Worst in the World: The Great American Trash: The Sequel!

Last year on the 4th of July, I took a look at the 2004 edition of the Great American Bash , one of the worst pay-per-views WWE has ever held. Well, one year later, WWE would once again hold the Great American Bash, and it was still bad. Granted, it's a slight improvement over the previous year's event, and the card definitely feels more pay-per-view worthy than 2004's (there's not a Luther Reigns or a Mordecai match in sight), but it's still not a very good show overall. It was great, and quickly established Brodie Lee as a dominant threat. Months after the match, Cody himself would say that the choice to go with a squash match was inspired by another squash match nearly 23 years earlier. That squash match came from New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where a debuting Big Van Vader would crush Antonio Inoki after he had already had a match. Why am I telling you this? Because about eight months later, AEW would decide to incorporate another idea from New Japan and Antonio Inoki... Inoki-ism Yes, good old Inoki-ism, the name given to its namesake's push to blend p...
