Worst in the World: The Barbed Wire Christmas Tree Match-TNA iMPACT (12/20/2007)

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all had a fun & safe holiday season. And because it's the merriest day of the year, I thought it was only fitting to take a look at a Christmas-themed match for this edition of the Worst in the World. So I decided to take a trip back to TNA's 2007 Christmas episode. The whole episode is a ton of silly, Yuletide fun with every match on the show being Christmas-themed, all while Eric Young throws an episode-long Christmas party. There's one match on the show, however, that stands out for just how ridiculous it ends up being. Officially, it's called the "Silent Night, Bloody Night" match, but this match is probably better known as the "Barbed Wire Christmas Tree" match (so much so that IMPACT themselves uploaded the whole match on YouTube as the Barbed Wire Christmas Tree match ) for its inclusion of a Christmas Tree made out of barbed wire as a weapon...that was also hanging in the middle of the ring for some ...

But so far, I've only ever looked at bad pay-per-view matches from WCW in 2000. Those are obviously worse, mostly in the sense that putting bad matches on free TV is far less egregious than putting on bad matches on a show that you're charging people money for. That being said, if you thought WCW had their shit together on the weekly shows then you are sorely mistaken. WCW Monday Nitro had plenty of stinkers grace TNT in 2000, and today, I'm taking a look at one of them with this ...
