Four years. That's how long ago I started the Worst in the World. In that time, I've covered 111 matches...but this is the one I've wanted to cover for the longest time. Back when I made the original list for this series, I came up with 115 matches based on ratings from Dave Meltzer and winners of the Worst Match of the Year Award from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. What I didn't take into account was that quite a few of those matches were house show matches that I would never be able to find...but then there's this match. Unlike those random house show matches, this match was aired on television. It took place in 2006, so there should've been some video of it somewhere. Theoretically, I should've been able to watch this match with ease...but no. It was nowhere on YouTube, nowhere on Dailymotion...this match didn't exist anywhere on the Internet it seems. I probably could've found it if I had found some shady website that would've unloaded...

Last week, I covered Sting vs Tony Palmore from New Japan Pro Wrestling's Battle 7, a terrible match that tried to blend professional wrestling with shootfighting, in this case, kickboxing. This match gave a glimpse into "Inoki-ism", a term used to describe then New Japan owner Antonio Inoki's obsession with trying to combine professional wrestling with real fighting, mixed martial arts specifically, that would ruin NJPW for years until he was forced out of the company. After how poorly this went for Inoki and New Japan, you'd have to be an idiot to try and do what they did by trying to blend MMA and pro wrestling as hard as they did...on an unrelated note, TNA. Years after Inoki was gone from New Japan, TNA tried to incorporate the world of MMA into their company, usually to poor results. After a successful Royal Rumble, we are one pay-per-view away from WrestleMania. All that's left in between is Fastlane, a show that last year had only one decisive win on a seven match card, and that of course was by Roman Reigns. Hopefully this year they can right their wrong and put on a good show. Here are my predictions for the show this Sunday. Pre-Show 1. Kalisto (c) vs Alberto Del Rio-2-out-of-3 Falls-United States Championship Winner: Kalisto In one of the many rubber matches on this card, Kalisto defends the United States Championship against Alberto Del Rio in a 2-out-of-3 Falls match. Despite putting on fairly good matches, it's been done to death and has very little interest. WhatCulture.com WWE 2K16 is only three and a half months old now, so it's about time to start talking about WWE 2K17. While 2K16 was a good game and huge step forward from the overall disappointment of 2K15, there are still improvements needed (specifically towards Career mode). Royal Rumble bound? Maybe. Ever since the reports earlier this month about several New Japan Pro Wrestling stars signing with WWE, the company has given very vague, inconclusive comments about the situation. They've written articles and done interviews with Finn Balor and Matt Bloom , but nothing has actually been confirmed either. The rumors of Shinsuke Nakamura (who vacated the IWGP Intercontinental Championship) reporting to the Performance Center in Florida and reports of Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson going to NXT have also surfaced, but nothing yet as been confirmed. Nakamura, Gallows, and Anderson have been quiet since the rumors came out. AJ Styles, on the other hand, has only been fueling the fire on the rumors of his debut, by giving off a few contradictory statements. WWE.com Following up yesterday's news that AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows all signed with WWE , WWE.com has posted an article addressing the rumor mill . The article addresses mostly what is already known about the situation: The four reportedly have all told New Japan Pro Wrestling they are done with the promotion, and are singing with WWE. According to the article, Triple H has declined to comment on the rumors. The article briefly explains Styles, Anderson, and Gallows involvement in the Bullet Club, and even acknowledges Finn Balor's past as the original leader of the Bullet Club. The article calls the possible of additions of the four as "one of the most significant bulk talent acquisitions in WWE history". Each of the men's previous accolades are listed (minus Styles' TNA accolades because "LOL TNA"), and Gallows previous run in the company and Anderson's time as head trainer Matt Bloom (Tensai)'s tag...

F4WOnline is reporting that New Japan Pro Wrestling stars AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows have all left the promotion and have signed with WWE. This news broke within 24 hours of the conclusion NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 10, the company's version of WrestleMania, where Nakamura successfully defended IWGP Intercontinental Championship against Styles, and Anderson & Gallows dropped the IWGP Tag Team Championships to the Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma). It was reported in the article by Bryan Rose that the four approached NJPW booker Gedo and told him they would be leaving. Nakamura, who is still the IWGP Intercontinental Champion, will most likely drop the title before leaving. This would come as a huge blow to NJPW, as the four are major stars in the promotion.
