Some people see him as a creative genius that wrote some of the highest-rated segments in WWF history. Others see him as a terrible writer whose ideas led to the death of WCW. He's easily one of, if not the most polarizing figures in the history of professional wrestling. But even the most adamant Vince Russo supporters have to agree on one thing...Vince Russo should never have stepped foot in a wrestling ring. You would be seriously hard-pressed to find a single year for a single company that has gotten covered as much as 2000 WCW has. Even 1995, one of, if not the worst year for professional wrestling as a whole, hasn't had as many contributions to Worst in the World that just WCW has for just 2000. But so far, I've only ever looked at bad pay-per-view matches from WCW in 2000. Those are obviously worse, mostly in the sense that putting bad matches on free TV is far less egregious than putting on bad matches on a show that you're charging people money for. That being said, if you thought WCW had their shit together on the weekly shows then you are sorely mistaken. I've thrown quite a few jabs at Vince Russo on this blog for his horrible booking decisions and bizarre gimmick matches, but this takes the cake. What Vince Russo said on the most recent edition of The Gerweck Report podcast is without a doubt the stupidest thing I have ever heard him say. He has said things like Kevin Owens would never draw money in WWE, but this is far worse. You ready for this? Seriously, this is incredible ignorance right here. Alright...here it goes...
