Worst in the World: Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler-WrestleMania XXVII

Special thanks to Otter Empire for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below. Heel Michael Cole. Just writing that probably elicits all kinds of negative emotions from you. During the first season of the original NXT, WWE decided to turn Michael Cole from the straight & narrow regular babyface commentator to a cocky, arrogant, annoying heel, constantly running down fan-favorite Daniel Bryan and cheerleading for The Miz. That heel persona would translate over to RAW where he became the spokesman for the Annonymous General Manager who would communicate through a laptop, another terrible idea from WWE. It was a truly awful time to be alive. Now, a heel commentator in itself is not bad. Many commentators have done this successfully in the past, including Cole's longtime partner Jerry Lawler. The difference between Lawler doing it and Cole doing was that Lawler was the color commentator. Lawler could heel ...

Worst in the World: Too Much vs Al Snow & Head-King of the Ring 1998

(Note: I couldn't find two of the matches on the list anywhere, so unless I find them, they're off the list. The two matches were the Reverse Battle Royal from TNA in 2006, and Lou Albano vs Freddie Blassie in 1985) Wrestling has seen a lot of different non-wrestlers step in the ring. From on screen personalities like Paul Heyman and Jim Ross, to pro athletes like Floyd Mayweather and Lawrence Taylor, to even actors like Seth Green and Stephen Amell. However, there is arguably no stranger competitor than...Head. If you remember, Head is a mannequin head that Al Snow carries around, talks to, and exists for a punch line (What does everybody want? What does everybody need?). It is an inanimate object. Outside of maybe that one time Shawn Michaels teamed up with God to face the McMahons, this is by far the strangest competitor in WWE history. In what is only one of two matches Head is in, he teamed with Snow to face Too Much, later known as Too Cool, with special guest refe...

Worst in the World: The Royal Family vs Clowns R' Us-Survivor Series 1994

Photo credit: thedailyspotlight.com I hate clowns. Almost as much as I hate pointless, filler, traditional Survivor Series matches. So basically, this is my nightmare match. This is an 8-man elimination tag match, where six of the eight participants are dwarfs, and only the dwarfs can fight the dwarfs, and the normal sized people fight each other. Because all wrestling is better with little people! The match pits Doink the Clown, and his Mini Doinks Dink, Pink, and Wink, known as Clowns R' Us, facing Jerry Lawler and his "Mini Lawlers" Cheesy, Queasy, and Sleazy, known as The Royal Family. Before I start, I just want to talk about wrestlers who are simply extensions of better wrestlers. Unless their name is Kane, they never work out...ever. Seriously, think of all the characters that have been introduced just to further a pre-existing character that have failed that isn't Kane. Zeus, Giant Gonzales, Isacc Yankem, Dave Sullivan, The Knights the list goes on a...
