NXT Takeover: London Predictions

The NXT Takeover series is going over seas for the first time in history with NXT Takeover: London. What started as a little show for wrestlers to develop their skills on TV, NXT has become a must-see show for wrestling fans, featuring some of the best wrestling, storylines, and characters in wrestling today. Now, NXT Takeover is leaving Full Sail University in Florida for the first since Takeover: Brooklyn, and going overseas and setting up at the Wembley Arena in London. With the show this Wednesday, I thought I'd give my predictions for the full card.

Asuka vs Emma

Winner: Asuka

If given enough time, this could be the sleeper match at Takeover. Both Emma and Asuka are fantastic wrestlers, and putting them together should be pure magic. Emma's experienced a kind of career resurgence since coming back to NXT, and her pairing with Dana Brooke has been great (side note: I absolutely love Dana Brooke. She's still got ways to go as a wrestler, but she's got me sold on her as a character). Despite that, she has no chance against Asuka. Asuka been booked like an unstoppable beast since her debut, basically becoming the female Brock Lesnar. I predict she's gonna be challenging for the NXT Women's Championship in the very near future, and as much as I love Emma, I don't see her at that point right now. Expect Asuka to win, probably by knockout.

Apollo Crews vs Baron Corbin

Winner: Apollo Crews

I think that Baron Corbin might be the most improved wrestler of 2015. Ever since he stopped squashing all the Steve Cutlers of NXT quicker than it took you to read that sentence, he's been having programs with some of the company's best workers like Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, and Chad Gable, and it's shown because he's improved leaps and bounds since he debuted. This match with Crews should be very good, as Crews is up there with Balor and Joe as one of the best in NXT. This one is little tough, but I'm going with Crews. I have no doubt in my mind that Crews is a future NXT Champion, and him continuing his undefeated streak against Corbin would be the right way to go.

Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder (c) vs Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady-NXT Tag Team Championships

Winners: Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady

As good as Dawson & Wilder are, they just have "transitional champs" written all over them. Giving the belts to Enzo & Big Cass is LONG overdue. They've been the most over tag team (maybe the most over people period) in NXT for a long time now, and have been consistently entertaining for years. I feel the company missed a huge opportunity by not having the two win the titles at Brooklyn, but giving it to them in London would make up for it. I'm picking the Realest Guys in the Room.

Bayley (c) vs Nia Jax-NXT Women's Championship

Winner: Nia Jax

I'm gonna be completely honest, these last two matches were insanely for me to pick between. This one was actually the hardest to pick. On one hand, you've got Bayley, who's pretty much just began her title reign, and it doesn't really seem like she's being called up anytime soon, which is a strong case to keep the title on her. On the other hand however, you've got Nia Jax, someone who's been booked as an unstoppable monster, who's so much bigger and stronger than everyone else that she can't possibly be beaten, and is unbeaten, so keeping that streak alive is another strong case to put the title on her. Outside of these two, I don't think there are many other women even remotely ready to be champion. Dana Brooke & Alexa Bliss both need work in ring, Peyton Royce & Billie Kay are both still being used as enhancement talent, and Eva Marie...that one's pretty self-explanatory. I don't think anyone else could be champion besides these two. Except one person...Auska. Asuka is probably the only other person who could be champion, and if she's going to be in line for the championship, then I think (and it hurts to write this, because Bayley is my absolute favorite female wrestler in NXT right now) that they're going to give Nia Jax the win.

Finn Balor (c) vs Samoa Joe-NXT Championship

Winner: Samoa Joe

This was another hard pick. Balor and Joe don't seem to be getting called up soon(and from what I've read, Joe might never get called up) so either one of these two winning the belt seems entirely possible. Balor has been great as champion, putting on great matches with Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens, and I would hate to see him lose the belt. But Samoa Joe has been putting in some of his best work in a long time, and putting the belt on him continue that momentum. Joe has yet to be beaten in NXT, and while having Balor end that streak isn't completely out of the question, I think it would be better to keep that streak in tact. It might be weird to predict that every title on the show changes hands, but that's what I'm going with, and I'm picking Samoa Joe over Finn Balor.

That's it for the predictions. This show is going to be very interesting, as the two biggest matches on the card are very unpredictable. I think that's actually better, because I feel like some of the past events haven't exactly had that unpredictability factor come with it. I think everyone knew that Sami Zayn was beating Adrian Neville at R Evolution, Finn Balor was beating Kevin Owens at Beast in the East, and that Bayley was beating Sasha Banks at Brooklyn. Well, that's all, enjoy the show this Wednesday.

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20...

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like...

Worst in the World: Nia Jax's Worst Matches

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Nia Jax's first run with the WWE can really only be described as hard to watch. Sure, she had a few stand-out matches, most notably (and surprisingly) her match with Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, and an underrated gem with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: London, but those were always outshined by her most infamous matches and moments. She's since returned to WWE and, for the most part, seems to have improved a bit, but the reputation she got from her initial run is gonna be hard to shake off. This week, I'll be looking at some of Jax's worst matches. These include just flat-out bad matches, and matches that have become infamous examples of her reckless in-ring work. Match #1: vs Charlotte Flair-April 10th, 2017 Raw The first match we'll be looking at is from the April 10, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, when Nia took on Charlotte Flair. The two had been on the losing e...

Worst in the World: Eric Young & Shark Boy vs Generation Me-TNA Destination X 2011

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, few tag teams made as much noise on the independent scene as the Young Bucks. Really breaking out at a time when WWE made their tag division a borderline afterthought, Matt & Nick Jackson were almost unmatched in terms of elite matches on the indys, most notably in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla & Ring of Honor before joining New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Bullet Club, becoming mainstays of the group as it reached its peak throughout the mid-2010s. Sure, their style hasn't endeared them to old-school wrestling fans, but you can't deny their impact on wrestling. And with the arrival of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, North American fans would finally get to see the Young Bucks on national television for the first time... However... In what has become somewhat of a footnote in their careers, the Young Bucks had been on a nationally televised wrestlin...

Worst in the World: Carmella vs Asuka: How to Destroy an Aura

Throughout the entire history of the WWE, we've never seen, and probably will never see again, a woman booked as strong as Asuka was to start her run. Coming into WWE in 2015 with over a decade of experience wrestling in her native Japan as Kana, Asuka was immediately treated like a huge deal. Hell, even from the first time we saw her on a WWE broadcast, she was seated in the crowd of NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn next to two Hall of Famers in Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter. Officially debuting in October 2015, Asuka would go her entire NXT career, nearly two full years, without being pinned or submitted. She was booked so strong, in fact, that instead of dropping the NXT Women's Championship in what would be her last match in NXT at the time to Ember Moon (even after sustaining an injury), an act that is almost always the case for champions leaving NXT for the main roster, Asuka retained and later vacated the title, keeping her streak intact. For a company that is more than willing t...
