My Thoughts on SmackDown (9/13/16): Champ That Runs the Camp

We kick off the show with (and I've been waiting a long time to be able to say this) the NEW...WWE WORLD CHAMPION AJ STYLES! Styles proclaims that the champ is here and says that he told us so. He told us that he would beat John Cena at SummerSlam, and he did. He said he was going to beat Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship, and he did. Styles says that if tells the crowd anything, then he's right. He says not only is he the face that runs the place, but also the champ that runs the camp. Unfortunately, this brings out John Cena. I already don't like where this is heading. Cena says Styles has what he wants. Not his armband like Styles gives him, but the WWE World Championship, and he's decided he wants to take it back. He quotes Ric Flair and says if he wins the title one more time, he enters the conversation as one of the greatest of all time. He says Styles is the face that runs the place, but he's the man who never quits and says his last goal in WW...

My Thoughts on RAW (9/12/16): Foxhunter

We kick off the show with Mick Foley in the ring. He hypes up tonight's Roman Reigns/Kevin Owens match up before bringing out Charlotte. Despite smacking the sh*t out of her, Dana Brooke comes out with her because what else are they gonna do with her. Charlotte says an apology is in order...from Dana. She says she was embarrassed because Dana caused her to lose Bayley last week and because she got beat up by Sasha Banks. She threatens to end her mentorship of Dana before Foley interrupts her and says she has to defend her Women's Championship at Clash of Champions before Sasha Banks comes out. She's the face of the Women's Division and the only legit boss in WWE. She says she'll take the Women's Championship back from Charlotte in two weeks before Bayley comes out. She nervously says that because she beat Charlotte last week, maybe she should get the title shot at Clash of Champions. Sasha says that they might be friends, but that Bayley needs to get to the...

Backlash 2016 Predictions

Match #1: The Miz (c) vs Dolph Ziggler-Intercontinental Championship Winner: The Miz I'm sorry, I love Dolph Ziggler and all, but the Miz is straight fire right now. Ever since that Talking Smack promo, Miz has just been so great. I'd love to see Ziggler win the belt and get some kind of momentum going, but I think taking the title off of Miz tonight would be a mistake. I'm going with the Miz. Match #2: Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt Winner: Bray Wyatt Now, this might just be me being blinded by what I want to happen over what I think will happen, but I'm going with Bray Wyatt for the win. After Orton got murked at SummerSlam by Brock Lesnar a month ago, I wouldn't put it past WWE to give Orton the W over Wyatt as compensation for doing the job for Lesnar. However, I think Bray Wyatt needs this win...a lot. Wyatt desperately needs a big, clean win after years of directionless booking. Again, it probably won't happen, but I'm picking Wyatt. M...

Worst in the World: King Kong Bundy & Jim Neidhart vs Yokozuna & Jake Roberts-Heroes of Wrestling

Yeah...this is is going to be hard. Not hard because it's bad, but because this match is very infamous in the wrestling industry for one very depressing reason. For as bad as the entirety of the Heroes of Wrestling show is, it would most likely be forgotten in time if it weren't for this match. This is the infamous match where the legendary Jake the Snake Roberts showed up completely intoxicated to wrestle Jim Neidhart.  Roberts had well-publicized issues with drugs and alcohol throughout his career. There's even a scene in the documentary Beyond the Mat where Roberts is interviewed after reportedly smoking crack. Luckily, Roberts was able to get his life back on track with the help of Diamond Dallas Page in 2012 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. But unfortunately, he still had a very public relapse in front of thousands of people at this show. He was so intoxicated, in fact, that the promoter had to change the planned double main event of Roberts vs ...

My Thoughts on NXT (9/7/16): I Can Be Athletic Too

TM61 vs Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari- Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari from the Cruiserweight Classic making their NXT debut against TM-61. Thorne & Nese start off with Nese lighting up Thorne with kicks. Thorne quickly recovers and hits a hesitation dropkick before both men tag out. Miller & Daivari exchange strikes before Daivari sends Miller into the second turnbuckle. Nese then dropkicks Miller out of the ring and hits a twisting plancha, followed up by a somersault plancha by Thorne. TM61 work over Nese before Daivari distracts the referee and allows Nese to cheap shot Thorne in the throat. Nese & Daivari work over Thorne until Thorne blasts Daivari with a big uppercut. Nese is able to cut off Thorne from Miller before the commercial break. We come back to Daivari decking Thorne with a rolling elbow. Thorne is able to make the tag and Miller gets in. Miller & Nese exchange kicks before Miller dodges a knee and clotheslines, Nese. Thorne tags in and TM61 run thro...

Worst in the World: Major Gunns vs Miss Hancock-New Blood Rising

A lot of criticism has been thrown lately at how the WWE presented women's wrestling during the Attitude Era. The fact that there was a period where the only way you could get TV time was to take off your clothes and fight in anything from an evening gown match to a lingerie pillow fight to a match where you've got to throw another woman into a pool of stuff did nothing but show that WWE was only interested in using female wrestlers for getting cheap tits & ass pops in the ratings. WWE have moved past this, but it's still a pretty bleak part of history looking back nowadays. That being said, it doesn't even compare to the women in WCW. With not even a title to fight for whatsoever, women in WCW were used solely as eye candy and nothing else. And today, I look at one of those matches. It's Miss Hancock, aka Stacy Keibler, against Major Gunns, aka adult film star Tylene Buck. Searchy searchy. It's a woman named after a dick joke against a woman named afte...

My Thoughts on SmackDown (9/6/16): Alexa Bliss From Outta Nowhere

We kick off the show with Daniel Bryan in the ring with the SmackDown Women's Championship. He hypes up the Six-Pack Challenge at Backlash this Sunday for the title and explains the match will be elimination. He also announces a six-woman tag match tonight and that they will be doing a championship forum right now. He brings out Becky Lynch before plugging Total Bellas to a lot of boos. Becky says becoming the first SmackDown Women's Champion would mean everything and would be the payoff for everything she's fought for. Outcomes Natalya, who says Becky is boring. She has no room to talk. Natalya says the night she & Becky got drafted to the same show was the worst night of her career. Literally out of nowhere, no music or anything, Alexa Bliss comes out and slams Natalya, Becky, and even Bryan. Also out of nowhere, Carmella comes in and the heels argue. They make up and get ready to beat up Becky, but Naomi and Nikki Bella run down to even the odds. Nikki gets floo...
