Worst in the World: The House of Horrors Match-Payback 2017

(NOTE: Before this post starts, I wanted to give a heads up. Throughout this review, there are GIFs that contain bright, flashing lights on repeat. If you suffer from p hotosensitive epilepsy, it might be best to skip this post) Over a year ago, I covered Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt's WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 33 , the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's "winner" of the Worst Match of the Year award. While the match was nothing above subpar, especially for a world title match at WrestleMania, and featured... whatever that was, I mentioned in my post that I didn't think that it was actually the worst match of the year. In fact, I gave not one, but four matches as examples of matches I thought were worse than it in 2017. So, allow me to put my money where my mouth is and cover those four matches over the next two months. And what better place to start than with the follow up to Orton & Wyatt's WrestleMania stinker. After Orton's victory, Wyatt wo...

My Thoughts on Payback

By the way, nice edit on that yellow poster, WWE! There was definitely nothing under "When it Reigns", and it certainly wasn't "It Bores".   Well, Payback is in the books (in the pocket, out of sight) and it was definitely...a show. Yeah...it was just a show. Here are my thoughts on Payback last night. Pre-Show Dolph Ziggler def. Baron Corbin "Hey, how do you build a new guy up to be a star?" Simple, by making him lose clean his first pay-per-view singles match. Even better, you bump his match to the pre-show. That'll get people interested! Corbin battered Ziggler for the majority of the match, including an alley-oop into the ring post on the outside. However, Ziggler ended up rolling up Corbin for the win. This makes no sense whatsoever. Why have the new guy who could very well be one of the next top heels on the main roster do the job in his first pay-per-view singles match to arguably the most directionless wrestler WWE has right now ...

Payback 2016 Predictions

After a pretty disapointing WrestleMania, it's Payback time!...even though only one of the matches on the card is a WrestleMania rematch...and it's on the pre-show. Anyway, with 8 matches on the card and four guys on the poster who don't have a match on the card, here are my predictions for Payback 2016 Pre Show 1. Kalisto (c) vs Ryback-United States Championship Winner: Ryback In the only rematch on the card, Kalisto defends the United States Championship against the Big Guy Ryback. Kalisto retained the title at WrestleMania, and these two have done literally done nothing since. I'm going with Ryback for the win just because the last time they fought on Smackdown (on Smackdown...) Ryback got the win. Main Card 1. Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin Winner: Baron Corbin Since Baron Corbin made his debut on the RAW after WrestleMania, he has been beating the piss out of Dolph Ziggler...a lot. So it's only natural that the two face off at Payback. Corbin ...
