Match #1: Cajun & Loco vs The Perfect Event
Our first match from Halloween Havoc 2000 is the third match on the card. The beginning of this show lures you into a false sense of security, as the opening triple threat Tag Team Championship match and the Hardcore Championship match between Reno and Sgt. AWOL (The Wall) are both pretty solid, fun matches. The show then proceeds to fall off a cliff entirely, as the next seven all have bad ratings. Starting with this match, we have Corporal Cajun (Lash LeRoux) & Lt. Loco (Chavo Guerrero Jr.) of the Misfits in Action taking on the Natural Born Thrillers' Shawn Stasiak & Chuck Palumbo, collectively known as The Perfect Event. This match was a mid-show addition that came about after The Perfect Event joined their Natural Born Thrillers' teammate Reno in a 3-on-1 post-match beatdown of Sgt. AWOL, with Cajun & Loco running down to save their fellow Misfit in Action. Instead of just having a match right then and there, we get three minutes of pre-taped segments, replays, and the commentators talking before, apparently, both teams make their entrances, meaning they both walked backstage just so they could come back out right after. We're told the challenge was made backstage, but we never see this. This is not off to a promising start. This match doesn't have enough votes on Cagematch.net to get a rating, but received just a quarter of a star from Dave Meltzer.
We get an instant brawl to start the match, ending with Loco hitting a pop-up dropkick on Palumbo that's cool in theory, but doesn't look great in practice, while Cajun hits a regular dropkick on Stasiak. Cajun & Loco follow up with a drop toe-hold/dropkick combo on Stasiak before Loco chops & clotheslines him. Stasiak fires back with a knee lift before tagging in Palumbo, who quickly walks into a drop toe-hold from Loco, who follows up with a dropkick & and an arm drag. Loco tags in Cajun before hitting a back suplex, leaving Palumbo in position for a second rope elbow drop from Cajun. Cajun follows up with a snap suplex for a two-count. Palumbo tries to mount a comeback by reversing an Irish whip from Cajun but Cajun keeps control with a boot in the corner and a second rope clothesline. Loco tags in, but Palumbo takes control by sending a charging Loco out of the ring. So far, this is a pretty decent match.
Stasiak tags in, but in-fighting between The Perfect Event nearly costs them when Cajun dropkicks Palumbo into Stasiak, allowing Loco to roll up Stasiak for a two count. Stasiak regains control of the match with a clothesline before The Perfect Event hits a double flapjack on Loco. Stasiak follows up by standing on Loco's neck before hitting a big gutwrench powerbomb and making the cover, but Cajun breaks up the pin. Palumbo tags in and cuts off Loco's comeback, catching his crossbody attempt and hitting a fallaway slam before covering him with one foot on his chest, which Loco easily kicks out of. Palumbo shuts down another comeback from Loco with a belly-to-belly suplex for a two-count before tagging in Stasiak. Loco, however, takes control of the match with a crazy counter, reversing a gorilla press from Stasiak when he catches him with a facebuster after Stasiak drops him. Cajun gets the hot tag and runs wild on The Perfect Event, but Stasiak cuts him with a big clothesline for a two count.
Palumbo tags in for a big boot before Stasiak hits a clothesline, and then Palumbo locks in a sleeper hold on Cajun. Cajun starts to fade, but keeps his hand up when the referee drops it. Cajun fights out of the hold...only for Palumbo to put it right back on. Cajun fights out again and hits a springboard facebuster before making the tag to Loco. Loco runs wild, hitting a dropkick on Stasiak and a nice DDT on Palumbo. Both teams brawl in the ring, but a superkick attempt from Palumbo to Cajun sees Cajun do the splits to avoid it, causing Stasiak to get hit. Cajun takes out Palumbo while Loco capitalizes, hitting a tornado DDT on Stasiak for the three and the win.
The Verdict
Far better than the quarter-star rating from Dave Meltzer. It's obviously not a great match, but it's still a fairly fun watch with a couple of nice spots. I'm putting this towards the top of the list.

Match #2: Konnan & Tygress vs Douglas & Torrie
The next match on the card is the next match we'll be looking at; an intergender tag match pitting Konnan & Tygress of the Filthy Animals against Shane Douglas (or simply "The Franchise" depending on where you look) and Torrie Wilson. Konnan is coming into this match worse for ware, as he was on commentary during the triple threat Tag Team Championship match in support of his Filthy Animals teammates Billy Kidman & Rey Mysterio Jr., but ended up getting beaten down by Mark Jindrak & Sean O'Haire when he tried to save Mysterio, who was being attacked by Alex Wright with a chair. As for Tygress, she's a former Nitro girl who only had a handful of matches before retiring when WCW closed. This match earned a DUD (zero stars) rating from Dave Meltzer and holds a 1.00 rating out of 10 on Cagematch.net. Let's get into this.
Douglas & Torrie are out first, with Douglas grabbing a mic and, since Konnan is hurt, challenges Tygress to come down to the ring and wrestle 2-on-1. Torrie Wilson is also going to wrestle in high heel boots, which has to suck.
Tygress obliges, coming down to the ring alone. Let's see how bad of an idea it is to have a barely trained wrestler do the brunt of the work for her team, even if it's just the beginning of the match. Tygress tries to kick Douglas, but Douglas catches her foot, allowing Torrie to push her down, which Tygress bumps for slowly. The bell rings and Tygress quickly kicks Douglas in the dick right in front of referee Charles Robinson, which isn't a disqualification because the company is dying and who fucking cares? Tygress then hits a really rough arm drag on Torrie before kicking her on the ground. Tygress sets Torrie up for the Bronco Buster, but Douglas throws her to the ground by her hair. Douglas & Torrie stomp away at Tygress before setting her up for a double Franchiser, which is a really dumb-looking inverted Stunner. They hold Tygress in place for a long time as they wait for Konnan to run in from the crowd to make the save.
Douglas pounces on the injured Konnan, only for him to hit a double clothesline on Douglas & Torrie and completely forget he's supposed to be working an injury angle. Torrie retreats from the ring as Konnan follows up with a rolling clothesline on Douglas, sending Douglas out of the ring as well. Konnan then hits a dropkick through the ropes on Douglas while Tygress goes for a baseball slide on Torrie but comes up short and Torrie doesn't even try to sell it. Both teams brawl at ringside, with Konnan whipping Douglas into the guard rail while Torrie does the same to Tygress. Konnan throws Douglas back in the ring and holds him in place for Tygres to dive off the top rope for a double axe handle. She then tags in Konnan while he's still standing in the ring. What are we even doing here?
Konnan chops Douglas before tagging in Tygress so the two can double-team. Torrie tries to break it up, but Konnan scares her off as Tygress starts biting Douglas' arm. Mark Madden on commentary says she's turning into Joyce Grable, who wrestled throughout the '70s & '80s. Stevie Ray simply replies "INTO WHO!?" Douglas takes control of the match by just clocking Tygress in the face. Torrie tags in and rubs Tygress' tummy for some reason before kicking her in the gut. Tygress fights back with a kick to the gut of her own before hitting the Stuff Buster (a sit-out facebuster/the X-Factor), but Torrie kicks out. Tygress sells hitting her own finisher longer than Torrie sells being hit by it, allowing Torrie & Douglas to regain control.
Torrie rubs Tygress' face into the mat before tagging in Douglas to lock in a Camel Clutch. Douglas breaks the hold and stomps Tygress before locking in a crossface chickenwing. Tygress breaks the hold and sends Douglas out of the ring and, after a Three Stooges routine of her crawling around & through the legs of Douglas multiple times, makes the hot tag to Konnan. Konnan runs wild, hitting a backdrop, a seated dropkick, and a DDT on Douglas before making the cover, but Torrie breaks it by clawing at Konnan's eyes. Tygress & Torrie fight in the corner as Konnan hits the 10 punches in the corner on Douglas. Tygress sets Torrie up for the Bronco Buster, only for Wilson to Charles Robinson in the way. Even though Tygress can clearly see Robinson in the way, she still runs over and hits the Bronco Buster on Robinson.
This match is killing me.
Meanwhile, Douglas drops Konnan across the top rope before Torrie runs over and hits the Franchiser on him, spitting on him right after. Torrie makes the cover even though she's not the legal person, but Tygress breaks it up. Konnan & Tygress then hit a double Stuff Buster on Douglas, and even though Torrie is right there and there is nothing stopping her from breaking up the pin, she stays still and Konnan makes the cover and gets the three for the win.
Honestly, whatever made that match end quicker is fine by me.
The Verdict
Terrible. Tygress & Torrie are both insanely green and shows whenever they are in the ring. So many botches & ugly spots. The match is better when Douglas and Konnan are wrestling, but they're not lighting the world on fire either. Konnan also just completely ignores the injury he's supposed to have sustained earlier in the night, which knocks the match even more. This was a tough watch and well deserving of its bad ratings.

Match #3: Buff Bagwell vs David Flair
The next match on this post sees Buff Bagwell taking on David Flair in a First Blood match. But this ain't your granny's First Blood match, this is a First Blood DNA match. What's the difference?...this one is called "First Blood DNA" instead of just "First Blood"...and that's it. This match came about after a pregnant Stacy Keibler dropped the bombshell at her & Flair's wedding that Flair was not the father. Flair is now accusing Bagwell of being the father, and because Bagwell won't take a blood test, they're now having a First Blood match. This was a real thing WCW did. The match earned a negative one-star rating from Dave Meltzer, and currently holds a 2.78 rating on Cagematch.net. Let's get into this.
Bagwell makes his entrance first before taking the mic and saying Flair has a small dick. Flair then comes out with a little DNA collection kit. Bagwell flips off Flair before the two lock up. Bagwell takes control, throwing slamming Flair's head into the top turnbuckles twice before hitting a bodyslam. Bagwell follows up with a back elbow before slapping Flair in the back of the head. Bagwell stays on the offensive, hitting a swinging neckbreaker, and even blocks Flair's sunset flip attempt with a punch. Flair manages to mount some offense, doing his dad's famous turnbuckle flip onto the apron before hitting a clothesline, but also like his dad, gets thrown to the mat when he goes to the top. Bagwell hits two clotheslines before hitting 10 punches in the corner, prompting Flair to do his dad's flop.
Bagwell toys with Flair, ripping his shirt off and forcing him to do Bagwell's poses, but Flair takes control with a mule kick to the dick. Flair tosses Bagwell out to ringside and tries to slam his head into the ring steps, but Bagwell blocks it. Flair keeps control, however, by bodyslamming Bagwell on the ground before pulling away the outside mats to expose the concrete. Flair goes for a piledriver, but Bagwell blocks it and hits a back-body drop. Flair regains control by reversing an Irish whip and sending Bagwell into the guard rail before grabbing a chair and swinging, but Bagwell dodges it and retreats into the ring.
Bagwell cuts off Flair when he tries to get back in the ring, pulling the top rope into his groin before smashing him over the head and out of the ring with the chair. Flair gets busted open, but the referee Mickie Jay doesn't call the match until Flair gets back in the ring and Bagwell hits the Buff Blockbuster. Suddenly, Lex Luger comes down to the ring and, after initially hugging Bagwell, clotheslines him and tosses him out of the ring. Luger then throws Bagwell into the ring post, causing him to bleed from the mouth. Flair then goes over with his collection kit and takes some of Bagwell's blood before walking backstage to a group of lab technicians, meaning that the match was pointless and Flair got what we wanted even though he lost. What a company.
The Verdict
A bland match, nothing else to really say. Not horrible, but not worth watching.

Match #4: Mike Sanders vs Ernest Miller
Next up is a three-round Kickboxing match between the current Cruiserweight Champion Mike Sanders and Ernest "The Cat" Miller, with Miller's job as WCW Commissioner on the line. For the life of me, I have no idea why WCW had a commissioner. Like, I get having an authority figure, but WCW would also have an on-screen president or the "Powers That Be" at the same time they had a commissioner, not to mention Eric Bischoff & Vince Russo on-screen also making decisions an authority figure would. To use a comparison, sports leagues like the NBA and the NFL have a commissioner that makes big decisions, but there aren't three or four other people who can also make those decisions without the commissioner factoring in. It doesn't help that, like with championships in 2000, just played hot potato with the job. Seven different people end up being commissioner between 2000 and 2001 in WCW. It doesn't make any sense. This match earned a negative half-star rating Dave Meltzer, and while it doesn't have enough votes for a rating on Cagematch.net, all four of its ratings are 0/10. Let's get into this.
Sanders is out first with his Natural Born Thrillers teammates Chuck Palumbo & Shawn Stasiak. I've probably written about the Natural Born Thrillers in this one post alone more than anybody in the last 20 years on the Internet. Sanders takes the mic and calls the Vegas crowd trailer trash who gambles their kid's college fund away at the casino before saying to Miller he's going to be "dead in your ass" What? Miller comes out with his valet Ms. Jones. He grabs a mic just to call Sanders a bitch and says that he'll whoop his ass. Both men put on their boxing gloves as the first round starts. Lots of stalling early on before Sanders throws punches, which Miller dodges. Miller then levels Sanders with punches before kicking him to the ground. The referee starts to count Sanders out, but he gets to his feet at eight. Miller takes the fight back to Sanders before sweeping his leg and knocking him down for a second time. The referee counts again, but Sanders gets back up at eight again.
Round 1 ends and during the break, a ring girl with a round card gets in the ring, as they do. Stevie Ray on commentary says someone should get security and that he has no idea where she came from. Round 2 begins. Miller again dominates, punching & kicking Sanders, and even taking shots at Palumbo & Stasiak before sweeping Sanders' leg again to knock him down. Sanders once again beats the count, only to quickly get knocked back after Miller catches one of his kicks and shoves him down. Sanders gets right back up, only to get punched back down by Miller. Sanders still manages to beat the count at 9 just before Round 2 ends. Stevie Ray is once again perplexed at the presence of the ring girl. Stasiak & Palumbo argue with each other as Shane Douglas comes down to ringside and talks to Stasiak & Palumbo.
Round 3 starts as the referee, for no reason, gets out of the ring and argues with Stasiak, Palumbo, and Douglas while Miller strikes away at Sanders. Stasiak & Palumbo leave ringside as Miller knocks Sanders down with a cartwheel kick, but Sanders gets back to his feet. Stasiak & Palumbo run back down to distract the referee, allowing Douglas to knock Miller down with a chain-wrapped fist. Sanders celebrates with a foot on Miller's chest...but Miller gets up as the round ends...and even though this was supposed to be three rounds...the match just keeps going. Miller punches Sanders before kicking him to the ground. Miller then leaves the ring and takes the fight to Douglas, striking away at him as the referee counts him out. Mike Sanders is the new WCW Commissioner.
The Verdict
An absolute bore. Just a bunch of strikes until a confusing finish. A complete waste of eight and a half minutes.

Match #5: General Rection vs Lance Storm & Jim Duggan
Following Sanders vs Miller we got Mike Awesome vs Vampiro which, as mentioned at the start of this post, I've already covered, so let's skip over that and go to our next match, a United States Championship, dubbed the Canadian Heavyweight Championship complete with a Canadian flag covering the United States flag because of who has it, match where Team Canada's Lance Storm & Hacksaw Jim Duggan defend Storm's title against General Rection, a.k.a...Hugh G. Rection. Hugh...G...Rection. A real thing put on television by WCW, courtesy of Vince Russo. I cannot believe WCW lost the Monday Night Wars. Duggan is a recent turncoat, having turned on Rection, the Misfits in Action, and America as a whole when he helped Storm retain the title against Rection at Fall Brawl the month prior. Rection & Storm now face off again, this time with Duggan on Storm's side. This match received a DUD rating from Dave Meltzer, while not having enough votes on Cagematch.net to receive a rating. It's rare to find a bad Lance Storm match, so let's see what happened.
Storm & Duggan are out first with Major Gunns by their side. Major Gunns also used to be in the Misfits in Action and is apparently not in Team Canada by choice apparently, since Rection is also fighting to free her from Team Canada. I'm not sure how she got forced into being in Team Canada, but I guess that's what's happening. For the fourth straight match in this post (fifth on the show) we get a pre-match promo as Storm grabs the mic and runs down Rection has fallen for "never say die" American propaganda because he won't accept defeat, and that he can't be beaten because he's from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He says Rection won't get the gold or the girl, just the beating of his life. Storm then has the Canadian National Anthem play, but is interrupted by Rection. Before the match, referee Scott Armstrong confiscates Duggan's 2x4.
Rection & Duggan go head-to-head to start the match, the two trading blows before Duggan starts kneeing him in the gut. Rection fires back, clotheslining Duggan out of the ring, only for Storm to run in and attack him from behind. Rection keeps control, however, hitting a backdrop that Storm gets huge air on before hitting three clotheslines, sending Storm retreating out of the ring. Despite not being legal, Storm gets back in the ring, poking Rection in the eye and chopping him in the corner. Rection doesn't sell it, however, and hits some chops of his own. Storm reverses an Irish whip and sends Rection into the corner, but Rection gets a boot up to block a charging Storm. Rection goes for 10 punches in the corner, but Storm breaks it up and hits an inverted Atomic Drop before tagging out to Duggan. Duggan hits one punch and one kick before tagging Storm back in. Rection tries to mount a comeback, backdropping a charging Storm out of the ring and taking the fight to Duggan, but Storm pulls the ropes down while Rection runs and sends him out of the ring.
Storm beats down Rection in the entranceway before rolling him back into the ring for Duggan to beat down. Again, no tag was made for Duggan to be legal. Scott Armstrong admonishes Duggan at one point, so Duggan threatens to toss him out of the ring. Duggan continues beating down Rection before Storm puts his boot up, allowing Duggan to throw Rection in it. Storm then tags in and makes the cover for a two-count. Rection tries to fight back, but Storm hit a lawbreaker followed by a superkick for a near fall. Duggan tags back in, beating down Rection before hitting a bodyslam. Duggan gets in the three-point stance for the clothesline, but Rection catches him with a clothesline of his own for a double down. Storm tags back in and locks in a sleeper hold, but Rection breaks it by hitting a back suplex. Storm makes the tag to Duggan just before Rection grabs him for another back suplex, but Storm flips out and lands on his feet. Storm goes for a forearm shot, but Rection dodges it and Storm hits Duggan instead.
This allows Rection to make a comeback, running through both men giving Storm a body slam and Duggan a corner splash. Storm tries to regain control and lock in the Canadian Maple Leaf (a single-leg Boston Crab), but Rection blocks it and hits a scoop slam. Rection makes the cover (even though Storm isn't legal) and Duggan tries to break it up with a stomp, but Rection moves at the last second, causing Storm to get stomped. Rection capitalizes, hitting a knee lift on Duggan before making the cover, but Storm breaks it up. Aside from the multiple times the legal man gets mixed up, this has been a fairly fine match. Time to overcomplicate things.
Rection throws Storm towards the ropes and then drops down when he runs towards him. For some reason, Scott Armstrong does the same. Armstrong does this again after Storm hits the ropes and comes back toward him. Storm & Rection then collide in the middle, causing Storm to stumble into Armstrong and knock him down. Duggan is the only man up, allowing him to hit a piledriver on Rection before making the cover. He gets multiple visual threes before Armstrong wakes up and starts to count, but Rection kicks out, which causes Duggan to roll onto Armstrong and knock him out again. Team Canada's Elix Skipper runs down with Duggan's 2x4 to try and give him an advantage, but Major Gunns knocks him off the apron by hitting him with the Canadian flag on a pole. Storm scolds Gunns and hands Duggan his 2x4, but Gunns keeps him from interfering further. Duggan swings at Rection, only for Rection to duck and hit a Russian leg sweep. Rection follows up with his No Laughing Matter moonsault for the three, the win, the title, Major Gunns' freedom, and America's pride, I think.
The Verdict
For the most part, the match was fine. Duggan was obviously limited in what he could do at this point, but the match was still pretty decent when Storm & Rection were able to wrestle each other. However, the ending is pretty overbooked, so I'll be knocking it down a bit in the rankings because of that.

Match #6: Goldberg vs KroniK
Following the United States title match, we got another match I've already covered in Jeff Jarrett & Sting's match that featured a parade of Imposter Stings, and a fairly decent World Heavyweight Championship match between Booker T and Scott Steiner that unfortunately ends in a DQ. That brings us to the main event and the final match we'll be looking at; a no-disqualification handicap match between Goldberg vs KroniK (Brian Adams & Bryan Clark). Poor Bryan Clark, he's been involved in all but one post during this month. This match comes about as a result of Goldberg's feud with Vince Russo, who is forcing him to put his career on the line in every match going forward until he repeats his famous undefeated streak. If he does that, he gets a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship, but one loss ends his career in WCW. During a 6-man tag match on the previous Thunder between Goldberg, Sting & Booker T and Jeff Jarrett & KroniK, Goldberg hit his head on the ring post when going for the Spear, leaving his injury status unclear. This match earned a single-star rating from Dave Meltzer and is too short (under 5 minutes) to be rated on Cagematch.net. The main event of a pay-per-view is under five minutes. People paid $60 for this.
Fuck me, ANOTHER pre-match promo. I get it when it's guys like main eventers or charismatic guys like Douglas and Bagwell who can talk, but not everyone needs one. I don't need Mike Sanders & KroniK promos. Brian Adams takes the mic and says Goldberg isn't cleared to wrestle and that there won't be a match tonight. KroniK's music hits and referee Mickie Jay raises their hands, only for the show to cut backstage to doctors telling head of security Doug Dillinger that Goldberg is cleared. Goldberg's music hits and he walks out from his locker room to the stage.
An instant brawl starts the match before KroniK tosses him out of the ring...just so they can punch him at ringside. KroniK throws Goldberg back in the ring and hit a double-shoulder block before Adams gets out of the ring and grabs a table. KroniK sets the table up in the corner and try to put Goldberg through it with a double chokeslam, but Goldberg fights out and superkicks Adams out of the ring. Clark tries to suplex Goldberg, but Goldberg lands on his feet, ducks a clothesline, and spears Clark through the table. Goldberg covers Clark gets the three and the win...or does he? Mickie Jay called for the bell and Stevie Ray said he won on commentary, but Tony Schiavone says the match isn't actually over, so I guess it's an elimination match, something they never said until now. Brian Adams quickly hits a full nelson slam and makes the cover, but Goldberg kicks out. Goldberg then hits another Spear follows up with a Jackhammer for the three and the win.
The Verdict
Not a main event match by any stretch of the imagination. It's just a brief brawl and then the match is over before you know it. Not worth watching at all.
