Worst in the World: Fall Brawl '98's Five Matches of Doom

Usually, when I do entries in the Worst in the World, I'll cover a single match. Sometimes, I'll bust out a double feature. One time I took on three matches. Hell, I've even gone for four at once. But today, I'm going all out. Five matches in one post. And all of them come from Fall Brawl 1998, quite possibly the worst top-to-bottom wrestling show that has ever been put on by a major company. The average star rating for the matches on this show from Dave Meltzer is below a quarter of a star. The whole show; less than a quarter of a star. Not even some of the most notoriously bad pay-per-views have average match ratings that low. Uncensored 1996 with the Doomsday Cage? Still higher. December to Dismember, the show that pretty much killed the ECW revival and had the lowest buy rate in WWE history pre-Network? Still higher. Victory Road 2009, the show with...
...that. Still higher. Granted, that average isn't as bad as Heroes of Wrestling, but if we're setting the bar that low, there might as well not even be a bar at all. So yeah, five matches, all with ratings below one star. Actually, there are six matches on this card with ratings below one star, because Fall Brawl '98 also featured the clusterfuck 3 vs 3 vs 3 War Games match, a match I've already covered. So yeah...this show is a nightmare, so let's get into it.

Match #1: British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart vs The Dancing Fools

Our first match in this pentalogy of poor performances (I'm fucking great at what I do) takes us to the opening contest of Fall Brawl 1998, as the team of the British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart take on the Dancing Fools, consisting of Alex Wright, famous for his "pick me" rant in WCW Thunder on the Playstation, and Disco Inferno, famous for saying stupid shit online. Bulldog & Neidhart are about a year removed from leaving the WWF with Bret Hart following the Montreal Screwjob and...aren't really doing anything. Bulldog got to feud with Mongo for a bit...so there's that. This match came about when Wright proclaimed he was the best WCW wrestler from Europe, and Bulldog disagreed...that's it.
The match starts with immediate confusion. Disco plays up to the crowd...and they cheer? And then Bulldog plays up to the crowd...and they boo? Are the Dancing Fools the faces? They can't be, because the crowd chants "USA" and Wright covers his ears and tries to leave. But Neidhart tries to get the crowd to quiet down because Bulldog is also not from America...so who are you meant to cheer for in this match? And then Mike Tenay mentions on commentary that Bulldog & Neidhart tried to get Bret Hart to join them and beat down Lex Luger, who is in the nWo Wolfpac and is a good guy...but then Hart teamed up with Luger, even though he's part of nWo Hollywood and feuding with nWo Wolfpac. Unless I'm missing something, this makes absolutely zero sense.
So after over a minute of stalling, Wright and Bulldog lock up to start, with Wright taking down Bulldog with an arm drag. This leads to Bulldog, who has hair that's too short to pull, claiming that Wright pulled his hair...and the referee believes him! What? Also, how does this spot keep coming up in matches I cover? The two lock up again, ending with Bulldog forcing Wright into the corner and beating him down. Wright is able to gain the upper hand and gets some shots of his own in. The two go back and forth before Bulldog hits a hip toss followed by a military press slam before tagging in Neidhart. Disco tags in and the two lock up, with Neidhart overpowering him easily. Neidhart floors Disco with two shoulder blocks, the second of which Disco bumps big for, before mocking him with a little wiggle. Disco is not pleased.
The two go back and forth before Disco takes down Neidhart with a drop toe hold before stomping away at him, getting a big pop. Neidhart gains control with a quick jab, but Disco counters a body slam attempt and hits a running knee lift. Neidhart gains control, forcing Disco into the corner and beating him down before tagging in Bulldog. Disco is able to tag in after Wright cheap shots Bulldog with his knee, allowing Wright to beat down on Bulldog before dancing. Wright goes for a monkey flip...but Bulldog is able to land on his feet, something I did not expect from a wrestler the size of Bulldog.
That impressive feat is immediately followed up with a jumping back kick by Wright for a near fall. Wright beats down Bulldog in the corner before hitting a wrist lock takedown, but Bulldog catches a charging Wright with a back elbow before hitting a clothesline. However, Wright keeps control, countering a back body drop attempt with a kick to the face. Disco tags in for a middle rope (aka Bret's rope, for added insult) elbow drop for a near fall before hitting an atomic drop, but Bulldog is able to send a charging Disco out of the ring. Neidhart beats down Disco at ringside, tossing him hard into the guard rail. Disco Inferno might be a douchebag in real life, but man, he's a bumper.
Back in the ring, Bulldog controls the match with a headlock before hitting a knee lift and going back to the headlock. Bulldog blocks a sunset flip attempt, but Disco stomps on his foot and hits a body block. Bulldog is able to take back control with a Stun Gun that almost misses the top rope entirely. Neidhart tags in despite being halfway across the apron.
Neidhart beats down on Disco, biting his forehead in the corner before throwing him into Bulldog's boot for a two-count. Bulldog tags back for a body slam before this happens...
It looked like they were going for a slingshot splash, but Disco just sprung up to his feet, so Neidhart had to switch to a shoulder block and it just looked awful. Like, there's no reason Neidhart couldn't have seen him other than "it's the spot, so I'm doing it." Disco makes the hot tag to Wright, who hits a big missile dropkick on Neidhart, followed by a dropkick on Bulldog and a back body drop that probably ruined Bulldog's career.
And just to be clear, this wasn't Wright's fault, it was WCW's. To make it seem like the Ultimate Warrior was magic and could teleport...for some reason...WCW set up the ring to have a trap door so Warrior could make an elaborate entrance. You can't see the actual door that well, but you can tell this isn't a normal ring based on the fact that it doesn't move whatsoever when Bulldog bumps on it. Multiple bad bumps on that door caused Bulldog to get a spinal infection that nearly paralyzed him, put him in the hospital for six months, got him fired via FedEx, and gave him a painkiller & morphine addiction. All because WCW wanted to hype up a shitty Hogan-Warrior rematch with magic. Fuck this company.
Wright picks up Bulldog and, after a few European uppercuts (or, as Wright would call them...uppercuts), gives him a bodyslam, causing him to take another nasty bump. Bulldog goes for the powerslam, but Disco saves Wright, allowing the Fools to hit a double clothesline. Disco tags in, but a miscommunication allows Bulldog to hit the running powerslam. And by "hits", I mean he barely gets Disco up because his back is absolutely ruined.
Bulldog gets the three and the win. Neidhart gives Disco a stomp for good measure before he & Bulldog head to the back.

The Verdict

The majority of the match isn't awful. It's fairly average with a couple of nice little spots. The heel and face divide is just all over the place, but most of the match is perfectly acceptable. However, towards the end, things just kind of start to fall apart. The botched Stun Gun followed by whatever that slingshot was supposed to be. And of course, the ugly finish, with Bulldog being too hurt to properly hit his finisher. Add on the fact the injuries Bulldog suffered ended up ruining his career, and how completely avoidable they were, and this match gets knocked a peg.

Match #2: Chris Jericho vs Goldberg

Immediately following the Bulldog/Neidhart-Dancing Fools match, we got our next matchup on the list. Chris Jericho vs Goldberg. The shining star of the Cruiserweight division vs WCW's breakout star. TV Champion vs World Champion. Title vs Title. Goldberg's streak on the line. A hot feud with Jericho calling out Goldberg, and the match being announced by Jericho himself at the start of the show. How could this possibly be bad? Well...there's a couple of ways. The big one being that this "hot feud" was actually one-sided. And by "one-sided" I mean that Jericho basically did all the work, and Goldberg didn't even acknowledge his existence. It's well known that Goldberg had no interest in wrestling Jericho, and WCW had no interest in having them wrestle. All this taunting ultimately leads to nothing and Jericho just kind of looks like an ineffective clown. I get that's kind of the whole point of Jericho's gimmick, but at least when he does stuff like this to Dean Malenko or Orange Cassidy in AEW, he backs it up in the ring. Here, he's got nothing. So, instead of the match that they hyped up at the beginning of the show, what do we get?
Let's start with the positives. For starters, Jericho is hilarious during his entrance, parodying Goldberg's iconic entrance but continuously getting lost backstage. This is followed up by, instead of being surrounded by sparks like Goldberg, Jericho gets shitty little fireworks spooters.
Amazing. Goldberg's music hits and outcomes...this man.
A tiny Goldberg. And I mean "tiny", this man has to be 5'5 max.
The two lock up, with Jericho shoving the fake Goldberg (more like Bronzeburg) to the ground. The two trade wristlocks before Jericho hits a clothesline as the crowd chants "BULLSHIT!" I would love to know what WCW thought would happen here. Did they really think fans would be OK with this bait and switch? Instead of a Champion vs Champion, Winner Take All match featuring the World Heavyweight Champion WHO ISN'T EVEN ON THE CARD, TO BEGIN WITH FOR SOME REASON, they're getting a nothing match. It'd be a little more understandable if Jericho just came out and made the challenge on the spot and didn't hype this up to start the show, or they just did this on free TV. This is a pay-per-view, people paid a lot of money to watch this. It'd be like if your friend invited you over to watch Titanic, only when you got there, they tell you you're watching Titanic II instead. And yes, that's a real movie.
Jericho follows up with a suplex and his signature cocky pin for a near fall before Mini Goldberg manages to hit a spear. Jericho immediately no-sells it and boots the tiny imposter in the face, following up with kicks and insults. Jericho locks in the Liontamer for the submission win, keeping it locked in for a good while before ripping up Mini Goldberg's fake title. And that's the end of this segment. Jericho gets no comeuppance from Goldberg. This achieved literally nothing.

The Verdict

Like I said, this was just a waste of time. The match is nothing, there's no reason this should've been on the card. Hell, I could've looked past all that if this was fun. This is Chris Jericho. The guy who knows 1004 holds and wrote them all down. The guy who came up with the List of Jericho. The guy who took part in Le Dinner Debonair. He's genuinely one of the most entertaining people in professional wrestling history. And this is prime Funny Chris Jericho. If there's anyone who should have been able to make this work, it's him. And yet, this match is so devoid of anything entertaining. For shame.

Match #3: Ernest Miller vs Norman Smiley

Once again, we get no break in between the garbage, as match #3 is another stinker in Ernest "The Cat" Miller against Norman Smiley. Both are probably best known for their comedy gimmicks towards the end of WCW, Miller's being his James Brown knock-off and Smiley's being his cowardly hardcore wrestler, but we're not there yet. Hell, Smiley doesn't even have his snooty "Nor-men Smi-lay" name pronunciation yet, but at least he's got the Big Wiggle. Meanwhile, Miller's taken on the role of the arrogant karate champion, bragging about how he's the greatest. This match actually came about as a result of a funny segment where Miller attacked Steve & Scott Armstrong during a rare interview (something they themselves admit) with Mike Tenay, complaining about not getting TV time. Smiley objected, so now we have a match. Is this match really deserving of a -1 star rating? Let's find out.
Before the match, Miller takes to the mic to brag about being a three-time karate champion before offering to let Smiley leave without getting beat up, solely on the basis that they are both black. No, really, that's the only reason. I laughed. Miller turns his back, but Smiley doesn't go anywhere, turning him around and catching him with a forearm. The bell rings and Smiley strikes away at Miller, landing a jumping headbutt before dropkicking Miller out of the ring. Miller argues with fans before Smiley gets out of the ring, where Miller catches him with a superkick. Miller tosses Smiley into the guard rail before tossing him back in the ring. Miller strikes away at Smiley, beating him down in the corner with chops before Smiley fights back, only for Miller to hit a superkick and a double palm thrust. Miller lands some Muay Thai knees, only for Smiley to block one and hit a twisting belly-to-black suplex. Smiley follows up with a leg drop. That'll get you heat with Hogan!
Smiley follows with an elbow drop for a near fall before tossing Miller into the corner. Miller begs for mercy, only to rake the eyes and take Smiley down with a leg sweep. Miller chokes Smiley against the ropes, cutting off a comeback attempt with another superkick, before locking in an armbar after an arm drag takedown. Smiley fights to his feet and takes down Miller with a drop-toe hold, which he follows up with a bodyslam. Smiley slams Miller's head into the turnbuckle three times before hitting a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall. Smiley takes Miller to the top rope, but Miller knocks him down with a double jump diving Feliner, a twisting roundhouse kick. Miller follows up with a more traditional Feliner for the three and the win.

The Verdict

Honestly... it's one of the best matches I've seen since I started doing this series. No hyperbole. It's obviously not a very good match, and being the best match in a series that looks at the absolute worst wrestling matches of all time is like saying you're the best player on the New York Jets, but I genuinely don't think this match is actually that bad. Nothing is really botched that badly, it's brief enough that it doesn't overstay its welcome, and there were some genuinely nice moments of wrestling. So yeah...towards the top of the list.

Match #4: Rick Steiner vs Scott Steiner

So, because joy is a foreign concept to WCW, the fourth match on this entry is also the fourth match of this show. And, like the Jericho-Goldberg "match", this one has some actual heat behind it. Back in February, Scott turned on Rick to join the nWo, the culmination of a dissension angle that had been brewing since late 1997. Gone was the amateur wrestling standout Scott Steiner, and the platinum-haired, loud-mouthed Big Poppa Pump we all know and love was born. It's been seven months, but the Steiners have yet to face off in a singles match. In that time, Rick has been ambushed after Scott teased a change of heart, been ambushed again by a returning Buff Bagwell, who was injured in a match with Rick almost five months prior, also teasing a change of heart only to rejoin the nWo, and has attacked Scott with a chair. This led to Road Wild, where the two were supposed to face off in a grudge match, only for Scott to pull out due to him being comically injured.
However, commissioner J.J. Dillon announced that the Steiners would face off at Fall Brawl, and if Scott didn't wrestle, he'd be banned from wrestling from life. Not WCW, his exact words were "barred from wrestling for life." I guess every wrestling company in the world would've just honored WCW decision here. But thank God he wrestles at this show, we never would've gotten Steiner Math if he didn't. Obviously, Scott sprung to life at that announcement. So now we're here at Fall Brawl. Will this match live up to expectations? It's WCW in during the Monday Night Wars...so no.
We get some classic Jimmy Hart toeing the line of copyright infringement during the entrances. It's well known that the nWo's theme samples a variety of Jimi Hendrix guitar riffs, but man, Rick's entrance theme is just "Welcome to the Jungle" with some added dog sounds at the beginning.. WWE must have a deal with Guns N' Roses because I'm shocked this is still on the Network, especially since DDP's Smells Like Teen Spirit and Chris Jericho's Even Flow knock-offs are nowhere to be found. Despite Scott not being in the ring, the bells rings. The two immediately start with a brawl, with Rick getting the better of the exchange before flooring Scott with a huge lariat. Rick follows up with an elbow drop before continuing to beat down Scott until he leaves the ring. Rick follows him out, tossing over the guard rail before pulling him back over to ringside. Back in the ring, Bagwell grabs Rick's ankle, distracting the referee and allowing Scott to ask Rick what the capital of Thailand is
Two kicks to the balls gives Scott the momentum as he tosses Rick out of the ring and into the ring steps. After throwing him into the barricade, Scott throws Rick back in the ring before flooring him with a clothesline. Scott follows up with a butterfly suplex attempt, but Rick blocks it and hits a DDT before going to the second rope for the diving bulldog. Bagwell hops up on the apron for the interference, but Rick grabs him and throws him towards the turnbuckle. Despite his head going nowhere near the turnbuckle, Bagwell falls to the apron motionless.
As Bagwell lays on the apron, the Steiners brawl at ringside and back in the ring. Eventually, Scott checks on Bagwell, no selling a shot from Rick as Bagwell says he hurt his neck again. The crowd is having absolutely none of this, as they just saw Bagwell's terrible sell-job, and they ALREADY PULLED THIS RUSE. The referee signals for help as Rick stays cautious, yelling at the medics and asking if Bagwell is really hurt. Bagwell gets stretchered out, with both Steiners following, as they stick with this for well over two minutes and even Eric Bischoff makes an appearance to really sell this. Bagwell tells someone to call his mom as he is put in the ambulance, with Scott going with him...and SWERVE! A swerve that anyone watching saw coming. Scott & Bagwell jump Rick and beat him down.

The Verdict

The actual match is pretty fun. The opening is actually great, and while it's not super exciting, it's still pretty alright. However, the bait and switch takes away so much from this match, and the terrible execution of the swerve just made it worse. The match itself was fine, but everything surrounding it ruins it.

Match #5: Konnan vs Scott Hall

Finally, WCW figures out that booking terrible match after terrible match is a bad thing, and gives us a pallet cleanser in the form of a decent Juventud Guerrera-Silver King match, a great Perry Saturn-Raven match, and a shockingly bad Dean Malenko-Curt Hennig match. Unfortunately, it's almost like they were luring the viewers into a fall sense of security because now we have...Last Call Scott Hall. It's no secret that Scott Hall has struggled with addiction throughout his life and career. By 1998, a messy divorce caused Hall to increase his drinking. WCW decided the best course of action was to portray Hall as a flat-out alcoholic, showing up to work drunk, and even taking drink breaks during his matches. Long story short, the angle is incredibly tasteless, and Eric Bischoff has gone on record saying he regrets booking this. This match, one of the first Hall worked under the gimmick, was announced by J.J. Dillon, forcing him to come back to work after an absence. Earlier in the show, Konnan says that Hall has been going through problems in his personal life, prompting a clearly intoxicated Hall to berate K-Dogg before throwing a drink in his face. So now we get to watch a real-life alcoholic play a kayfabe alcoholic that has completely fallen off the wagon and gotten drunk on the job. Isn't wrestling just fun?
Hall's out first. Well, Vincent (Virgil) is out first, with Hall slowly walking out after him, drink in hand.
Vincent quickly gets the drink away from him before Hall makes his way to the ring...the wrong ring.
Hall eventually gets in the right ring, stumbling around the ring before taking the mic, slurring his words while taking sips from his drink. He does a survey, asking if the crowd came to see nWo Hollywood or nWo Wolfpac. The crowd cheers for the Wolfpac, so Hall just ignores them. Konnan comes out and cuts a cheap pop promo. The match starts and Hall immediately switches rings. Konnan follows him, so Hall switches again. Hall flicks his toothpick at Konnan before stumbling, so Konnan yells "ANDALE" at him and aggressively grabs his balls.
Hall responds by saying Konnan has a tiny penis because "attitude." After a minute of shenanigans, the two lock up, with Hall taking control with a wrist lock. Hall works the arm, slapping Konnan in the process before Konnan hits a clothesline. Konnan smacks Hall a bunch before grabbing his balls again and riling up the crowd. Hall takes control again with another wristlock, but Konnan breaks the hold with a hair pull takedown. Nothing happens for an odd amount of time before Hall taunts Konnan with a fake test of strength spot, repeatedly switching hands. Konnan responds by clocking him before hitting a rolling clothesline and grabbing his sack again. I wouldn't have even been 2 yet so I wasn't watching, was this just Konnan's thing? He's done it three times now.
Hall tries to enter the other ring, but Konnan catches him, stomping away at him and wedging him between the two rings.
Hall crawls under one of the rings as Vincent hops up on the apron to distract Konnan. Hall sneaks out from under the ring and slowly tries to jump Konnan, but K-Dogg catches him with a clothesline. Bobby Heenan theorizes that Konnan could smell Hall coming, which is a good line. Hall rolls out of the ring and takes a sip from his drink. The referee starts to count him out, so Hall mocks him, waiting on the apron and counting along with him until entering the ring at 9. Hall takes control of the match with a surfboard hold, which he locks in almost uninterrupted for TWO WHOLE MINUTES. Konnan fights out and locks in a surfboard of his own, but can't get Hall down to his knees. This allows him to push the referee into the corner, obscuring his view so he can low blow Konnan. Konnan makes the cover for a near fall.
Hall follows up with a fallaway slam for a near fall before locking in an abdominal stretch. Vincent offers his hand to give Hall extra leverage, but Hall just asks for his drink, which Vincent gives him.
Vincent might be the worst AA sponsor. Hall starts using the ropes for leverage before breaking the hold and clobbering Konnan. Konnan eventually locks in an abdominal stretch of his own, but Hall quickly breaks it with a hip toss. Konnan dodges three elbow drop, blocks a few punches, and rams his head into the turnbuckle twice, but a big boot and a clothesline keeps Hall in control. Hall sets Konnan on the top rope and hits a belly-to-back superplex. Hall stumbles around and calls for the Outsider's Edge...but opts to take a drink before he does. This allows Konnan to kick the drink out of his hand, hit a facebuster, and lock in the Tequila Sunrise. Hall taps out, which gives Tenay a funny line about wondering if he was just ordering another round.

The Verdict

Obviously, this whole angle is incredibly tasteless, especially considering how this was a real issue Hall was going through being exploited for "entertainment." But how is the actual match? Not good. It's not quite as bad as many of the other matches on this list, but it's still pretty boring. There are a few spots that are fine, and there's nothing that gets botched. I'm actually surprised how little the drunk Scott Hall gimmick actually affected the in-ring work. Still, it's a nothing match that isn't worth watching.

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20...

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like...

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse ...

Worst in the World: Nia Jax's Worst Matches

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Nia Jax's first run with the WWE can really only be described as hard to watch. Sure, she had a few stand-out matches, most notably (and surprisingly) her match with Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, and an underrated gem with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: London, but those were always outshined by her most infamous matches and moments. She's since returned to WWE and, for the most part, seems to have improved a bit, but the reputation she got from her initial run is gonna be hard to shake off. This week, I'll be looking at some of Jax's worst matches. These include just flat-out bad matches, and matches that have become infamous examples of her reckless in-ring work. Match #1: vs Charlotte Flair-April 10th, 2017 Raw The first match we'll be looking at is from the April 10, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, when Nia took on Charlotte Flair. The two had been on the losing e...

Worst in the World: Eric Young & Shark Boy vs Generation Me-TNA Destination X 2011

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, few tag teams made as much noise on the independent scene as the Young Bucks. Really breaking out at a time when WWE made their tag division a borderline afterthought, Matt & Nick Jackson were almost unmatched in terms of elite matches on the indys, most notably in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla & Ring of Honor before joining New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Bullet Club, becoming mainstays of the group as it reached its peak throughout the mid-2010s. Sure, their style hasn't endeared them to old-school wrestling fans, but you can't deny their impact on wrestling. And with the arrival of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, North American fans would finally get to see the Young Bucks on national television for the first time... However... In what has become somewhat of a footnote in their careers, the Young Bucks had been on a nationally televised wrestlin...
