- AJ Styles (c) vs John Cena-United States Championship-EXCEPT NOPE! Kevin Owens comes out before the bell rings and says nobody wants to see another John Cena-AJ Styles match. That is a lie. I love Kevin Owens, but that is a lie. He says everyone wants to see the rightful owner of the title get it back, which his himself. He says nobody wants to see Cena back and tells him to stay away from his title. Cena challenges him to get him out of the ring before he is attacked by Rusev. Charlotte says Lana doesn't deserve to be in the match, which Natalya responds to by saying she hasn't deserved anything in her career. Becky says the same thing about Natalya before Shane sends them all away except Naomi. Carmella then shows up with a letter from her lawyer demanding Shane reinstate James Ellsworth. Shane rips the letter up.

The heels control the match as Lana comes down to ringside. Natalya goes for the Sharpshooter, but Becky blocks it and tags in Charlotte. Charlotte runs wild on the heels, chopping Natalya before booting her in the face and dropping a knee. Charlotte suplexes Natalya as Lana hops up on the apron. Rusev tags in and stomps away at Cena in the corner before the commercial break. We come back to Cena beginning to mount a comeback, only for Rusev to connect with a spinning heel kick for a near fall. Rusev goes for a diving headbutt, but Cena rolls out of the way. Can we like...stop doing that move. Not that I'm like, over sensitive, but considering how the people who are famous for using it ended up either unable to wrestle-paralyzed-or dead with serious brain damage-maybe people should stop doing it. Styles gets the hot tag and hits a sliding forearm before locking in the Calf Crusher. Owens breaks up the hold before Styles goes for the Ushigoroshi, but Rusev blocks it and roundhouse kicks Styles for a near fall. Owens tags in and beats down Styles before hitting a senton for a near fall. The heels control the match until Styles lands on his feet off a back suplex and hits an enziguri. Styles takes out Rusev with a Phenomenal Forearm before Pele kicking Owens, who wonders into an AA from Cena for the three and the win. Pretty good main event. After the match, Cena & Styles go face to face in the ring.

An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20...
