My Thoughts on RAW (10/24/16): Stu...pid Idiot

(Sorry I missed last week's review. I was busy and didn't catch RAW. Also, there won't be a SmackDown review tomorrow either.)
  • We kick off the show with Chris Jericho WITHOUT THE LIST OF JERICHO! DAMMIT! Well, it was nice while it lasted. Jericho says that the triple threat between him, Kevin Owens, and Seth Rollins has been canceled due to something so terrible it could ruin people's lives...SOMEBODY STOLE THE LIST OF JERICHO!!! UNFORGIVABLE! WHOEVER DID IT SHOULD BE SUSPENDED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! Jericho threatens to stay in the ring until he gets his list back, and outcomes Kevin Owens. Jericho asks if Owens took the list, but Owens says he doesn't have it and doesn't care who does. He knows Jericho does, though, and offers to help Jericho find it after the triple threat tonight. Jericho maintains that he won't wrestle until he gets the list back, and that brings out Stephanie McMahon. She says she'll do everything she can to get the list back to Jericho, but says Jericho will compete in the match tonight. She tells him to stop being ridiculous, but Jericho still refuses until he gets his list. Outcomes Seth Rollins with THE LIST OF JERICHO! THAT BASTARD! Rollins says he found it and won't give it back, and reveals that Jericho put Stephanie & Owens on the list, calling Owens his "former" best friend! Jericho denies it and demands the list back. Rollins says he'll give the list back, but after he makes his own list, a list of Kevin Owens' body parts that won't be the same after Hell in a Cell this Sunday. He talks about fighting in Hell in a Cell before and lists off all the body parts on Owens he's going to hurt, including his lips so he can't kiss Triple H & Stephanie's asses anymore. He ends the promo by saying he'll stop at nothing to get the Universal Championship from Owens before walking off with the List of Jericho. Jericho follows after him to close the segment.
  • Backstage, Stephanie asks Rollins for the List of Jericho so the triple threat can happen tonight. Rollins berates her for trying to stack the deck against him and says he left the list in the locker room.
  • Enzo Amore vs Karl Anderson-Gallows & Anderson cut off Enzo's mic during his promo and they say Enzo & Cass never got the message that the fun & games are over. Enzo just does his promo without the mic as the crowd recites the whole thing. Anderson takes Enzo down with a high elbow to start before Enzo punches Anderson to the ground. Enzo goes to the top rope, but Gallows distracts him long enough for Anderson to recover. Enzo dives at Anderson who catches him for a spinebuster before the commercial break. We come back to Anderson hitting a running big boot on Enzo. Anderson hits another one before hitting a single leg dropkick for a near fall. Enzo fights out of a headlock and jabs away at Anderson. Enzo charges at Anderson but Anderson pulls him into the ropes and after a series of reversals, gets the visual three on a roll up, but Cass distracts the referee. Enzo kicks out and sends Anderson into the ropes, allowing Cass to hit a big boot on Anderson. Enzo gets the pin off the interference for the win. Wow, what babyfaces!
  • The New Day vs Sheamus & Cesaro-Yes, because the best way to hype up a match on a pay-per-view is to give it away for free the week before with nothing on the line. Stupid idiots...Kofi & Cesaro start off with Kofi hitting a very small splash and Cesaro hitting an uppercut. Cesaro hits a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a near fall and tags in Sheamus. Kofi hits a diving crossbody for a near fall before tagging in Big E for some tag moves. The New Day do the Unicorn Stampede before the commercial break. We come back to Cesaro & Sheamus in control. The two tag constantly tag eachother in and out to one-up eachother. Sheamus hits the Ten Beats of the Bodhran for a near fall. Kofi dodges a charging Cesaro and makes the hot tag to Big E. Big E suplexes Sheamus around the ring and goes for the big splash, but Sheamus gets up and hits an Irish Curse backbreaker for a near fall. Big E hits a Samoa Joe-corner STO for a near fall. Sheamus catches Big E with a powerslam and tags in Cesaro. Cesaro counters a jumping DDT with a vertical suplex and goes for the Cesaro Swing, but Kofi counters with a small package. Cesaro starts the Uppercut Train, but Kofi counters with an SOS for a near fall. Big E tags in off a kick and goes for the Big Ending, but Cesaro escapes, only to take a crossbody from Kofi. After a blind tag, Big E dodges a Brogue Kick from Sheamus and clotheslines him out of the ring. Kofi tries to dive onto Cesaro, only to get caught with an uppercut. Big E then takes a Brogue Kick from Sheamus and Sheamus & Cesaro get the win. Good match, really picked up at the end.
  • Backstage, Jericho asks the Shining Stars, Titus O'Neil, and Jinder Mahal if they've seen the list. They read off their catchphrases before calling a Mahal a stupid idiot in sync with Mahal's breathing exercise.
  • Dana Brooke vs Bayley-Pre-match, Dana says that her win last week not an upset despite what people are saying because she is in better shape. Dana then says that their rematch is a wrestling match...an arm wrestling match. Bayley tries to use her left arm because her right arm is injured, but Dana demands the right arm. Dana easily wins the match but gives Bayley another chance with her good arm. The crowd chants "Boring" as Bayley is about to win, but Dana cheap shots her and slams Bayley's bad arm across the arm wrestling table, only to get a Bayley-to-Belly. That was a waste of time.
  • Jericho is still looking for the List of Jericho when he tells Stephanie. Stephanie says Rollins is trying to get Jericho out of the triple threat and tells Jericho he's competing tonight whether he likes it or not. Jericho still refuses, so Stephanie threatens to suspend Jericho if he doesn't wrestle.
  • Curtis Axel vs Bo Dallas-Axel says he really Bo-lieved in Bo. He talks about his family and says Bo attacked everything Axel stands for last week when he attacked Axel. Axel pounces on Bo to start, but Bp takes advantage quick. Bo goes for Cross Bo-ads (I know it's not called that, but that's what I'm calling it), but Axel escapes and hits a Perfect-Plex for a near fall. Bo rolls out of the ring and ambushes Axel when he goes after him. Axel fights back and hits a running knee strike for a near fall. Axel ties up Bo in the ropes and goes for a knee strike, but Bo counters and rolls up Axel for the win. Lame match, plain and simple.
  • More List of Jericho shenanigans when someone backstage tells Jericho they found the list...Braun Strowman has it. Jericho asks for it back, and Strowman makes him say please. Strowman adds that he doesn't see Sami Zayn on the list, but Jericho says it's on page 4. After Strowman walks away, Jericho adds him to the list.
  • The Golden Truth with Mark Henry vs The Shining Stars with Titus O'Neil-Goldust & Epico start off with Goldust hitting an Atomic drop and a kick. Epico dropkicks Goldust and the Stars take advantage. They beat down Goldust before Truth gets the hot tag. Titus causes Truth to fall out of the ring and after some chaos, the Golden Truth hits a flapjack/Lil Jimmy combo for the win.
  • Outcomes Foley for the Women's Hell in a Cell contract signing. He brings out Charlotte and Sasha Banks and tells them they've been breaking through the glass ceiling of the WWE since they got there. He warns them about how dangerous Hell in a Cell can be, but they both demand he hands over the contract. Charlotte says that after she beats Sasha, Sasha will have to respect her. Sasha says she doesn't care if she has to crawl her way up the ramp, so Charlotte brings up that Sasha is injury prone. Sasha says she gets knocked down but gets up even better each time. A lot of yelling from Foley, warning them that Hell in a Cell messed up his body for life no matter what he does. He finally gives them the contract and they both sign it, making their match at Hell in a Cell official.
  • Another Emmalina vignette.
  • Brian Kendrick vs Rich Swann-I'm sorry, but if WWE really wants to get the cruiserweights over, then they can't keep putting them in the death spot every week like they've been doing. Kendrick starts off out muscling Swann before Swann hits a dropkick. Byron Saxton is amazed by this. A dropkick. Swann sends Kendrick out of the ring and takes out Kendrick with a dive to the outside before the commercial break. We come back to Kendrick in control. Swann fights back and runs wild, hitting a double stomp for a near fall. Kendrick goes to the top rope, but Swann leaps up and hits a super Frankensteiner for a near fall. Swann counters the Sliced Bread #2 and hits a double underhook powerbomb and bridges for a near fall. Swann counters the Captain's Hook, but Kendrick kicks him in the face anyways. Swann hops up on Kendrick's shoulders, but Kendrick drops him with a facebuster and goes for the Captain's Hook, but Swann counters and rolls him up for the win. Fine little match, nothing special. Also, not the best way to make Kendrick look strong going into a title match on Sunday.
  • Tom Phillips interviews Kevin Owens. Owens says he & Jericho are still on the same page and that they'll break Seth Rollins tonight. He says he's been waiting to get into Hell in a Cell, but that no one will aspire to go into Hell in a Cell after what Owens does to Rollins on Sunday. He says the only thing that matters to him is the Universal Championship and he'll do anything to keep it. He ends by saying he'll be the only one who leaves Hell on Sunday.
  • Braun Strowman vs Sami Zayn-Before the match, Strowman takes the mic and demands real competition. Strowman turns his back to Zayn, so Zayn hits him in the back and slaps him. Zayn leaves the ring and lets Strowman chase after him before dropkicking him off the ring apron. Zayn goes for a dive, but Strowman catches him and tosses him into the barricade. Strowman walks off, but Zayn gets back in the ring and tells Strowman to come back. Instead, Strowman keeps walking.
  • Backstage, a nearly crying Brian Kendrick asks TJ Perkins for help. He asks Perkins to let him win on Sunday and basically says this is his last chance. Perkins looks at him disgusted before walking off.
  • Outcomes Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman. Heyman singles out a Goldberg fan and says all the Goldberg chants piss Lesnar off. Heyman says Lesnar will beat Goldberg. He also berates the people who chant for Suplex City by calling them bandwagoners. He also warns people to stop chanting Goldberg before Lesnar deals with them himself. Dueling "Suplex City/Goldberg" chants break out and Heyman blames Goldberg for people chant for him in Lesnar's hometown. The half the crowd starts chanting "Goldberg Sucks" and Lesnar & Heyman leave. That was pointless. That felt like a complete waste of time. I never thought I'd say that about a Brock Lesnar segment.
  • Backstage, Jericho & Owens talk about their match. Jericho questions whether their friendship matters to Owens, but Owens clarifies that they are best friends still.
  • Seth Rollins vs Chris Jericho vs Kevin Owens-Owens & Jericho roll out of the ring and discuss a plan. They get back in the ring, only for Rollins to roll out and tells them to fight. They go after Rollins, who outsmarts them and takes out Owens with a knee and goes to work on Jericho. Rollins keeps Owens out of the ring, but Owens gets him on the outside and rams him into the barricade. Rollins counters a second attempt and throws Owens into the barricade twice before dropkicking Rollins. Jericho runs in and tosses Rollins over the barricade, but Rollins takes both Jericho and Owens out with a crossbody. Rollins tosses Jericho over the barricade, but Owens takes control in the ring. Owens goes for a cannonball, but Rollins dodges and hits a diving knee strike for a near fall. Rollins goes for a Pedigree, but Jericho runs in. Jericho avoids a Pedigree and goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Rollins counters that and the Lionsault. Owens saves Jericho from another Pedigree attempt before Owens & Jericho double team Rollins. They continue to double team Rollins and try for the Pop Up Codebreaker, but Rollins is able to send Owens out of the ring, superkicks, Jericho, and takes out Owens with a suicide dive. Rollins then goes for a Frog Splash, but Jericho dodges and hits a Codebreaker for a surprising near fall. More double teaming from Jeri-KO, but when they go for a double superplex, Rollins slides under them and gets a double schoolboy pinfall for the win. After the match, Jeri-KO goes back to beating down Rollins, tossing him into the steps before security runs down to separate them. Rollins runs after Owens and the two brawl on the stage before fighting back to ringside. They take out the security crew along the way, and Owens finishes Rollins off with a powerbomb on the ring apron to close the show.

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse

Worst in the World: Nia Jax's Worst Matches

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Nia Jax's first run with the WWE can really only be described as hard to watch. Sure, she had a few stand-out matches, most notably (and surprisingly) her match with Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, and an underrated gem with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: London, but those were always outshined by her most infamous matches and moments. She's since returned to WWE and, for the most part, seems to have improved a bit, but the reputation she got from her initial run is gonna be hard to shake off. This week, I'll be looking at some of Jax's worst matches. These include just flat-out bad matches, and matches that have become infamous examples of her reckless in-ring work. Match #1: vs Charlotte Flair-April 10th, 2017 Raw The first match we'll be looking at is from the April 10, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, when Nia took on Charlotte Flair. The two had been on the losing e

Worst in the World: Carmella vs Asuka: How to Destroy an Aura

Throughout the entire history of the WWE, we've never seen, and probably will never see again, a woman booked as strong as Asuka was to start her run. Coming into WWE in 2015 with over a decade of experience wrestling in her native Japan as Kana, Asuka was immediately treated like a huge deal. Hell, even from the first time we saw her on a WWE broadcast, she was seated in the crowd of NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn next to two Hall of Famers in Ric Flair & Sgt. Slaughter. Officially debuting in October 2015, Asuka would go her entire NXT career, nearly two full years, without being pinned or submitted. She was booked so strong, in fact, that instead of dropping the NXT Women's Championship in what would be her last match in NXT at the time to Ember Moon (even after sustaining an injury), an act that is almost always the case for champions leaving NXT for the main roster, Asuka retained and later vacated the title, keeping her streak intact. For a company that is more than willing t
