My Thoughts on NXT (9/28/16): Glorious Perfection

So yeah...it's been a while since I've reviewed NXT. No excuse, I just didn't get around to watching it the last few weeks. But now, I'm going to get back into the swing of things. Let's get into this review. Before the show, William Regal talks about the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and announces that NXT will be holding it again this year, with the finals taking place at NXT Takeover: Toronto. Regal adds that the brackets for the tournament will be revealed on social media over the next few days and the first matches will be held next week. Tye Dillinger vs Angelo Dawkins- What is Angelo Dawkins? Seriously, what is this guy's gimmick? I have no idea what this guy is supposed to be. He comes out, does that stirring hand motion thing, and wears two headbands. What is this guy? Whatever. So Dawkins does that stirring thing for like a solid twenty seconds straight before Dillinger hits a snapmare, does a cartwheel, and throws up the 10 right in Dawkins&

Worst in the World: Rick Rude vs Jake Roberts-WrestleMania IV

WrestleMania IV; One of the biggest clusterf*cks in WWE history. After the infamous "Two Hebner's" incident went down on The Main Event, where Andre the Giant pinned Hulk Hogan to win the WWF Championship with the help of an imposter referee Earl Hebner, trading places with his brother Dave. Andre then sold the title to Ted Dibiase, only for president Jack Tunney to declare the sale invalid and make the title vacant. The new champion would be crowned in a 14-man tournament held entirely at WrestleMania IV featuring some of the biggest names in the WWF. Hogan. Savage. Andre. Dibiase...Dino Bravo...Unfortunately, this made the card go especially long, as the fans had to sit through 16 matches in about 3 and a half hours. And because of that, the majority of the matches went very quick, with the main event and tournament final not even making it past nine and a half minutes. One of those matches in the tournament was a first round match-up between Jake Roberts and Rick Ru

My Thoughts on SmackDown (9/27/16): Randy Orton Can't Follow the Buzzards

We kick off the show with Randy Orton. He says he knows why Bray Wyatt talks about fear and blindsides people; because he is afraid. He says Wyatt is afraid of him and tells him to come down to the ring if he's man enough. Wyatt screen effect hits, and Wyatt's on the big screen. He recites the story of Hansel & Gretel and says that this is his world. He shows an hourglass with the sand falling down while singing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" before the screen cuts off. Orton leaves and walks to the back. Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Dean Ambrose. He says John Cena is old news and that AJ Styles cheated to win the WWE World Championship. He says that he'll win his title back. Heath Slater, Rhyno, and American Alpha vs The Usos & The Ascension- Finally, the Usos have new entrance music. Also, their dressing like Hunico & Camacho now. Jordan & Jimmy Uso start off before Gable tags in. American Alpha work over Jimmy with mult

My Thoughts on RAW (9/26/16): Man of 1004 Stupid Idiots

Roman Reigns (c) vs Rusev for the United States Championship- Rusev got a jobber entrance. That is not OK. The match starts with Rusev mat wrestling Reigns to the ground. Rusev locks in a front facelock before Reigns switches it and locks in a hammerlock. Rusev powers out, but Reigns knocks him back down with two shoulder tackles and locks in a headlock. Rusev counters and goes back to mat wrestling, taking Reigns down with a double leg takedown. Rusev hits a suplex for a one count before hammering away at Reigns with elbows. Reigns fights back with punches before hitting the ten clotheslines in the corner. Reigns goes for the school boy powerbomb, but Reigns back gives out, allowing Rusev to boot Reigns from the ring before the commercial break. We come back to Rusev working over Reigns with a waist lock. Reigns tries to fight out, but Rusev knocks him down with a dropkick. Rusev overhead gutwrench-suplexes Reigns twice, getting two near falls. Rusev continues to beat down and wo

Clash of Champions 2016 Predictions

Pre-Show Match #1: Alicia Fox vs Nia Jax Winner: Nia Jax Is there really any doubt? Does anyone really think Alicia Fox is going to be the first woman to beat Nia Jax on RAW? Nia wins, easy. Main Card Match #1: TJ Perkins (c) vs Brian Kendrick-Cruiserweight Championship Winner: TJ Perkins The cruiserweights are finally back! After an amazing Cruiserweight Classic, the division is back up and running and the title is back, with TJ Perkins becoming the champion after winning the Cruiserweight Classic. He makes his first title defense against Brian Kendrick at Clash of Champions. I'm going with Perkins for the win since I can't see him dropping the title after just winning it last week. Match #2: Cesaro vs Sheamus-Match #7 in the Best of 7 Series Winner: Cesaro So, we're FINALLY going to see the last Cesaro-Sheamus match for a while...hopefully. Yeah, pretty much all interest I had in seeing these two wrestle is completely gone after having seen them wre

Worst in the World: THAT Jackie Gayda Match-WWE Monday Night RAW (7/8/2002)

Tough Enough...ugh. Back in 2001, WWE hosted a reality show where aspiring wrestlers (some more than others) auditioned and underwent wrestling training, with the winners receiving developmental contracts in WWE to receive further training and possibly going on to become the next big WWE superstar. None of them did. None of the wrestlers who won their season of Tough Enough became the next major star WWE was looking for, with the winner of Season 5 never even wrestling on the main roster. It's not a good sign when the most successful person from your show is the Miz, who was the runner-up on Season 4. While most of the Tough Enough competitors just kind of existed in WWE, one in particular has become rather infamous in WWE...Jackie Gayda. Gayda was the co-winner on Season 2 with Linda Miles. After winning, she wrestled in a few matches on the main roster. One of them was a mixed tag match where she teamed with Season 1 runner-up Christopher Nowinski to face the team of Trish S

Worst in the World: Pat Patterson vs Gerald Brisco-King of the Ring 2000

If you've never seen or heard anything about this match, then the above image might be very confusing to you. So let me just clear some things up real quick. No, this is not some kind of weird fever dream. You are not hallucinating, this is something that really happened in real life. This is the first ever (and only) "Hardcore Evening Gown match", contested by two men in their fifties for the Hardcore Championship. How could the WWE have possible thought of this? Well, let's go into a brief history lesson. Back in the late 90s, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco were part of the Corporation as Vince McMahon's "stooges". They were a duo of bumbling heels who would provide some very funny moments over the years. This was not one of them. You see, it all started when Brisco won the Hardcore Championship from Crash Holly with the help of Patterson in 2000. While celebrating in the back, however, Patterson poured champagne in Brisco's eyes and broke a

My Thoughts on SmackDown (9/20/16): A Clown in Sheep's Clothes

We kick off the show with a contract signing for the Women's Championship match at No Mercy. Daniel Bryan says the signing will stay civilized, which means that this contract signing will definitely not stay civilized. He brings out Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss before MY GOD DAMN CABLE STRIKES AGAIN AND GOES OUT! JESUS CHRIST! DIDN'T GO OUT ONCE ALL DAY, BUT AS SOON AS THE SHOW I WRITE A REVIEW OF COMES ON, BOOM, LIGHTS OUT! FOR F*CKS SAKE! When it came back on, Alexa Bliss smacked Becky Lynch before signing the contract and flipping the table onto Becky. Alexa leaves, but Becky chases her and Alexa runs off. I bet that was a cool segment. WISH I COULD'VE SEEN IT! Backstage, Daniel Bryan is confrontedby the Miz & Maryse. Miz has a problem with his title defense tonight against Dolph Ziggler, so Bryan says he'll cancel the Miz's new contract if he doesn't defend the title, which was in the fine print of Miz's new contract. The Usos vs American Alpha

My Thoughts on RAW (9/19/16): Technical Difficulties

(Hey everyone, sorry I've been gone for a week. I just started back up at college and I wanted to get readjusted to my new schedule. Back to regular posting I go.) So thanks to the top notch service from my cable provider, my cable was out for the first 7 minutes, so I came in to see Mick Foley book Seth Rollins vs Rusev tonight and Roman Reigns vs Rusev at Clash of Champions for the United States Championship. Stephanie McMahon says she'll make sure that match happens, but Reigns doesn't trust her. Foley then goes on a rant about how if RAW loses the war to SmackDown then he's out of a job. He then announces that Roman Reigns will face Kevin Owens again tonight. This brings out Owens, who complains that he already beat Reigns twice last week. Stephanie says the match will happen and it will be non-title and Foley adds it will be a steel cage match. Backstage, Stephanie and Foley argue about the main event before Rusev comes up and complains about Reigns getting
