, Alexa Bliss was apparently confirmed for 2K16, but oddly didn't make the cut. That's a shame, first because Blake and Murphy both made it into the game (via DLC), and second because she's really come into her own since turning heel. Her promos are better, her facial expressions are damn near perfect, and she's just a thousand times more interesting now than when she was a...glittery, flippy girl? Whatever, she's great now and that's all that matters, so she should be in 2K17

12. American Alpha

dailywrestlingnews.com
These guys are incredible. Like, by far the best tag team in NXT right now. Maybe even WWE at this point. Chad Gable is such an incredible wrestler, especially for someone so new to wrestling, and Jason Jordan has by far the hottest hot tag in wrestling today. American Alpha would be a great addition for 2K17 and the tag division

11. Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows

wrestlingnewspost.com
Though Anderson & Gallows have yet to debut (or have a specific debut date set) in WWE, the duo will hopefully be showing up in time to be part of 2K17. As two of the four wrestlers to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling for WWE last month, the team have quite the resume in wrestling, having held the IWGP Tag Team Championships three times as members of the Bullet Club. Whatever the future holds for these guys will likely be big (especially if that future involves the Balor Club) and we should hopefully be seeing Anderson & Gallows in 2K17

10. Austin Aries

bleacherreport.com
Another wrestler who has yet to debut in NXT (on TV, anyway) who should be added for 2K17 is Austin Aries. The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion already has been set up for a feud with Baron Corbin, and he will hopefully be getting a big push in the future. Having done voice work for WWE 12, it would be great for the The Greatest Man That Ever Lived to make an actual appearance in WWE 2K17

9. Nia Jax

WWE.com
Despite the loss at Takeover: London, Nia Jax is still being positioned as one of the top women in NXT. Since her debut in October, she has only one loss on her record, and is currently the heavy for Full Sail's favorite wrestler Eva Marie. With her being pushed as a dominant monster and being paired with one of the top female heels in NXT, she would be a good addition for WWE 2K17.

8. Apollo Crews

bleacherreport.com
Since his debut at Takeover: Brooklyn, Apollo Crews has been getting a sizable push. While not positioned as a top guy yet, he's more of an upper midcarder, occasionally challenging for the NXT Championship. I see big things for Crews in the future, who is an absolutely tremendous wrestler who can pull off moves that aren't usually seen by a man his size. Until he gets the big push he deserves, a spot in 2K17 would be great.

7. Shinsuke Nakamura

WWE.com
Nakamura will be making his NXT debut at Takeover: Dallas on April 1st, and I'm more excited than Tyler, the Creator was when he found out about Bacon Soap. The King of Strong Style is widely considered one of the best wrestlers in the world, having won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Wrestler of the Year in 2014, and won the Match of the Year for his match with Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 9. Since he will officially be showing up by April, I think the King of Strong Style would be a great addition for 2K17.

6. Asuka

WWE on YouTube
Asuka has been getting the Brock Lesnar treatment since she debuted in October. She's been booked as an unstoppable ass kicker who has torn threw everyone from enhancement talent like Billie Kay & Deonna to former main roster Divas like Cameron & Emma, and is all set to be in the NXT Women's Championship picture. What better way to continue the solid run Asuka has had than to add her to the roster for WWE 2K17.

5. Alberto Del Rio

WWE on YouTube
After his unceremonious departure in 2014, it was safe to assume that Del Rio would not be included in 2K16. And he wasn't. But now that he's returned and has been featured heavily on TV in the United States Championship scene, it's safe to say he'll be back for 2K17. Expect the Mexican Aristocrat to return to the roster.

4.  Braun Strowman

411mania.com
Since he debuted August, Strowman has been portrayed as a monster who can't be toppled (unless he's fighting Brock Lesnar). While he hasn't had much exposure in the ring yet (he barely wrestles), he has been a big part of the Wyatt Family. Since he debuted too late to be in 2K16, it would only make sense to include The Black Sheep to complete the stable for 2K17

3. The Dudley Boyz

bleacherreport.com
Two other wrestlers that returned too late to be on the roster for 2K16 were Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley. The Dudley Boyz returned to RAW the night after SummerSlam, and received a few shots at the Tag Team Championships. While their return has been rocky, their recent heel turn should reignite interest in the team. It would be pretty foolish to exclude the legendary tag team from the roster in 2K17.

2. The Four Horsewomen

411mania.com
As I mentioned at the beginning, 2K's reasons for not including the Four Horsewomen in 2K16 are total bullsh*t. The argument that the character models and entrances weren't finished in time to even be DLC became completely invalid when they announced Samoa Joe, who has been in WWE for less than a year, as DLC. Now that 3/4 of the group are on the main roster, and the other fourth is the NXT Women's Champion, 2K need to correct the mistake they made and include Bayley, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch in 2K17

1. AJ Styles

411mania.com
It is still just so incredible that AJ Styles is finally in WWE. After 14 years of tearing it up in Ring of Honor, TNA, and New Japan Pro Wrestling, The Phenomenal One finally made his debut in the Royal Rumble match. So now that he's finally here, it's almost required that Styles make it onto the roster for 2K17. It would be Styles first video game appearance since TNA Impact in 2008 (Remember that? That terrible game with great graphics.), and I think it's time he got another video game appearance under his resume.

And that's my list of additions for 2K17. Thanks for reading.

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse

Worst in the World: Nia Jax's Worst Matches

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Nia Jax's first run with the WWE can really only be described as hard to watch. Sure, she had a few stand-out matches, most notably (and surprisingly) her match with Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, and an underrated gem with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: London, but those were always outshined by her most infamous matches and moments. She's since returned to WWE and, for the most part, seems to have improved a bit, but the reputation she got from her initial run is gonna be hard to shake off. This week, I'll be looking at some of Jax's worst matches. These include just flat-out bad matches, and matches that have become infamous examples of her reckless in-ring work. Match #1: vs Charlotte Flair-April 10th, 2017 Raw The first match we'll be looking at is from the April 10, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, when Nia took on Charlotte Flair. The two had been on the losing e

Worst in the World: Carmella vs Asuka: How to Destroy an Aura

Throughout the entire history of the WWE, we've never seen, and probably will never see again, a woman booked as strong as Asuka was to start her run. Coming into WWE in 2015 with over a decade of experience wrestling in her native Japan as Kana, Asuka was immediately treated like a huge deal. Hell, even from the first time we saw her on a WWE broadcast, she was seated in the crowd of NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn next to two Hall of Famers in Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter. Officially debuting in October 2015, Asuka would go her entire NXT career, nearly two full years, without being pinned or submitted. She was booked so strong, in fact, that instead of dropping the NXT Women's Championship in what would be her last match in NXT at the time to Ember Moon (even after sustaining an injury), an act that is almost always the case for champions leaving NXT for the main roster, Asuka retained and later vacated the title, keeping her streak intact. For a company that is more than willing t
