Worst in the World: Jeff Jarrett: The Face of World Wrestling All-Stars

2001 was a rough time to be one Jeff Jarrett. After spending around a year and a half in WCW, the company was sold to the WWF. Considering Jarrett's last run with that company ended in a messy split that included Jarrett getting a reported six-figure payout to work beyond his contract's expiration, the idea of Double J returning to the WWF seemed unlikely. Well, not only was Jarrett not brought in to the WWF, but on the episode of Monday Night Raw that aired simultaneously as the final Monday Nitro, Vince McMahon explicitly stated that Jarrett would be GOONNEE. With any real competition for the WWF wiped out and TNA still just an idea Bob Ryder pitched on a fishing trip, Jarrett needed a new promotion he could call home. That promotion would end up being World Wrestling All-Stars.
World Wrestling All-Stars was a short-lived Australian promotion founded by concert promoter Andrew McManus that popped up soon after WCW closed down, looking to fill the void it left with a roster of mainly ex-WWF, WCW, and ECW guys. Ultimately, through a variety of hurdles, the WWA couldn't contend with the WWF, and closed down in 2003 after just two years. One of those hurdles was that, financially, the WWF could easily lure any prominent talents they wanted, such as Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Eddie Guerrero, and Scott Steiner, away from the WWA. With Jarrett, however, that bridge was so sufficiently burned that there was no way he would return to the WWF. If there was anyone suited to be the center of attention in the WWA who wouldn't leave, it was Jeff Jarrett.
Across the five pay-per-views WWA ran, Jarrett has six matches; three on the inaugural show, The Inception, and one each on three of the following four shows. His final match, a double title match to unify the NWA and WWA World Heavyweight titles at the final WWA show, The Reckoning, against Sting is generally considered alright. The rest are not. A big part of that, and another reason the WWA flopped overall, is the booking. The WWA had originally brought in Vince Russo as head booker, but when those plans fell through, former WCW and future TNA & WWE producer Jeremy Borash was hired on Russo's recommendation. The booking in the WWA suggests that Russo's recommendation came from similar tastes between the two; car crash booking & interference, and Jeff Jarrett in the main event. Jarrett's matches in WCW, and later TNA, with Russo as the booker tended to be overbooked messes, and it was more of the same in the WWA with Borash. Today, I'll be taking a look at five of Jarrett's six WWA pay-per-view matches.

Match #1: The Inception-Round 1

As I mentioned, Jarrett pulls triple duty on the WWA's first pay-per-view, The Inception. The entire show was built around the "Seven Deadly Sins" tournament for the vacant WWA World Heavyweight Championship. As I mentioned the last time I covered the WWA, the title was vacated by (kayfabe) WWA Commissioner Bret Hart and stripped from Road Dogg, who had won the title either three or seven days prior (there are conflicting dates) during the company's "The Inception Tour" of live events. They crowned a champion on the tour before their first pay-per-view...just to vacate the title so they could crown a new champion on the pay-per-view. Do you see what I mean about the booking being nonsense?
The tournament was a seven-match series, each with a different stipulation. Among these was a battle royal where people would just enter randomly featuring the likes of Jeremy Borash, referee Slick Johnson, a second referee, a security guard, the timekeeper, and legally different enough/nightmare versions of the Bananas in Pyjamas, the Australian children's TV show characters.
I don't know if I've made it clear enough that this is the dumbest company ever. For Jarrett, his first-round match-up saw him take on Nathan Jones in a Guitar on a Pole match, because of course the guy Russo recommended would also book a Pole match. Jones was an Australian strongman competitor, having won gold at the 1996 World Strongman Challenge and competed at two World's Strongest Man events, before switching to wrestling in 2001. After training at California's Ulitmate Pro Wrestling (the same school John Cena and Samoa Joe would train at), Jones would return to Australia and sign with the WWA. Most famously, he'd go on to sign with WWE in 2002 and was supposed to team with The Undertaker at WrestleMania XIX against Big Show & A-Train, only to get pulled from the match because they realized he was really, really bad. Not joking, that's genuinely the only answer I can find, he was just bad. He'd be gone by the end of 2003 and wrestled his last match in 2005.
He was too green in 2003. This was two years earlier. I can only assume this is brutal, but let's take a look for ourselves.
Jones comes down to the ring with Rove McManus, an Australian talk show host who, as far as I can tell, is not related to the owner Andrew McManus. Rove ends up sitting in on commentary for the match before the bell rings. After backing out of a test of strength spot, Jarrett lays into Jones with punches. Jones responds by tossing Jarrett into the corner and going for a clothesline, but Jarrett ducks it. Jarrett continues punching away at Jones before whipping him to the opposite corner. Jarrett charges in, so Jones raises a boot. Jarrett catches it, however, and continues punching away at Jones. A second whip to the opposite corner is reversed, however, and Jones sends Jarrett across the ring. Jones charges in, but Jarrett catches him with boots to the face.
Jarrett charges at Jones, only for Jones to catch him with a clunky tilt-a-whirl slam. Jones follows up with a whip into the ropes and a big boot, which Jarrett responds to with a jawbreaker. Jarrett chokes Jones against the ropes, leaving him in position for a leg guillotine. Jarrett goes to the second rope for a diving double axe handle, but Jones catches him by the throat. Jarrett frees himself by kicking Jones, but Jones keeps control with a big spinning sidewalk slam. Jones then clotheslines Jarrett over the top rope, sending both men out of the ring.
Jones beats Jarrett around ringside, punching him in between slamming him into the ring apron and the announce table. Jones gorilla presses Jarrett back into the ring before climbing to the top rope. Jones dives off for a flying clothesline before going to the corner with the guitar on a pole. Jones climbs to the top rope, only for Jarrett to run over and low blow him. Jones actually takes the opportunity to double his dick pain, falling after the low blow and crouching himself on the top rope before falling down to the mat. Jarrett climbs to the top rope and grabs the guitar.
Jarrett prepares to hit Jones, only for Rove McManus to leave commentary and climb in the ring. Rove tries to stop Jarrett, only for Jarrett to smash the guitar over his head. Jarrett quickly follows up with the Stroke on Jones for the three and the win to advance.

The Verdict

It's not as bad as I expected it to be, but it's still pretty unremarkable. A couple of spots, but is just too brief to be fun.

Match #2: The Inception-Round 2

With Jarrett vs Jones closing out the first round, Jarrett moved on to the second round to face Buff Bagwell. Bagwell had initially been brought over to the WWF after WCW closed down, but a combination of an infamous Monday Night Raw match and his backstage actions led to that going up in smoke in record time. Bagwell won the aforementioned clusterfuck of a battle royal to advance to the second round. For this match, Jarrett and Bagwell would face off in a match that's gimmick isn't outright stated. The only way it's described is simply "Tits, Whips, and Buff" by Bagwell. I hate this company so much. It's a Lumberjack match, with the lumberjacks being women armed with whips. Let's take a look.
Bagwell comes down to the ring with the aforementioned women. The two lock-up to start, with Jarrett taking control with a headlock. Jarrett switches to a wrist lock, then right back to a headlock. Bagwell powers out and sends Jarrett to the ropes, but Jarrett keeps control with a shoulder block. Following a drop down and a leapfrog, Bagwell takes control with a hip toss. Jarrett slips out through the ropes, but quickly gets back in the ring before any of the women can whip him.
The two lock-up again, with Bagwell slapping on a headlock this time. Jarrett powers out and sends Bagwell to the ropes, but Bagwell bounces back with a shoulder block. Jarrett tries to respond with a hip toss, but Bagwell blocks it and clotheslines Jarrett to the mat. Bagwell follows up with a dropkick, sending Jarrett rolling out of the ring. The women surround Jarrett, whipping him until he rolls back in the ring.
Bagwell punches away at Jarrett before tossing him back out of the ring, where the women whip him again. Jarrett slides back in the ring, and takes control with knees to the gut. Jarrett tosses Bagwell out of the ring, but the women just comfort him instead of whipping him. They help him to his feet, and even massage him.
Bagwell climbs back through the ropes, only for Jarrett to yank the middle rope into him. Bagwell responds by clotheslining Jarrett out of the ring, where Jarrett gets swarmed & whipped again.
Bagwell breaks up the whipping, leaving the ring and grabbing a whip from one of the women. Bagwell whips Jarrett until referee Slick Johnson takes the whip from him. The women proceed to whip Johnson, chasing him up the ramp. Meanwhile, Bagwell tosses Jarrett into the ring before climbing to the second rope. Bagwell hits the Buff Blockbuster and makes the cover, prompting one of the women to hop in the ring and count the pin.
Bagwell and the woman celebrate, but Slick Johnson returns to immediately wave it off. Jarrett takes the opportunity to recover and hit the Stroke. Johnson slides back in the ring to count the three, giving Jarrett the win.

The Verdict

This is exactly what I'm talking about in regards to overbooking. The basic wrestling takes a complete backseat to the gimmick & and the outside activities of the match. The ending is also overbooked and really dumb, and really knocks the match down a bit in my eyes. In short, this is not a good time.

Match #3: The Inception-Tournament Final

And so, we've finally reached the end of The Inception, as Jarrett takes on the Road Dogg in the main event Steel Cage match for the WWA World Heavyweight title. Road Dogg had been released from the WWF in January 2001, and had been causing issues on the indys before joining the WWA in October. As I mentioned, he beat Jarrett during "The Inception Tour" to become the inaugural champion, only to be stripped of the title for literally no reason and put in this tournament. Did I mention this company is fucking dumb?
Road Dogg beat Konnan in a Dog Collar match in the first round, and was supposed to wrestle Juventud Guerrera in the semifinals, but Juvi was replaced after he was injured in his opening round Ladder match against Psicosis. Instead, Road Dogg faced Lenny and Lodi, both members of the pretty blatant gay panic-inducing West Hollywood Blondes, and defeated them in a Triple Threat match. It's the Jeff Jarrett-Roadie match we never got in the WWF, so let's take a look.
Before the match, WWA Commissioner Bret Hart comes down to ringside with the title belt in hand. He takes a seat at the commentary table. Road Dogg comes out first with a mic, and despite his title graphic spelling his name "Road Dog", he still announces himself as the "D-O-Double G." The WWA might've been trying to toe the line of copyright, but Road Dogg's got no time for that, as he flat out calls himself his full gimmick name in the WWF, "The Road Dogg Jesse James", during his usual introduction promo.
As Jarrett steps through the ropes, Road Dogg pounces on him, beating him around the ring and into the corner. Road Dogg whips Jarrett to the opposite corner and charges in, but Jarrett catches him with a boot. Jarrett stomps away at Road Dogg before beating him down in the corner. Jarrett slaps on a headlock, but Road Dogg quickly powers out and punches him to the mat. Road Dogg whips Jarrett to the corner, prompting Jarrett to try to leap over him. Road Dogg fakes him out, however, and stays put, allowing him to knock Jarrett to the mat again when he lands & turns around.
Road Dogg whips Jarrett into the ropes and goes for a punch, but Jarrett ducks under him. Road Dogg keeps control, however, with the Shake, Rattle, and Roll punches followed by the knee drop. Road Dogg makes the cover, but Jarrett kicks out at two. Road Dogg goes for an Irish whip, but Jarrett reverses it and goes for a clothesline. Road Dogg ducks it and hits the ropes, only for Jarrett to whip him into the cage wall when he bounces back.
Jarrett stays on the offensive, throwing Road Dogg into the cage wall two more times before hitting the Fargo Strut. Jarrett goes for an Irish whip, but Road Dogg reverses it, sending Jarrett into the cage wall. Jarrett bounces off right into a punch from Road Dogg, knocking him down. RoadDogg follows up by tossing Jarrett into the cage wall twice, prompting Jarrett to start climbing the cage. Road Dogg climbs as well, with both men straddling the top of the cage walls. The two trade punches, but Jarrett is the first to hit the floor.

The Verdict...

It's here where Bret Hart, for the first time, mentions on commentary that the match must end by pinfall or submission. Jarrett walks over to the timekeeper as Road Dogg hits the floor. Jarrett grabs the ring bell and tries to hit Road Dogg, but Road Dogg boots him in the stomach before he can. Road Dogg slams Jarrett into the ring steps before hitting him with the bell, busting Jarrett open. Road Dogg throws Jarrett into the guardrail before tossing him back in the ring.
Road Dogg punches Jarrett and goes for an Irish whip, but Jarrett reverses it. Jarrett locks in a Sleeper Hold, and Road Dogg fades. Referee Slick Johnson raises his hand three times...and it drops three times...and then he raises it one more time, drops it, and Road Dogg keeps his hand up. I don't know why they did that. Road Dogg then flips off Johnson, just because, and fights to his feet. Road Dogg fights out of the hold before shoving Jarrett to the ropes. Road Dogg locks in a Sleeper Hold of his own, but Jarrett is able to escape quickly with a back suplex. With both men down, Jarrett crawls into the cover, but Road Dogg kicks out.
Road Dogg fights back, hitting two punches and a big boot. Road Dogg tries to follow up with an Irish whip, but Jarrett reverses it. Road Dogg bounces back and goes for a flying forearm, but Jarrett ducks and Slick Johnson takes the forearm. Jarrett exits the cage and grabs his guitar. Jarrett smashes the guitar over Road Dogg's head. This is played off as Jarrett cheating with the ref down, even though a weapon was already used while the referee was up.
In a convoluted sequence of events, Jarrett points at Bret Hart before locking in the Sharpshooter. Hart stops the timekeeper from ringing, even though the referee is down anyway. Also, why are we referencing Starrcade 1997? Why would you want to associate your ending with that dumpster fire of an ending? Another referee runs down to the ring as Road Dogg goes for the Pumphandle Slam, but Jarrett escapes. In the process, Jarrett crashes into the ref, knocking him down as well. The cameraman misses Road Dogg giving Jarrett a low blow before pointing at Hart and locking in a Sharpshooter of his own. I genuinely have no idea who's supposed to be the face and heel in this match.
Again, Hart stops the timekeeper from ringing the bell, saying he wants the title to be won "the right way." Hart grabs the title and starts to leave. Road Dogg leaves the cage and grabs the title from Hart. Road Dogg gets back in the cage and tries to hit Jarrett, but Jarrett ducks it. Jarrett kicks Road Dogg in the gut, causing Road Dogg to drop the belt. Jarrett proceeds to hit the Stroke onto the title. One of the referees recovers and counts the pin, giving Jarrett the title.
Hart climbs in the ring and gets in Jarrett's face. The two argue before Hart turns around. Jarrett prepares to hit Hart with the belt, but Hart turns around before he does. Jarrett begs for forgiveness, but Hart puts him in the Sharpshooter to close out the show. What the fuck are we doing?

The Verdict

The actual wrestling is fine, it's a decent brawl. But man, everything else is just terrible. Confusing rules and an absurdly overbooked ending. This is brutal to watch and is going low on the list.

Match #4: The Revolution

We're finally out of The Inception-territory, as we move on to the WWA's second pay-per-view; The Revolution in February 2002. Jarrett's still the WWA World Heavyweight Champion, having fended off Road Dogg and Scott Steiner throughout an untelevised United Kingdom tour. He'd make his first televised defense at The Revolution in the main event, and for this match, the WWA was pulling out the big guns. In a first-time singles match, Jarrett would be facing off against the Macho Man Randy Savage, who would be returning to the ring for the first time since 2000. Having a bonafide legend of the industry stepping back in the ring for the first time in almost two years was a big get for the WWA, so let's take a look...
Randy Savage does not wrestle Jeff Jarrett in the main event of The Revolution. As far as I can tell, it seems like Savage just no-showed the event. That meant the WWA would need someone to step up with the unenviable task of trying to replace the Macho Man. That man would be...
Brian Christopher. Like many of the names we've come across on this post, Christopher, better known as Grand Master Sexay, had been released by the WWF in 2001, in his case after a drug trafficking arrest. He'd joined the WWA during their UK tour. This match doesn't have enough votes for an actual rating on Cagematch.net, but its sole 0/10 rating suggests we're in for a rough one. Let's take a look.
The two lock-up to start, with Jarrett quickly taking Christopher down with an arm drag. Jarrett celebrates with a Fargo Strut before the two lock-up again. Jarrett again gains the upper hand, hip-tossing Christopher before hitting another Fargo Strut. A third lock-up, a third advantage for Jarrett, as he locks in a headlock. Christopher powers out and sends Jarrett into the ropes, but Jarrett bounces back with a shoulder block. After a drop-down and a leapfrog, Christopher lands his first bit of offense with a hip toss. Christopher follows up with a body slam before clotheslining Jarrett out of the ring. Christopher follows up by dropkicking Jarrett through the ropes before, for some reason, unzipping his pants so they fall down when he dances.
I don't know why he did that.
Jarrett gets back in the ring, but Christopher keeps control with punches. Christopher tries to whip Jarrett into the corner, but Jarrett reverses it and sends Christopher into the corner. Jarrett charges in, but Christopher gets a boot up. Christopher climbs to the second rope for a missile dropkick for a two count. Christopher follows up with a sunset flip for another two count, and a neckbreaker for a third two count. Jarrett rolls out of the ring, so Christopher follows him and throws him over the guard rail.
Christopher follows him over the rail and punches him through the crowd and up into the stands. Jarrett strikes back, however, before whipping Christopher into a wall. Jarrett follows up by picking up & dropping Christopher onto a handrail before dragging him back to ringside. They've been out of the ring well past a 10-count, so it's around here we get one of my biggest pet peeves in wrestling; the commentators saying that the referee is being "lenient" to explain why a match with disqualifications and countounts hasn't been thrown out when it should've been. It really just comes off as a lazy way to have wild brawls, but still use things like ref bumps and interference to get heat.
Jarrett tosses Christopher over the guard rail, throwing a beer in his face and choking him along the way. Christopher fights back, kicking Jarrett in the gut before slamming his head into the ring steps. Christopher throws Jarrett back in the ring and goes for a corner splash, but Jarrett dodges and Christopher crashes in the corner. Jarrett takes control, whipping Christopher hard into the opposite corner twice. Jarrett climbs to the top rope and hits a crossbody, but Christopher rolls through and nearly gets the pinfall.
Jarrett regains control with a stomp before whipping Christopher towards the ropes. Christopher ducks a back elbow, but Jarrett keeps control with a Sleeper Hold. Christopher fades, prompting the referee to raise & drop his hand. It drops twice, but Christopher keeps his hand up on the third drop. That gives us a rare good line from Mark Madden on commentary, who claims it was just a muscle spasm and that he's out. Christopher fights to his feet, freeing himself with elbows to the gut. Christopher ducks a clothesline before locking in a Sleeper Hold of his own. Jarrett quickly escapes and goes for a back suplex, but Christopher lands on his feet and superkicks Jarrett to the mat.
Christopher follows up with a whip to the ropes and goes for a kick to the gut. Jarrett catches it, but Christopher keeps control with an enziguri. Christopher crawls into the cover, but Jarrett kicks out. Christopher climbs to the top rope, but Jarrett catches him with a punch. Christopher responds with a boot before hitting a tornado DDT. Christopher makes the cover, but Jarrett gets a foot on the ropes. Jarrett crawls onto the apron, prompting Christopher to hit a disgusting-sounding sunset flip powerbomb to the outside. I don't know how to say this...but this match kind of rules, at times.
Christopher follows up by throwing Jarrett into the guard rail twice. Jarrett fires back with a punch before grabbing a chair. The referee grabs it before Jarrett can use it. Christopher goes for a superkick, but Jarrett dodges it and Christopher takes out the ref. Christopher then grabs the chair and hits Jarrett with it. The heel-face divide in WWA is confusing. Genuinely, everyone is just kind of an asshole who cheats. Even Jarrett, who's basically a textbook heel, has moments where the odds are stacked against him like in the match with Buff Bagwell. None of it makes any sense.
 Christopher throws Jarrett back in the ring and climbs to the top rope. He pulls out his goggles before diving off for the Hip Hop Drop (leg drop.) Christopher makes the cover and gets a visual three before referee Slick Johnson runs down. He starts to count, only for the original ref to yank him out of the ring. Why? If it's for the chair shot, it shouldn't be, because he didn't see it. This company sucks.
The two referees argue as Jarrett grabs his guitar. Jarrett smashes the guitar over Christopher's head and the original ref tries to count, but Johnson yanks him out of the ring. He actually has a point, pointing out the bits of guitar all over the ring.
The referees fight each other before Jarrett chucks Johnson out of the ring. Jarrett leaves the ring and grabs his title belt. Jarrett goes to hit Christopher, but Christopher ducks it and kicks him in the gut. Christopher goes for a piledriver on the belt, but Jarrett low blows him. Jarrett follows up with the Stroke onto the belt, and the original ref counts the three, giving Jarrett the win.

The Verdict

I am so annoyed. For the most part, the match is pretty fun. A bit of inconsistent rule enforcement I complained about, but it's a pretty solid match overall. But once again, the overbooked ending is a nightmare. Chaos for the sake of chaos that really drags the match down in my eyes.

Match #5: The Retribution

And so, we've reached the final match we'll be looking at. Jarrett would actually drop the WWA World Heavyweight title in a four-way to Nathan Jones during the company's "Eruption Tour." Jarrett would skip the company's third pay-per-view The Eruption, and would wrestle his next televised match for the company at the following pay-per-view, The Retribution. In between then, Jarrett, his father Jerry, and wrestling journalist Bob Ryder had founded Total Nonstop Action, a territory of the National Wrestling Alliance that, like the WWA, looked to fill the gap left by WCW and ECW post-closing. TNA was far more successful in this regard, and more than likely spelled the end of World Wrestling All-Stars. Because of the Jarrett-WWA connection, however, this would lead to a working relationship between the two companies, which ended with WWA's title being unified into the NWA & TNA's.
This also led to Jarrett defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at The Retribution, once again taking on Nathan Jones. Jones' WWA World Heavyweight title reign was not long for this world, as he only held the belt for five or six days (again, different places list different days won) before dropping the belt to Scott Steiner. He'd failed to regain the title from Steiner in a match held at a music festival before Steiner signed with WWE and vacated the title. That led to the Sting-Lex Luger match from The Retribution that I covered previously. As a consolation prize, Jones challenges Jarrett for the Ten Pounds of Gold. Once again, this match doesn't have enough votes for a Cagematch rating, but has a single 0/10 rating. It's a rubber match nobody asked for, so let's take a look.
The two lock up to start, with Jones easily shoving Jarrett back into the corner. After a pause, Jones goes for a clothesline, but Jarrett ducks it. Jarrett blocks a boot right after before punching away at Jones. Jarrett tries to whip Jones into the opposite corner, but Jones reverses it and sends Jarrett into the corner. Jones charges in, but Jarrett gets his boots up. Jones recovers, however, and hits a big tilt-a-whirl slam. Jones whips Jarrett into the ropes and goes for a clothesline, but Jarrett ducks it. Jarrett ducks a follow-up back elbow, but Jones grabs him by the throat the third time around. Jarrett frees himself with a boot to the gut before kicking away at Jones' knee. Jarrett goes for an Irish whip, but Jones reverses it and hits a big spinning sidewalk slam.
Jones follows up with a clothesline, sending both of them over the top rope and out of the ring. Jones beats Jarrett around ringside, throwing him into the ring post before grabbing a chair. The referee stops him, so Jones goes back to punching Jarrett. Jones tosses Jarrett back in the ring before climbing to the top rope. Jarrett pops up, however, and knocks his leg out, causing Jones to get crotched on the top rope. Jarrett chokes Jones against the ropes before hitting a body guillotine. Jarrett goes to the second rope, diving off for an axe handle. He goes to the second rope again and jumps onto Jones' back to lock in the Sleeper Hold.
Jones begins to fade, falling to one knee, but fights back to his feet before ramming Jarrett into the corner to break the hold. Jarrett quickly leaves the ring and grabs a chair, wedging it into the corner. Jarrett tries to whip Jones into the chair, but Jones won't budge. Jones ends up leveling Jarrett with a clothesline. Jones follows up with a Samoan Drop and makes the cover, but Jarrett kicks out. Jones follows up with a huge gutwrench slam and makes the cover, but Jarrett is able to get the ropes. Man, if Nathan Jones was even a little good at actual wrestling, he'd definitely be remembered a lot more fondly, because his big moves/spots are a ton of fun to watch.
Jones follows up with a big boot and calls for the Chokeslam. In a weird bit, Jarrett pulls the referee towards Jones, who grabs him for the Chokeslam...for some reason.
As Jones tosses the referee to the mat, Jarrett leaves the ring and grabs his guitar. With the ref down, Jarrett smashes the guitar over Jones' head. He actually takes the time to clean the guitar bits out of the ring before making the cover. The referee recovers and counts the three, giving Jarrett the win.

The Verdict

Again, the match is relatively fun, but the ending is still pretty screwy. Admittedly, it's not as bad as most of the previous matches in regards to overbooking, but it's still there. Like the previous Jarrett-Jones match, this one is going pretty high. Lower than the first, but not too low.

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it.
