My Thoughts on RAW (11/21/16): The Hair Conditioner Bros.

  • We kick off the show with Goldberg. Holy sh*t, I'm still just trying to wrap my head around what happened last night. This was honestly the most surprising thing that's happened in WWE in years. Possibly since the Undertaker's streak was broken at WrestleMania 30. I never thought I'd see Brock Lesnar get squashed in under 90 seconds, especially by Goldberg. He thanks the fans for letting him come back and be Goldberg again. The crowd chants "You Still Got It!" Calm down, he wrestled for 90 seconds and did three moves. He thanks his wife for putting up with him during his training for his return and his son for giving him the desire to be a superhero again. He says he did what he came back to do; beat Brock Lesnar. However, he says that all good things come to an end...but after the match last night, he ran into Stephanie McMahon, who asked him if he has one more title run in him. He says he does. He says that at the Royal Rumble match, EVERYBODY IS NEXT!
  • The New Day (c) with Xavier Woods vs Sheamus & Cesaro-RAW Tag Team Championships-Pre-match, Woods says they captained Team RAW to the victory before talking about Demolition's record long Tag Team Championship reign, that they are 23 days away from beating. Kofi says they will demolish the record. Sheamus & Cesaro decide who will start by playing Rock, Paper, Scissors. Cesaro wins. He & Big E lock up before Cesaro hits a power slam for a near fall. Sheamus tags in and hits a Battering Ram for a near fall. Big E tags in Kofi, who hits a diving crossbody for a near fall. Kofi lands on his feet off a monkey flip, so Cesaro does the same. Kofi blocks the Cesaro Swing before Sheamus tags in, drags Kofi out of the ring, and throws Kofi into the ring post before the commercial break. We come back to Kofi countering a flying nothing by Sheamus with a dropkick, only for Sheamus to come back with an Irish Curse backbreaker. Sheamus dominates Kofi until Kofi dodges a charging Sheamus, causing him to run into Cesaro. Big E gets the hot tag, hits three belly-to-belly suplexes. Kofi takes out Cesaro at ringside as Big E hits the big splash for a near fall. Big E calls for the Big Ending, but Sheamus rakes his eyes and hits White Noise for a near fall. Cesaro & Kofi tag in and Cesaro starts the Uppercut Train. Kofi blocks one of the uppercuts, but Cesaro catches him off a diving crossbody and hits a gut wrench backbreaker for a near fall. Kofi hits the SOS for a near fall and hits the Boom Drop before calling for Trouble in Paradise. Cesaro catches his foot and swings Kofi as the crowd chants "TEN" the entire time for Tye Dillinger. Cesaro stops and locks in the Sharpshooter. Big E tries to pull Kofi out of the hold, but Sheamus takes him out with a Brogue Kick. Woods distracts the referee as Kofi taps out, which causes Cesaro to let go of the hold. This allows Kofi to roll up Cesaro for the win. Good match, but these f*ck finishes so save the New Day are getting really old.
  • Charly Caruso interviews Chris Jericho. He says the reason Team RAW lost was because the List of Jericho was used as a weapon. He says he'll reveal whose fault it was that Team RAW lost on the Highlight Reel tonight.
  • Outside the locker room, Enzo Amore has been locked out of the locker room by Big Cass, completely naked. He walks by the Shining Stars, Titus O'Neil, and Lana. He asks her how she's doing before Rusev runs over angry. Big Cass comes over before Rusev says he'll deal with Enzo tonight.
  • Backstage, Stephanie McMahon & Mick Foley talk about dominating at Survivor Series when Foley asks if she was serious about firing the losers last night. She says she wasn't before Sami Zayn walks in. Foley says that because Zayn didn't bring the Intercontinental Championship to RAW, he has to face Braun Strowman tonight.
  • Cedric Alexander vs Ariya Daivari-You could hear a pin drop. That's how dead the Cruiserweight Division is. And honestly, it makes no sense for the cruiserweights to be on RAW when 205 Live is right after SmackDown on Tuesday. Pre-match, Daivari gets some of the cheapest of heat by saying Canada is just as bad as the United States. Daivari tries to attack Alexander before the match, only for Alexander to turn it into a Fujiwara armbar. The ref breaks it up and starts the match. Daivari takes control with lots of strikes. Alexander comes back with a backflip headscissor takedown before going for a springboard only for Daivari to slap his leg out from under him and make him land on the ropes for a near fall. Alexander hits a handspring roundhouse kick followed by a springboard clothesline. Alexander hits Lumbar Check for the win.
  • It's The Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho! He says he's going to do an "autopsy" of Team RAW's loss at Survivor Series. Outcomes Kevin Owens, who says that he only used the List of Jericho as a weapon to save Jericho from the Styles Clash because they are best friends. Jericho questions their friendship because Owens knows how much the List of Jericho means to him. Owens maintains that he sacrificed himself to save Jericho last night, but Jericho still got eliminated because he was distracted with the list. Owens says Jericho wasted Owens sacrifice and their friendship by doing that. Jericho says they aren't really friends because Owens is never there and says he's finished with Owens. They both yell that they know who's fault it is that Team RAW lost...ROMAN REIGNS! They hug it out because TEAM KEVIN & CHRIS/TEAM CHRIS & KEVIN FOREVER! Jericho & Owens both say that Reigns "and his hair conditioner" hair are responsible, along with "his hair conditioned brother" Seth Rollins. This brings out Rollins, who reveals that Rollins was promised a Universal Championship match for being on Team RAW, and he wants the match tonight. The crowd chants "YES!" before Owens shuts them down by saying the guy who started that chant isn't relevant anymore because he is the greatest. Owens & Jericho say they don't believe him, but Rollins says he doesn't care what they believe and punches Jericho. Owens & Jericho beat down Rollins before Roman Reigns comes out to a chorus of boos. Reigns & Rollins easily beat up Owens & Jericho, ending with Reigns hitting the Superman Punch on Jericho. Mick Foley comes out and says Rollins is telling the truth and announces that Owens will defend the Universal Championship in a no disqualifications match against Rollins tonight, with Reigns & Jericho banned from ringside. Wait, don't those kind of cancel each other out? Like, what would Foley do if Jericho ran out, disqualify Owens? Makes no sense.
  • Rusev with Lana vs Enzo Amore with Big Cass-Lana botched her promo again, telling America to rise...while RAW was in Canada. Stupid idiot...oh, wait, she's Russian...Тупой идиот, that's better. Pre-match, Enzo says that if Lana wanted to see him naked, all she had to do was hack his phone like everyone else in his country. Cass then says Rusev has an S-A-W-F-T dick. Well... that's how they work. It's not like he's constantly got a...you know what, I'm going to stop writing this before Google takes away my Adsense. Rusev quickly wins with the Accolade.
  • The Golden Truth vs Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson-Anderson & Goldust start off before Truth tags in and hits a hip toss. Truth goes for ten punches in the corner, but Gallows distracts him, allowing Anderson to turn the tables. Gallows & Anderson dominate until Truth hits a heel kick on Gallows. Goldust gets the hot tag and runs wild on Anderson, hitting a running bulldog & a spinebuster. Goldust hits a double crossbody and a powerslam on Anderson, but Gallows breaks up the pin. Truth takes out Gallows, but he recovers and throws Truth into the ring apron. Anderson boots Goldust off the top rope with a single leg dropkick and he & Gallows hit the Magic Killer for the win. Fine match, nothing special.
  • Sami Zayn vs Braun Strowman-Strowman attacks Zayn before the match. After the bell rings, Strowman clobbers Zayn as the crowd chants "Please Don't Kill Him!" Zayn fights back, but Strowman continues to beat him down. Strowman has Zayn dead to rights, but Strowman continues to decimate him. Strowman hangs Zayn up in the Tree of Woe and backs up, only for Foley to walk out and tell the referee to stop the match.
  • I can't remember a time when Emmalina vignettes were not happening anymore.
  • Charlotte & Dana Brooke come out. Charlotte says she's better than Wayne Gretzky and that she's above everyone on RAW. She is interrupted by Sasha Banks. Sasha says she still has a Women's Championship rematch and she wants it right now. Charlotte agrees...but not tonight. She says that next week RAW is in her hometown and she'll beat her there. Outcomes Nia Jax, who says she dominated Team SmackDown last night and Sasha Banks didn't. She says she's not fooled by Sasha's glitz & glammer and calls her overrated. She says when she gets the championship back she'll show Nia how "overrated" she is. Dana Brooke acts annoying, so Sasha hits her. Nia & Charlotte then team up to beat down on Sasha before Bayley runs down to make the save, but Nia just shoves her off the apron. This obviously leads to a TAG TEAM MATCH PLAYAS!
  • Bayley & Sasha Banks vs Charlotte & Nia Jax with Dana Brooke-The match starts during the commercial break with Sasha & Bayley beating down Charlotte. Charlotte quickly tags in Nia, who runs right through Bayley for a near fall. Bayley gets throw out of the ring, where Dana Brooke clotheslines her while Nia distracts the referee. The heels beat down Bayley until she makes the hot tag to Sasha. Sasha runs wild on Charlotte, hitting the elevated double knee drop in the corner, but Nia breaks up the pin. Sasha & Bayley double suplex Nia before Charlotte goes for a roll up. Sasha tries to turn it into the Bank Statement, but Charlotte escapes, only to get locked in it quickly afterward and submitting.
  • Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins. Rollins says that Chris Jericho has cost him the Universal Championship twice now, and thankfully he's been banned from ringside. He says he'll take the Universal Championship from Kevin Owens tonight.
  • Rich Swann vs Noam Dar vs TJ Perkins-Brian Kendrick is on commentary for this match to see who faces him on the premiere of 205 Live. The three all trade blows before Swann & Perkins go back and forth before the commercial break. We come back to Perkins working over the legs of Swann. Dar runs in, but Perkins hits a Northern Lights suplex while keeping the hold on Swann locked in for a near fall. Perkins hits a wrecking ball dropkick on Swann, but Swann makes him fall off the top rope. Perkins hits a spin kick on Dar goes for the Detonation Kick, but Dar blocks it and locks in an ankle lock. Swann breaks it up before Perkins locks him in the kneebar. Dar breaks that up and dropkicks Perkins in the corner. Perkins locks in the kneebar on Dar, but Swann breaks it up with Rolling Thunder. Swann hits the Rich Kick for the win. Just a bunch of moves with no time in between.
  • Charly Caruso interviews Kevin Owens. He says he's ready for Seth Rollins and says that Rollins failed last night. He says he's the best champion in WWE and proved it when he powerbombed AJ Styles. He says he was never pinned last night, unlike Rollins. He says he's going to punish Rollins tonight for failing RAW. He then realizes Renee Young isn't interviewing him and tells her to stop annoying him.
  • Kevin Owens (c) vs Seth Rollins in a No Disqualifications match-Universal Championship-The two immediately brawl to the outside before Rollins hits a diving knee for a near fall. Rollins grabs a table, but Owens hits a package driver for a near fall when he gets back in the ring. Owens throws the table out of the ring before the commercial break. We come back to see Owens hit a DDT on a chair for a near fall. Owens hits Rollins with the chair for another near fall. Owens uses the chair again before Rollins hits the Sling Blade. Rollins sends Owens out of the ring and hits a suicide dive. Rollins hits him in the corner before hitting an STO onto a chair for near fall before another commercial break. We come back to the two trading blows. Rollins hits a high, Owens comes back with a superkick, and Rollins comes back with an enziguri before both men go down. Owens dodges a frog splash and hits a Cannonball with a chair in front of Rollins for a near fall. Owens tries to powerbomb Rollins through two chairs, but Rollins back body drops Owens through the chairs for a near fall. Rollins grabs a table and sets it up in the corner. Owens almost gets the win off a roll up, but Rollins kicks out and hits a superkick for a near fall. Rollins hits an apron enziguri and goes to the top rope, but Owens meets him up there. Owens goes for a superplex, but Rollins blocks it, slides through, and powerbombs Owens through the table for a near fall. Owens rolls out of the ring, where Rollins clotheslines him over the barricade and dives onto him. The two brawl in the crowd. Rollins throws a trashcan at Owens before Owens goes for the powerbomb on the floor, but Rollins grabs the protective railing in the stands. Rollins kicks Owens off and dives from the crowd and onto Owens. They walk back to the barricade, where Rollins back body drops Owens back to ringside. Rollins hops up onto the barricade, but a fan in a Sin Cara mask pushes him off. Rollins rips the mask off to reveal Chris Jericho, who was technically not at ringside, he was in the crowd. Jericho immediately ruins that loophole by hopping over the barricade to ringside. Rollins gives him a Pedigree on the outside, but Owens superkicks him right after and powerbombs him onto the apron. Owens rolls Rollins back into the ring and covers him for the win. Great main event with a lot of awesome moments, especially the dive from the crowd.

Worst in the World: The Gimmick Battle Royal-WrestleMania X-Seven

(Special thanks to Frost for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) WrestleMania X-Seven. Heavily considered the not just the best WrestleMania, but the greatest wrestling show of all time, WrestleMania X-Seven took place during the hottest period in the WWF's history, and features just about every one of the hottest acts in wrestling at the time. An undercard featuring the likes of Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, William Regal, Kane, and the Big Show. One of the biggest female stars in the history of wrestling in Chyna. A killer TLC match between the Dudley Boyz, the Hardy Boyz, and Edge & Christian. A wild brawl between The Undertaker and Triple H. A massive main event between Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Hell, even the father vs son Street Fight between Vince & Shane McMahon. It's a star-studded affair. However, there's one match that sticks out like

Worst in the World: The Last Rites Match-TNA Destination X 2007

(Special thanks to an anonymous user for suggesting this match. If you'd like to see a match covered on the Worst in the World, leave a comment down below.) An often discussed aspect of professional wrestling is the backstage politicking of Hulk Hogan. Throughout his career as a major attraction in wrestling, Hogan's philosophy has always been to protect Hulk Hogan...OK, sometimes he'd help Ed Leslie, but most of the time it was to protect Hulk Hogan. Because of that philosophy and Hogan's influence as a top guy, there have been multiple instances where a company's booking and other wrestlers have suffered as a result. Would having Mr. Perfect win the 1990 Royal Rumble made sense and could have elevated a rising star and potentially created a new main event player? Yes, but that would require Hogan to not win, and that doesn't work for Hogan, so he wins the Rumble even though he doesn't need elevating. Would booking Randy Orton to beat Hogan at SummerSlam 20

Worst in the World: D-Generation X vs Brothers of Destruction-Crown Jewel

This match didn't need to happen. After Triple H and the Undertaker had one of the most brutally bad matches of 2018 at Super Show-Down not even a month earlier, nobody wanted to see them try to wrestle again. Also, nobody wanted to see Shawn Michaels come out of retirement after his fantastic sendoff in 2010, especially for a match like this. But here we are, Triple H & Shawn Michaels facing The Undertaker & Kane in 2018. The combined ages of these four at the time is 206. That's a number you'd expect to see from a match at Heroes of Wrestling. And anyone can come up with their own reason as to why this match is happening, but that would just be ignoring the actual reason. For those of you who don't know, Crown Jewel was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That might not seem like important information, but you can't really discuss this match without mentioning it. Despite the numerous reasons that running shows in Saudi Arabia is morally wrong (their abuse

Worst in the World: Nia Jax's Worst Matches

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Nia Jax's first run with the WWE can really only be described as hard to watch. Sure, she had a few stand-out matches, most notably (and surprisingly) her match with Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank, and an underrated gem with Bayley at NXT TakeOver: London, but those were always outshined by her most infamous matches and moments. She's since returned to WWE and, for the most part, seems to have improved a bit, but the reputation she got from her initial run is gonna be hard to shake off. This week, I'll be looking at some of Jax's worst matches. These include just flat-out bad matches, and matches that have become infamous examples of her reckless in-ring work. Match #1: vs Charlotte Flair-April 10th, 2017 Raw The first match we'll be looking at is from the April 10, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw, when Nia took on Charlotte Flair. The two had been on the losing e

Worst in the World: Eric Young & Shark Boy vs Generation Me-TNA Destination X 2011

Click the link here to vote in the poll and help decide the next edition of the Worst in the World. Throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, few tag teams made as much noise on the independent scene as the Young Bucks. Really breaking out at a time when WWE made their tag division a borderline afterthought, Matt & Nick Jackson were almost unmatched in terms of elite matches on the indys, most notably in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla & Ring of Honor before joining New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Bullet Club, becoming mainstays of the group as it reached its peak throughout the mid-2010s. Sure, their style hasn't endeared them to old-school wrestling fans, but you can't deny their impact on wrestling. And with the arrival of All Elite Wrestling in 2019, North American fans would finally get to see the Young Bucks on national television for the first time... However... In what has become somewhat of a footnote in their careers, the Young Bucks had been on a nationally televised wrestlin
