WrestleMania IV; One of the biggest clusterf*cks in WWE history. After the infamous "Two Hebner's" incident went down on The Main Event, where Andre the Giant pinned Hulk Hogan to win the WWF Championship with the help of an imposter referee Earl Hebner, trading places with his brother Dave. Andre then sold the title to Ted Dibiase, only for president Jack Tunney to declare the sale invalid and make the title vacant. The new champion would be crowned in a 14-man tournament held entirely at WrestleMania IV featuring some of the biggest names in the WWF. Hogan. Savage. Andre. Dibiase...Dino Bravo...Unfortunately, this made the card go especially long, as the fans had to sit through 16 matches in about 3 and a half hours. And because of that, the majority of the matches went very quick, with the main event and tournament final not even making it past nine and a half minutes. One of those matches in the tournament was a first round match-up between Jake Roberts and Rick Ru...

Welp...Rick Rude is back. He couldn't even stay away for one entry. This time, he goes up against Masahiro Chono, who is defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. And to top it off, this match features both Harley Race and Kensuke Sasaki as special guest referees, and features Madusa in Rude's corner. I don't know about you, but this seems to have "bullsh*t" written all over it. There's not much more to say, so let's get into this. The two lock up to start the match, with Rude forcing Chono into the corner and breaking the hold. They repeat the spot before Rude starts clubbing away on Chono, which goes on for a while before Chono hits a hip toss. Rude slaps on a headlock, which he holds for a while until Chono hits a side suplex. The two exchange hammer locks, followed by a face lock by Chono and Rude going back to clubbing away on Chono. This might not sound too bad, but this is five minutes into the match and this is all I've got to writ...

Some tag wrestlers go on to have very successful singles careers after they split from their tag partner. Guys like Shawn Michaels, Scott Steiner, and Booker T all went on to become main event superstars after successful runs in The Rockers, The Steiner Brothers, and Harlem Heat, respectively. Some wrestlers, however, don't see that kind of success...like Hawk. One half of the legendary Road Warriors & Legion of Doom, Hawk worked much better in tag matches with the help of his partner Animal. Despite this, Hawk would occasionally get placed in a singles match every now and then, even at one point (and I'm not joking) challenging RIC FLAIR FOR THE NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP. The match I look at in this post, however, is against Rick Rude at Clash of the Champion XXV.
