This is actually the first time I'll be covering a match from SmackDown in this series, and there's a good reason for that; SmackDown, for the majority of its existence, was a pre-taped show. This meant that, should a notably bad match take place on the blue show, it could be edited and altered to make it more palatable. That being said, there were definitely still bad matches that made it to air on SmackDown, and this is one of them. Santino Marella & Heath Slater faced off on the September 27, 2013 edition of SmackDown, a show that had pretty much nothing of substance on it...kind of like every SmackDown that happened between the two brand splits. A little over two months ago at WrestleMania 37, we saw four different women's matches take place. All four matches had been built up on TV, and all four of them had some kind of stakes attached to them, whether that be a championship or a title shot. This might seem like an odd thing to praise. After all, a match with a story, stakes, and build is the bare minimum for wrestling in general, let alone matches at WrestleMania. However, when it comes to the women's division in WWE, that hasn't always been the case. And not even just in the Attitude Era, I'm talking about the early 2000s up until about 2016. I've ragged on the booking of women's wrestling during the Attitude Era (both in the WWF and WCW) more than a few times here, but I've rarely talked about the period after that and how, as a whole, it'...

Santino Marella's a wrestler I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, I'd be lying if I said he didn't have some funny moments. His 1.9-second elimination and the follow-up reaction in the 2009 Royal Rumble still makes me laugh, the Honk-a-Meter he had was a very fun gimmick, and I'll stand by it that Tea Time with Santino is genuinely great comedy. On the other hand, when Santino's bad...he's really bad. And arguably the worst, least funny bit Santino had during his seven-year run was Santina. Debuting in the Miss WrestleMania battle royal at WrestleMania 25 (which could probably get an entry by itself), Santina Marella, the fake sister of Santino who was really just Santino in drag, won the whole damn thing.
