RAW vs Nitro #20 (1/29/96)

Welcome back to another edition of RAW vs Nitro. Click here to read the last edition if you missed it. I decided to take a while off for Christmas, but now it's time to get back to work. Let's get into it, this is RAW vs Nitro #20! RAW British Bulldog with Jim Cornette vs Diesel- Diesel backs Bulldog into the corner to start and knees him before whipping him across the ring and clotheslining him. Diesel catches Bulldog off a crossbody attempt and bodyslams him before clotheslining him out of the ring. Bulldog yanks Diesel legs out from under him and rams them into the ring post before stomping away at his legs. Bulldog continues to work over Diesel's legs until Yokozuna walks down to ringside. After a commercial break, Bulldog locks in a single leg Boston crab. Yokozuna gets a shot on Diesel after Bulldog distracts the referee and Bulldog continues the beat down before kicking Diesel out of the ring. Yokozuna rolls Diesel back in the ring as Bulldog takes off the t

My Thoughts on SmackDown (12/27/16): Uniquely Attractive

We kick off the show with the return of JOHN CENA! DO DO DO DOOOOO! DO DO DO DOOOOOOOO!...anyways. He talks about Chicago and stuff before running down the card for the show tonight. He then says that he's not done with the WWE and that it's not the New Era, it's the "My Time is Now Era." He then officially challenges the winner of the WWE Championship match tonight to a match at the Royal Rumble because he's John Cena...that's not me being snarky, that's actually what he said. Backstage, an interviewer walks up to Miz's huge dressing room guarded by security. Miz refuses to answer any questions that aren't from Renee Young Randy Orton & Luke Harper (c) vs American Alpha vs Heath Slater & Rhyno vs The Usos in a Four Corners Elimination Match-SmackDown Tag Team Championships- Chad Gable & Rhyno start, with Rhyno overpowering Gable. Gable manages to hit a very impressive Northern Lights suplex before Jey Uso makes the blind tag

My Thoughts on RAW (12/26/16): A Sexy Pinata

We kick off the show with Stephanie McMahon. Stephanie says that she has given Mick Foley before the CM Punk chants break out. This leads to the greatest line I think she's ever dropped. "If you could keep that up for about 2 minutes and fifteen seconds, you'd last one-second longer than Punk did." Damn...Seth Rollins comes out and says that Stephanie has taken away Triple H's manhood because she doesn't want him to fight Rollins. Stephanie says that Triple H is more of a champion than Rollins ever will be. Rollins changes topics and asks Stephanie for a match against Braun Strowman. Roman Reigns then comes out and says he wants a match with Strowman to. Rollins & Reigns argue over who should get to wrestle Strowman before agreeing to go find Strowman and beat him up. Stephanie gets a little to hyped up for a Shield reunion and drops the hint that Dean Ambrose could be showing up tonight...then immediately shuts it down. This is probably the best Ste

My Thoughts on SmackDown (12/20/16): Charismatic Cat

AJ Styles (c) vs James Ellsworth-WWE Championship -This is actually happening. True story: My brother, who doesn't watch wrestling much, walked in saw this part of the review and just said "Who is that?" This led to me realizing how difficult it is to explain why exactly James Ellsworth is in WWE. Styles shoves Ellsworth away before yelling that he deserves better than this. He then blocks No Chin Music before striking Ellsworth to death for the win. Afterward, Styles takes Ellsworth and slams him into the announce table and beats him down around ringside. He throws Ellsworth into the exposed ring frame before slingshotting him into it and walking off, only to come back for to suplex Ellsworth into the barricade. Styles takes the mix and apologizes for making the crowd watch him beat up Ellsworth...NOT! Styles says he's got everything right now and is ready for 2017. Dolph Ziggler then comes out, says he's next in line for a title shot and rags on Styles for

RAW vs Nitro #19 (1/22/96)

Welcome back to another edition of RAW vs Nitro. Click here to read the last edition if you missed it. Now let's get into it, this is RAW vs Nitro #19! But first, a recap of what happened at the Royal Rumble, which happened the day before this episode of RAW. Ahmed Johnson defeated Jeff Jarrett by disqualification after Jarrett smashed his guitar over his head. The Smoking Gunns retained the WWF Tag Team Championships against the Bodydonnas. Goldust defeated Razor Ramon to win the Intercontinental Championship after the debuting Marlena distracted the referee, allowing the 1-2-3 Kid to run in and deliver a top rope spinning heel kick to Razor. Goldust capitalized and pinned Razor for the win and the championship. Shawn Michaels won the Royal Rumble match, eliminating Diesel last with Sweet Chin Music. The Undertaker defeated Bret Hart in the main event for the WWF Championship by disqualification. Undertaker hit the Tombstone Piledriver on Hart, but Diesel ran down an

My Thoughts on NXT (12/14/16): The Champ Down Under

Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match-NXT Championship- We kick off the show with Shinsuke Nakamura vs Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match in Melbourne, Austrailia. Or as the ring announcer called it, a "Stage Ceel" match. That's botch #1 from the opener. The second one wasn't as noticeable on the show, but many people were quick to point out online that the lowering of the cage did not go too smoothly. In case you didn't know...that's not supposed to happen. The two feel eachother out to start before Nakamura takes down Joe with a single leg. Joe fights to his feet and the two lock up in the ropes. The two dodge eachother before Nakamura takes control with a knee strike & a knee drop. Nakamura gives Joe Good Vibrations in the corner before Joe rams Nakamura into the cage wall. Joe slams in Nakamura, pinning Nakamura against the cage. We then get a shit editing moment as the match cuts to commercial abruptly. We come back to Nakamura

RAW vs Nitro #18 (1/15/96)

Welcome back to another edition of RAW vs Nitro. Click here to read the last edition if you missed it. Now let's get into it, this is RAW vs Nitro #18! RAW So before RAW starts, we get this warning. This should be a fun episode. Marty Jannetty vs Owen Hart with Jim Cornette- The two lock up before Jannetty hits an arm drag followed by a monkey flip. Jannetty hits a drop-toe hold before hitting another hip toss. Hart avoids a body slam, only to be clotheslined down for a near fall by Jannetty. Jannetty hits a shoulder tackle before Hart hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Hart hits a back breaker and stomps away at Jannetty's back before Jannetty hits a corner crossbody for a near fall. Hart hits a step-up enziguri before Jannetty hits an arm drag but misses an elbow drop. Hart goes for the Sharpshooter, but Jannetty blocks it. Hart keeps control before Jannetty clotheslines Hart. Hart comes back with a gut wrench suplex for a near fall before the commercial break. We come

My Thoughts on SmackDown (12/13/16): Chinfluenza

Before the show, Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon review last week's Intercontinental Championship match with James Ellsworth, who is sick, in the room. The two rail on Ellsworth for interfering before telling Ellsworth to go home tonight because he's sick, canceling the WWE Championship match he was supposed to have tonight. We kick off the show with MizTV. Miz brings out his guest tonight AJ Styles, who says Ellsworth came down with... Chin fluenza. He says he'll destroy Ellsworth when the time comes, and he & Miz joke around about Ellsworth & Styles getting a shampoo endorsement. Styles says nobody is on his level, but Miz says he's above Styles' level and implies that he wants the WWE Championship. The two push the chairs aside before Dean Ambrose comes out, followed by Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says Styles & Miz are paper champions who only win by cheating. Miz & Ziggler fight, ending with Miz hitting a Skull Crushing Finale on Ziggler, follow
